About The Play Scene

About The Play Scene

The Play Scene is a venue rental provider located at 75 Hillcrest Rd, Singapore 288948, offering event space for hire. KakiList has verified the provider's operating details and contact channels. With a 4.6/5 rating across 36 Google reviews — a moderate sample size — early indications from guests are positive, though prospective hirers should visit in person before committing. Package-based pricing is offered, with availability across a range of event types.

When enquiring, confirm the capacity for your specific event format — standing cocktail, banquet round-table, and theatre seating each return different numbers from the same floor plate, with cocktail typically running 1.5–2 times the banquet seated figure. Clarify whether the venue operates in-house F&B exclusively or permits an external caterer (and whether a corkage fee applies), the aircon hours included in the package, and what A/V equipment — PA system, projector, screen, microphones — is provided versus available as a paid add-on. Also confirm the setup and teardown access windows, as these are often outside the rented slot and can affect your vendor run times. Ask about noise curfew, parking arrangements, and accessibility for guests with mobility needs.

To take the next step, reach out to The Play Scene via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form with your event date, format, and estimated headcount to receive a package quote and check availability. A site recce before paying the deposit is strongly recommended.

We attended The Nutcracker Christmas Special: StarSteps ballet dance class and absolutely loved it. Teacher Summer was patient, warm and engaging, making ballet fun and approachable for young children. The combination of movement, imagination and craft kept the kids interested throughout the session. The receptionist also very friendly and responsive on WhatsApp, which made communication easy and reassuring. It was festive, creative and very well organised. A lovely experience!

Title: Not What Was Expected - Better Options Exist Stars: ★★☆☆☆ We visited for the Hungry Caterpillar theme but left disappointed. The setup didn't quite match the online images or our expectations for the price. The main issue is the facility's design for the advertised age group (toddlers). The large slide, while fun, is surprisingly wide and open, making it stressful for our 2-3 year olds to navigate safely without constant, hands-on spotting. It feels better suited for older children. While having an indoor toilet is a plus, the diaper changing area is very basic and cramped. For a play area catering to little ones, this is a significant oversight in comfort and convenience. It's a decent space, but for the price, we'll be trying other play centers that we feel are better designed for the toddler age group.

We celebrated my son's sixth birthday here recently. It is a really great space with separation of play areas and eating areas. Victoria was fantastic, she kept the children active and entertained. She has high energy and really helps to set this place apart from other children's play areas. I would highly recommend and will use again for sure.

We had the most wonderful time hosting Tara’s 4th birthday here (Brave-themed). It’s such a fantastic space for kids to run, play, and just be joyfully chaotic. Clara did an amazing job planning activities that had all the kids moving, laughing, and completely engaged. Kitty at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and Nicole deserves a special mention for patiently answering my approximately one thousand questions! All in all, an absolutely brilliant party experience with happy kids, happy parents, and a very happy birthday girl. Thank you for making it so special! 🤍

Had my son’s 3rd birthday party there and was pleased with the experience. Staff were all very accommodating and lovely. Thank you! Highlighting the pros and cons of this venue: - allows own catering (most indoor playground’s food is bad, and charges extra for external food or bans it). Also lots of restaurants nearby for easy arrangement. - staff assisted with set up and clean up. Very thankful for that - package includes more than 1 parent per child!! This alone makes it a top venue choice for me. Like…. Do you expect birthday child to only choose 1 parent to attend? And grandparents can’t join? 🙄 I don’t understand why so many places only allow 1 adult per child… - They have nespresso machine with milk frother which was handy. Fridge which eliminated the need for me to get ice. Trash bags, table cloth, cake knife, lighter ready so you don’t need to prepare for them. They also have 2 high chairs which was handy as we have a younger baby. - kitchenette and Toilet on site - 1 hour time for set up in the morning - venue isn’t so small that it was too crammed, but it’s also not so big where I have to run after the kids. We had 20 kids and more than 20 adults and it felt ok. - customized story telling. My son is obsessed about elevators and mopping and they incorporated those elements to his Mickey themed party. The host dressed up as Minnie and was so kind to the children, she even helped my son get more food because he asked her. He tells me he likes Auntie Minnie multiple times after. - I was a bit skeptical about story time with this age group because of their interest and attention span. I would say that even with good efforts, we did lose a lot of kids to the playroom. The host was flexible enough to realize when you cut short the story and just let the kids have fun and do their own things. The playground attached was perfect and was a good fall back for kids who were not interested in the story telling. - the only thing I can complain about is on site parking is not abundant, but it’s not too bad. There are some parking spots within a short walk

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does The Play Scene charge?

The Play Scene uses package-based pricing. Singapore venue rental norms for function rooms run roughly S$100–500 per hour with a 2–4 hour minimum, while small-to-mid event space packages typically start from S$1,500–8,000+ for a half-day booking. Contact The Play Scene directly for a specific quote, as pricing will depend on your event format, headcount, and duration. When reviewing any quote, confirm what is included: aircon hours, basic A/V provision, on-site staff, cleaning, and access for setup and teardown. Common add-ons include external-caterer corkage (typically S$3–8 per pax), extended-hours surcharges (typically 1.5–2 times the standard rate), and equipment rentals. GST should also be factored in. See the full Venue Rental cost guide for Singapore →

What capacity and F&B policy does The Play Scene have?

Confirm the venue's capacity for your specific event format before booking — a space that seats 60 for a banquet may accommodate 90–120 for a standing cocktail reception. Ask for a floor plan and check whether the layout is flexible enough for your setup. For F&B, clarify whether The Play Scene operates its own catering exclusively, permits an external caterer (with or without a corkage fee and an approved-caterer list), or allows BYO. If alcohol is being served, confirm whether a Liquor Licence is in place. For wedding solemnisations, ask whether the venue is a registered ROM solemnisation venue or whether you will need to arrange a Justice of the Peace separately.

What's the booking and cancellation policy at The Play Scene?

Standard Singapore venue practice is a deposit of 30–50% to secure the date, with the balance due one to two weeks before the event. Popular Saturday evening slots — particularly during wedding season in March, April, October, and November — can book out months in advance, so early enquiry is advisable. Before paying any deposit, confirm the noise curfew (typically 10–11pm in residential-adjacent venues), parking availability, lift or ramp accessibility, and what happens if a force-majeure event requires postponement — reputable venues allow rescheduling within 6–12 months without forfeiting the deposit. A site recce before signing is standard practice. See the full Venue Rental cost guide for Singapore →
