Families typically begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as playgroup places can fill up quickly, particularly ahead of the January intake. During your initial enquiry, it is worth asking about the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the daily routine and curriculum approach, and what the settling-in period looks like for younger children. You should also confirm whether the centre is ECDA-approved, as this determines eligibility for government childcare subsidies available to Singapore citizen children. Bring these questions with you when you arrange a centre visit so you can meet the lead teacher and see the environment first-hand.
To take the next step, reach out to Star Learners directly via phone or their online enquiry form to check current slot availability for your preferred start month and to arrange a visit to the centre.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

Our daughter attended Star Learners @ Thomson from N2. During these 3 years, we could see her flourish under the care of the teachers and staff, and we are very glad we made the decision to let her attend this school. The staff had very low turnover, and the teachers were energetic and caring. As parents, we really appreciated the close communication with the teachers, and the heart and soul the teachers have put into the children's growth and wellbeing. It is in the little things as well - it never ceases to amaze me how much effort the teachers have put into preparing for the frequent events, and keeping us updated with photos! We felt the centre have also prepared the kids well for transiting into Primary 1, without overly stressing them - letting the kids enjoy their childhood and our child always looked forward to going to school. Thank you for everything, Star Learners @ Thomson, we will miss you very much!
We are very grateful to have found this preschool center for our son. The teachers and principal are warm, patient, and welcoming everyday without fail. They are very united as a team. The teachers constantly provide us with helpful feedback and practical suggestions to guide us in managing and training our son at home as well. Example, they helped him with potty training and successfully transitioning out of diapers. My son is also a very picky eater and used to dislike healthy foods such as brown rice, vegetables, and fruits. Thanks to the teachers’ encouragement and dedication, he is now more willing to eat fruits and vegetables. This center has helped tremendously in his overall development, especially in building good habits, improving his eating routines, and supporting his growth. The principal is also wonderful — she remembers every child by name, which shows how much she cares for the children. We highly recommend this preschool center to with a nurturing and supportive environment for their child.
A Truly Exceptional Childcare Experience We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Star Learners @ Thomson. From the very beginning, the care, concern, and attention shown by the teachers have been nothing short of amazing. Their communication is clear and consistent, which gives us great peace of mind as parents. The centre itself is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to support learning and play. It’s also very reasonably priced, offering incredible value for the quality of care and education provided. Our children genuinely enjoy both the curriculum and the wide range of extracurricular activities. It’s heartwarming to see them excited to go to school each day, and even more surprising when they come home sharing things they’ve learned—sometimes things we as parents didn’t even know ourselves! The staff and teachers are truly dedicated, creating a nurturing and enriching environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. We’re incredibly grateful to the entire team at Star Learners @ Thomson for going above and beyond every single day. Highly recommended to any parent looking for a childcare centre that combines heart, quality, and affordability. 🌟
The teachers at Star Learners Thomson are really kind and caring! My son started in N1, and this year, he will be graduating. I can’t thank the teachers enough—they always keep me updated and have helped my son a lot, especially when he was learning to stop using diapers. My son has lazy eyes, and I told the teachers that he often cries when I put on his eye patch at home. But when I do it at school, he doesn’t cry. Yun Lao Shi kindly offered to help put on his eye patch, and they have been doing it every day for over a year! I’m especially grateful to Mr. Jaden, Ms. Clarissa, Ms. Lee, Yun Lao Shi, Wei Lao Shi, Yi Ling Lao Shi, and many others. These are the teachers I’ve met as my son’s class teachers, and they have all been very kind, patient, and supportive. The teachers there are not just colleagues—they are like a big family. They help and support each other, which makes their workplace happy and enjoyable. Because of this, there are not many workplace issues, and they can focus on what really matters—caring for the children. Last year, when the lease was up, we were facing the possibility of needing to transfer our kids to another branch or even a new school if they couldn’t find a new location. It was a very stressful time for the parents, as we really didn’t want to change schools—we love the school and the teachers so much. Thankfully, with the help of the teachers and parents, they managed to find a new location at Mid View City. There are so many kind things they have done that I can’t even list them all. The principal and teachers are truly caring, great with kids, and very good at their jobs.
We’ve had a great experience with Star Learners Thomson. Both our kids attend the centre, and it’s been a warm and nurturing environment for them. The teachers are caring and patient, and really take the time to understand each child. Our kids genuinely enjoy going to school, which says a lot about how engaging and supportive the team is. We also appreciate the consistent communication—we’re regularly updated on their progress, activities, and little milestones. It’s comforting to feel so involved. Overall, we’ve seen steady growth in both our kids, not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Highly recommend Star Learners Thomson to any parent looking for a preschool that truly cares.

Star Learners is priced at a mid-range level on a monthly recurring basis. When confirming fees, ask specifically about the one-time registration fee, the deposit required to secure a place (commonly equivalent to two months' fees at many centres), and any additional charges for uniforms or personal accident insurance. Childcare fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the quoted monthly figure should be the amount you pay. Always request a written fee schedule before signing any enrolment contract. Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed childcare centres may qualify for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care and up to S$300 per month for childcare. Working mothers who clock 56 hours or more of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy. Families with a gross monthly household income of S$12,000 or below may also be eligible for the Additional Subsidy, which can bring total combined subsidies to up to S$710 per month or more depending on income tier. Permanent resident children are eligible for partial subsidies at lower quantum levels. Subsidy rates are subject to change — check directly with ECDA at ecda.gov.sg for the most current figures and to confirm whether Star Learners is an approved centre for subsidy purposes.
Playgroup and childcare places at popular centres in Singapore can fill up several months in advance, and infant care slots in particular are often waitlisted six to twelve months ahead. The January intake is the busiest period of the year, so families targeting that window should begin enquiring by the middle of the preceding year if possible. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and a deposit. Contact Star Learners directly via phone or their enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's intended start month and to understand the specific steps needed to confirm enrolment.
