We bought our place in double quick time and needed renovation to complete within 3 months. This is not to incur additional rental expenses in a serviced apartment. My search started in Sept 2021 and I selected 4 IDs based on reviews and portfolios. Joanne Lim/Space Concepts was one of the few who responded quickly to an on-site review, so I can brief in everything I wanted clearly without any rooms for doubts etc. At the end of the day, the other 3 IDs either didn't come back with a complete quote, and one of them, a huge firm, even ghosted me after I requested a briefing session to clarify the whole quotation. As we have tight timelines, Joanne was prompt and attended to us at our old residence. She explained everything clearly and we were comfortable with her response, her pricing and her proposed timelines. So we went ahead and signed the contract. From the word GO, it was smooth sailing. I didn't see a lack of workers nor commitment with regards to Space Concepts. In any renovation, there are bound to be some unknown issues with the new residence. Joanne discovered them quickly and kept us updated with proposed solutions. Engagement with us were frequent and we are always kept up to date. True enough, the renovation was completed on time with some small areas needing touch ups. At all point of time, our opinions were seek and if Joanne feels we are overboard, she will gently steer us back on course with useful advices. Materials used were good and quality is great with proper workmanship. The payment schedule was also reasonable to keep us at ease and inline with progress. There are no mambo jumbo bullsh*t that need to pay upfront as they need to pay workers or buy materials. The extensive project was completed in 3 months flat for a 3.5 storey landed. That included massive renovation internally and externally. A feat which still amazes me. All in all, we are super happy with the whole experience and have recommended Joanne to at least 3 of our other friends who have purchased homes. They in return, been happy with the final outcome. We felt that respect work both ways. We treated our designer, contractors, and workers with kindness and respect. These will be reciprocal to reach a collaborative and smooth renovation experience. We did not demand but compromised on meeting times etc despite our hectic and busy schedules. These little nuggets of compassion are essential. All of us are human and compassion reaped dividends in the whole project. From a contract, we are now friends. This shows that sincerity win hearts.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Space Concepts Design. Joanne, the interior designer truly understood our brief and made the process smooth and stress-free. Joanne and her site supervisor, Andy were very easy to work with, accommodating every single one of our requests with professionalism and flexibility. Joanne also accompanied us on multiple trips to choose our tiles, curtains and fittings, giving us timely advice and updates along the way. Since I was busy, I trusted Joanne and Andy to manage the project, and it turned out beautifully — exactly as we envisioned. The workmanship (esp tiling and carpentry) were of high standard, with only just a couple of minor defects which were promptly and efficiently rectified. Andy also personally assisted us with the installation of some of our own personal items, which was a huge help. Overall, I had a very positive experience with Joanne and her team. I will definitely be engaging her again in the future for my family’s renovations!

After visiting up to 5 IDs, my wife and I chose Space Concept because Joanne did not only come across as a professional interior designer but also someone whom we could trust and build rapport with. My wife loved the design proposed right from the first look and the additional touches caught our attention. The overall price was also reasonable when compared across other quotations. And very importantly, how Joanne made us feel at ease drew us to wanting to work with them. It was one of the best decisions we made for our renovation and there was no regret. Together with her site supervisor, Andy, the duo were attentive to our requests and concerns right from the start. They were prompt in responding to our queries and patient when we needed more time to make decisions along the way. They even went the extra mile by sharing their personal thoughts professionally, most of which we gladly listened and adopted. We felt that the team was running this race with us every step of the way. We were very pleased when we received our home from the team. But what was more valuable was the friendship built with Joanne who is not only great at her craft but also sincere and warm. A renovation project will always have difficulties due to the scale of the undertaking. Thus, it is impossible not to come across any hiccups in the process but important in how they are managed from the scale of what is encountered, and the assurance a home buyer can feel knowing we have nothing to worry about. Space Concepts is a family run business we met after speaking with more than 10 firms, and my wife and I were in immediate agreement. Fees payable was not only extremely reasonable, we were together every step of the way - so easy to contact (please don’t abuse this) - and their sincerity was real. From start to end, Space Concepts just cared, and the entire process made it feel like we were building our dream home with family - the relatives you actually look forward to meeting every CNY with a wide smile. It has been two years since hand over, and we are still in contact, even when seeking advice as a young couple living in our first home (but once again I urge all not to abuse this). In the modern world where there are so many options and groups coming together to form ID alliances, it is easy to follow the trends but these systems are built exactly to intrigue and are just good marketing. Any new couple wouldn’t know what to look out for and the waitlist could be long - which you accept without real understanding. So I say there is no harm in giving them a call, and Space Concepts has my absolute recommendations to anyone reading this. I sincerely believe that a simple conversation and the first look of your estimated costs will show exactly exactly what I have spoken and they have been around for the longest time. Thank you Space Concepts, and it has been one of the easiest reviews I have ever written. Perhaps the happiest too.

They were very attentive to our needs from the beginning, always taking the time to understand what we wanted. More importantly, they advised us on the dos and don’ts, offering practical guidance that ensured our ideas were both beautiful and functional.
