About The Therapy Room
The Therapy Room is a counselling practice based at Orchard Shopping Centre, offering services islandwide. It has been verified by KakiList, and holds a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 35 reviews — a moderate sample that suggests consistent client satisfaction. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range level; specific session fees should be confirmed directly with the practice.
For a first visit, prospective clients typically begin by submitting an enquiry via the contact form or calling the practice to discuss their presenting concern — whether that is anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, work stress, or another issue. The practice will then match you with a suitable counsellor and schedule an initial consultation, during which an intake assessment is conducted to understand your goals and history. Subsequent sessions may be individual, couples, or family-based depending on need, and the frequency and duration of engagement are agreed collaboratively. Clients should ask about session length, package options versus single-session bookings, and the cancellation policy upfront.
To take the next step, reach out to The Therapy Room by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to discuss your situation and book an initial consultation.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
I was in a bad shape after battling some major family issues years ago and was extremely thankful to have found The Therapy Room eventually. 👍Dr Gerri and team have been very professional and patient in journeying with me. Would definitely recommend this place ya. :) you check out Dr Gerri on OneFM913 where she shares interesting weekly insights on mental health and various mental well being matters. I would also like to encourage anyone who needs help be forthcoming in seeking therapy and not be afraid of social stigma. Kudos to Dr Gerri and TTR team. 💪
I never saw Dr Tan. This is not a calm space. I was left waiting for 15mins at the receptionist with a child chatting away with his therapist (?) or maybe a nice lady who was minding him, right in the reception space. The radio was playing Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Not what I would expect from a professional set-up. --- Edit: Thanks for your reply, TTR. I hope you'll take the opportunity to consider how you might want to improve your services and environment. I can easily imagine someone feeling depression or anxiety and needing help, travelling all the way to your clinic, only to face such a stressful environment and to be kept waiting with no assurance as to when the therapist, who was already running 15mins late, might be ready for the scheduled appointment. There is definite room for improvement. Also, I did not bear witness to any improvement to any of your patients or charges. My experience was specifically that there was a noisy child (which is fine in most environments) attended to by a lady. All other assumptions of what I saw are yours.
Excellent service and TTR is like family to me.
Awesome, Genuine, and Trustworthy place to be at.
Staff are very friendly :)

The Therapy Room is priced at a mid-range level, though specific per-session rates are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the practice. As a general guide, counselling sessions in Singapore typically run S$80–200 per 50-minute hour for private practitioners, with psychiatrist-led sessions or specialist therapeutic modalities at the higher end. Some practices offer package rates for a block of sessions, which can reduce the per-session cost. Ask whether a sliding-scale or reduced rate applies if cost is a concern, and confirm the cancellation and no-show policy before committing. GST may apply depending on whether the practice is GST-registered. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →
No formal referral is required to book a session at The Therapy Room — you can enquire directly by phone or via the contact form. The first session typically functions as an intake and assessment, during which the counsellor explores your presenting concerns, background, and goals to determine the most appropriate approach and whether the fit is right. If you intend to claim sessions under an insurance policy or an employer's Employee Assistance Programme, a GP referral letter may strengthen your claim — check your plan's terms before booking. Clients with complex psychiatric presentations or medication needs may be advised to have a concurrent relationship with a psychiatrist or GP alongside counselling.
Counselling in Singapore is not yet a statutorily regulated profession, meaning there is no single mandatory licence comparable to the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) for physiotherapists or the Singapore Medical Council for doctors. However, credible counsellors typically hold membership with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or are registered with the Singapore Register of Counsellors, and may hold internationally recognised credentials such as those from the American Counseling Association or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. No specific licences for The Therapy Room are listed in our records. We recommend asking the practice directly for the named counsellor's qualifications, professional membership, and registration details before beginning treatment. Confirm these on the SAC member directory where possible.
If The Therapy Room isn't the right fit, these are other counselling providers on KakiList worth shortlisting. All are independently listed — no affiliate fees, no "featured" sponsorships.
