About Silver Ribbon Singapore

About Silver Ribbon Singapore

Silver Ribbon Singapore is a counselling service provider operating islandwide from its Serangoon Central location. It has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person confirmed its operating details and contact channel. With 11 Google reviews and a rating of 3/5, the sample size is small and the score should be treated as directional only. Pricing is indicated at a moderate tier; specific session fees were not provided and should be confirmed directly.

Prospective clients typically begin with an initial consultation to discuss their presenting concerns — whether anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or workplace stress — and to assess the counsellor's approach. From there, the counsellor will recommend a session frequency and format (individual, couples, or group) and outline any intake paperwork. It is worth confirming the counsellor's qualifications, their specific therapeutic modality (CBT, person-centred, psychodynamic, or other), whether sessions are available in-person at Serangoon Central or via telehealth, and the cancellation policy before committing to a package.

To take the next step, contact Silver Ribbon Singapore by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to ask about session availability, current fees, and counsellor credentials before booking your first appointment.

I understand some others might have had experiences with their sessions that didn’t meet the expectations. However, I have to share my own experiences to do Silver Ribbon some justice. Among all the NGOs and gov-funded orgs in Sg, they were the fastest to respond to my request for free counselling and offered high-quality counselling sessions (24hr helplines are in a different category so they aren’t included in this discussion). Even though only one counselling session is available per person each month, it’s still better than nothing. And we have to understand this is an NGO with limited funding. I really hope Silver Ribbon keeps up with the good work coz there are people out there who can benefit tremendously from a helpful counselling session! And I hope you can get more funding so that more slots can be available.

Won't recommend this place as I was told to visit them for my issues but the service there is bad and wasn't helpful at all. Would recommend to seek help somewhere else. This place isn't the place to go.

Advocacy is just for show. You are really on your own. The first session was like this, I don't think we can help you further but they will always let you book a session with the counsellors. From the first session with the counsellor I had doubts whether I should have another session. Does the cousellor care? One should never leave a couunselling session wondering if the counsellor was hinting that you should not call again. The advocacy is just what I suspect it to be: Public relations. Again love to leave an anonymous name as there is a lot of mental health stigma in this country.

Very unaccommodating, unprofessional advocates of mental health. They make you bend over backwards to get their service and deliver nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Silver Ribbon Singapore charge per session?

Silver Ribbon Singapore has not published a specific per-session rate; pricing is indicated at a moderate tier. Singapore market norms for counselling sessions run S$80–200 per 50-minute session at private practices, with subsidised rates available at some charitable organisations. It is worth asking whether a sliding-scale or means-tested fee is available, and whether a package reduces the per-session cost versus paying individually. Confirm whether there is a first-consultation fee, what the cancellation or no-show policy is, and whether GST is charged on top of the quoted rate. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Most counselling services do not require a GP referral to book directly, though a referral can be helpful if you intend to claim under an integrated shield plan or if your insurer requires it. At the first visit you would typically complete an intake form covering your presenting concerns, mental health history, and any current medications or ongoing treatment. If you are managing a complex clinical condition — such as severe depression, psychosis, or active suicidal ideation — a GP or psychiatrist referral is advisable to ensure the counsellor's scope of practice is appropriate and that medical and therapeutic care are coordinated. Contact Silver Ribbon Singapore directly to confirm the intake process and what to bring to the first session.

Is the practitioner at Silver Ribbon Singapore licensed?

Singapore does not yet have statutory licensing for counsellors, but recognised voluntary credentials include registration with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and, for psychologists, listing on the Singapore Psychological Society's (SPS) register or the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) register where clinical or educational psychologist registration applies. No regulatory licences are listed for Silver Ribbon Singapore in the current directory data. Before booking, ask the provider directly for the named counsellor's qualifications (degree, postgraduate diploma, or master's in counselling or a related field), their SAC or equivalent registration number, and their years of clinical practice. Confirm the practitioner's licence or registration on the relevant board's public register before commencing treatment.
