About Tong Xin Tang TCM (Chinatown)

About Tong Xin Tang TCM (Chinatown)

Tong Xin Tang TCM (Chinatown) is a traditional Chinese medicine practice located at 441 Pasir Ris Drive 6, #01-58 Neighbourhood Centre, Singapore 510441. The clinic is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a 4.1/5 rating across 20 Google reviews — a moderate sample that offers a reasonable directional signal of patient experience.

Patients typically begin with an initial consultation during which the practitioner takes a full case history, assesses constitution through pulse and tongue diagnosis, and establishes a treatment goal — whether that is pain management, stress relief, digestive health, fertility support, or chronic condition management. From there, a course of treatment is proposed, which may combine acupuncture, tui na, cupping, or herbal prescriptions depending on the presenting condition. It is worth confirming whether sessions are charged individually or packaged, and what the cancellation policy is before committing to a treatment course.

Whilst doctor was great, they consistently made me wait close to an hour past my scheduled appointment time. I’m confident they are aware that this is a frequent occurrence, please ensure each appointment is slightly longer.

POOR customer service, no discipline at all. Upon my scheduled appointment time, the clinic was not open. Punctuality of the physician is also another area of concern! Attitude of the service staff need improvement too. Impatient and keep talking nonsense with others till forgot to prepare medicines!

Dr. Yang is fantastic and a wonderful doctor who has helped me a lot with my health problems, but the Saturday receptionist / assistant (Chinese lady) makes my weekly visits very unpleasant with her terrible and rude attitude. 欺善怕恶的助理, 令病人感到更加不舒服! I would recommend to come on weekdays - during which there is a nice Aunty who works at the reception. Unfortunately, my schedule doesn’t allow me to go on the weekdays so I will have to continue enduring the bad service on Saturdays. Lol.

Affordable and very knowledgeable TCM doctor. Although waiting time can be long, but she explains to her patients the reasons for illness and how to prevent it. The only TCM doctor that does this. She could easily made more money by just providing medicine without explaining due to her pack schedule. Yet she forgo opportunity costs and prioritises patient's health.

Slow and lousy service. Female Doctor taking own sweet time talking to patient about non related to treatment. My advice is not to go on Saturday evening. To make things worse, already fixed appointment but have to let another patient go first as they are regulars.

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No referral is required to visit a TCM clinic in Singapore. Your first appointment will typically include a consultation during which the practitioner reviews your health history, current medications, and presenting complaint before performing pulse and tongue diagnosis. It is helpful to bring a list of any Western medications or supplements you are taking, as some herbal formulas have known interactions. If you have a complex or chronic condition — such as hypertension, diabetes, or cancer — it is advisable to inform your managing GP or specialist that you are seeking TCM treatment. For insurance reimbursement purposes, some Integrated Shield Plans and corporate wellness schemes accept TCM receipts, though a GP referral may be needed to trigger the claim.

Is the practitioner at Tong Xin Tang TCM (Chinatown) licensed?

In Singapore, all practising TCM physicians must be registered with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration is verifiable on the TCMPB public register at moh.gov.sg. Practitioner registration covers the specific modalities the physician is licensed to perform — acupuncture requires a separate TCMPB endorsement beyond basic TCM registration. No TCMPB or other regulatory licence is currently listed for Tong Xin Tang TCM (Chinatown) in this directory. Before booking, ask the clinic for the treating physician's full name and TCMPB registration number, then cross-check on the public register. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
