Came for lower back pain. Made appointment at 5.30pm but only got seen at around 6pm because there was a customer before me and this is ok if the treatment works, I can wait. Did consultation with Physician Wu and proceed with acupuncture. Instantly felt better. Physician Wu then told me to get TuiNa too so I did, the TuiNa was fast - only about 2-3 minutes. It was done by a male and seems like an external party. What shock me was the total cost especially the TuiNa. The 2-3 minutes of TuiNa cost $85!??!! Definitely overpriced??!! This is also my first time getting acupuncture. I felt better immediately after the acupuncture but the pain came back about an hour later. I’m not sure about this part, I might need more session.

My children have been visiting for acupuncture, and the results have been amazing. Each time they come in, they leave feeling so much better—both physically and emotionally. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the practitioners are incredibly gentle and knowledgeable, making my kids feel comfortable and at ease. They always look forward to their appointments, and I’ve noticed significant improvements in their overall well-being since we started.

Did acupuncture with Physician Wu for a rib contusion that was still hurting after 2 months. There was immediate pain relief during and after the session, which was amazing! Hopefully it’s a permanent relief. Would recommend for athletes desperate for solutions when painkillers stop working.

I visited Dr. Wu at Choa Chu Kang for acupuncture—my first time here. I’ve been struggling with an arm problem for almost a year, and amazingly, I felt relief immediately after the acupuncture session. Dr. Wu was gentle, professional, and reassuring throughout the process. I’m really glad I came, and I highly recommend this place to anyone considering acupuncture.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Tong An Tang TCM Clinic charge per session?

Tong An Tang TCM Clinic is priced in the mid-range ($$), but specific per-session fees have not been published on this listing. Singapore market norms for TCM consultations typically run S$20–50 for the consultation itself, with acupuncture sessions S$40–100 and herbal prescriptions S$30–80 per week's supply, depending on ingredients. Some clinics bundle consultation and treatment; others bill them separately. Confirm the full session cost — including consultation, treatment, and any herbal prescription — before your first visit. Ask whether a package discount applies for multiple sessions and what the no-show or late-cancellation policy is. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No GP referral is required to attend a TCM clinic in Singapore. At the first visit, you will typically complete an intake form covering your health history, current symptoms, medications, and treatment goals. The practitioner will then conduct a TCM diagnostic assessment — commonly tongue inspection, pulse palpation, and a structured interview — before recommending a treatment plan. If you have a complex or chronic condition, bringing recent medical reports, blood test results, or specialist letters can help the practitioner tailor the approach. A GP referral letter is worth obtaining if you intend to claim the cost through an employer's health benefit or insurance policy, as some insurers require it for reimbursement of complementary therapy.

Is the practitioner at Tong An Tang TCM Clinic licensed?

TCM practitioners in Singapore must be registered with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration covers the specific modalities a practitioner is permitted to perform — for example, acupuncture requires a separate registration from herbal medicine. You can verify any practitioner's registration and permitted scope on the TCMPB public register at moh.gov.sg before booking. No regulatory licences were listed for Tong An Tang TCM Clinic on this listing. Ask the clinic directly for the named practitioner's TCMPB registration number and confirm their permitted practice areas before proceeding with treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the TCMPB public register before treatment.
