A big thank you to Prof Lo who gave me a diagnosis (properly backed up with a genetic test), when the rest of the doctors from multiple specialties were unable to give me one. Currently I have right upper limb weakness which as drastically affected my daily life. Thousand thanks for occupational therapist Natalie, who correctly identifies and explains the weakness I was experiencing, and continues to help in giving advice to help me move a little better. It is frustrating to lose the function of an arm. Natalie is patient and empathetic, constantly encourages, and give me a glimpse of hope that full recovery might be possible under her care. PSO Devi was also helpful during my visit by attending to my enquires.

The SGH rehabilitation centre is relatively new to us all. From the link bridge connecting SGH to the newly built SingHealth Tower where the rehabilitation centre is located at, it has been ingeniously furnished with benches and a long row of ceiling fans for patients who need to take a break before continuing their journey. And we quite enjoyed the view while crossing the bridge which was overlooking the Outram community hospital. My physiotherapist, a Dr Chong who has been assigned to myself, is experienced in customising a series of strengthening exercises for my knee caps. The staff are also trying their best to be helpful at all the counters and have been observed to be trying their best to do their work. There’s a staff assigned to help patients with self-registration at the kiosks although the scanners for IC don’t seemed to be as sensitive and we ended up having to key in our IC numbers manually. Cashier on duty whose an Indian matronly lady is very nice, helpful and polite when we requested for a print out of invoice. The Center is also very spacious and huge with many rooms and it certainly take us quite a while to walk to the consultation rooms when it’s our turn to see our physiotherapists. The cleaner had also been observed to be sanitizing the area frequently.

I just had ACL reconstruction recently as did my first physio at this Sgh rehab center in OCH this morning . The rehab centre is very spacious n parking is a breeze just at basement below the rehab centre . The health care personal assisted to me are Ms Jo , Chrystal and Sha who were very attentive ensuring I did the exercisers correcting to strength my area for ACL recovery .
