Subject: Feedback on Meal Delivery Timing Dear Thye Hua Kwan Team, I would like to provide some feedback regarding the meal delivery to my mum’s home. Currently, lunch and dinner are delivered around 10:30 am and 3:30 pm, which is about two hours earlier than her actual mealtime. It would be greatly appreciated if the delivery timings could be adjusted to approximately 11:30 am for lunch and 5:00 pm for dinner, so that the food remains fresh and warm for her. Thank you for your understanding and efforts in improving the service.

My father has recently been discharged from hospital and we have been assigned a ICS (interim care services) personnel from Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities. Her name is Davinia. She is meticulous, shows tremendous initiatives and has gone out of her way in her care of my father. She has been a great support in this difficult adjustment period for my family. We are expressing our gratitude by leaving positive comments over the Web. Thank you Davinia.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities charge per session?

Specific session fees are not published in the listing, so you will need to contact Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities directly to confirm current rates. As a charitable organisation, it may offer subsidised or means-tested fees for eligible clients, which can differ significantly from private-practice counselling rates in Singapore. For context, private counselling in Singapore typically runs S$80–200 per session at commercial practices, while voluntary welfare organisations often charge on a sliding scale based on household income. Ask whether a first-consultation fee applies, whether packages are available, and what the cancellation and no-show policy is before booking. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Many counselling providers at voluntary welfare organisations accept self-referrals — you can contact Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities directly by phone or form without a GP letter. However, some programmes may prioritise cases referred through social service agencies, hospitals, or the Family Service Centre network, so it is worth asking when you call. The first session is typically an intake or assessment appointment where the counsellor gathers background information, clarifies the presenting concern, and determines the appropriate support. If your situation involves a complex mental health condition, the counsellor may recommend a concurrent referral to a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. Bringing any relevant medical or social reports to the first appointment can help the counsellor assess your needs more efficiently.

Is the practitioner licensed?

In Singapore, counsellors are not yet regulated under a statutory licensing body in the same way as physiotherapists (AHPC) or TCM practitioners (TCMPB). The relevant voluntary credentialling body is the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), and members are held to a code of ethics and continuing education standards. Ask Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities whether their counsellors hold SAC membership or an equivalent recognised qualification such as a Master's in Counselling or a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) credential. If clinical psychology or psychiatric services are involved rather than counselling, the relevant registers are the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) respectively — both maintain public directories you can check before your appointment.
