Patients typically begin with a first consultation at which the physiotherapist takes a clinical history, identifies the presenting condition or rehabilitation goal — whether post-surgical recovery, musculoskeletal pain, neurological rehabilitation, or sports injury — and designs a treatment plan. Sessions may be one-off assessments or part of a recurring course of treatment. It is worth confirming in advance whether appointments are covered under MediShield Life, a company health insurer, or an Integrated Shield Plan, and whether a GP or specialist referral is needed to access subsidised rates as a public-hospital outpatient.
To get started, contact TTSH Physiotherapy by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm appointment availability, referral requirements, and whether your condition falls within the service's scope.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
Had a great session with my physiotherapist, Darren Lim at TTSH (clinic B1C) today. He found a "sweet spot" where the shooting pain down my right arm can be relieved, by retracting my shoulder blades, and taught me a couple of exercises to strengthen my serratus, it gives me hope despite the condition. Thanks again Darren, you're a blessing!
I am writing on behalf of my sister to commend Dr Tan Jia Xian, a young physiotherapist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital Physiotherapy Clinic B1C, whom she consulted this morning (26 Dec 2025). My sister sought treatment for sore and inflamed knees, as well as finger discomfort, which developed from regularly carrying and lifting her one-year-old grandson. From the start of the session, Dr Tan demonstrated a high level of professionalism, patience, and care. He took the time to listen attentively to her concerns, assessed her condition thoroughly, and explained the causes of her symptoms in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Dr Tan was especially commendable in demonstrating appropriate exercises tailored to her condition. He explained each movement carefully, ensured she understood the correct techniques, and reassured her throughout the session. His calm and encouraging approach helped my sister feel confident and well cared for. We are truly grateful for Dr Tan Jia Xian’s dedication, clarity, and compassionate service. He is a credit to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the physiotherapy profession. Please convey our sincere appreciation to him for his excellent care.
Poly Clinic referred me for Physiotherapy. Miss Jewel is my therapist; she is a friendly person who guided me with my injuries.

As a public hospital outpatient service, physiotherapy fees at TTSH vary depending on whether you are seen as a subsidised or private patient. Subsidised outpatient physiotherapy sessions typically run S$20–60 per session after government subsidy for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents; private or unsubsidised rates are higher, generally S$80–180 per session, which is broadly in line with the Singapore market for hospital-based physiotherapy. Confirm with the department whether a referral letter from a GP or specialist is required to access subsidised rates, and whether your MediShield Life plan, company insurer, or Integrated Shield Plan covers outpatient physiotherapy. Package or course-of-treatment pricing may also be available for ongoing rehabilitation. See the full physiotherapy cost guide for Singapore →
For hospital-based physiotherapy at TTSH, a referral from a GP or specialist is typically required to be seen as a subsidised outpatient — walk-in access at subsidised rates is generally not available. If you are attending as a private patient, direct booking may be possible, but it is worth confirming by phone before your visit. Your first appointment will include an intake assessment covering your medical history, current symptoms, mobility and functional status, and any relevant imaging or surgical notes. Bring any existing referral letters, specialist reports, and a list of current medications. If your condition is complex or post-operative, the physiotherapist may coordinate with your treating doctor before finalising the treatment plan.
Physiotherapists in Singapore are regulated under the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), and all practising physiotherapists must hold a valid AHPC registration. You can verify any individual physiotherapist's registration on the AHPC public register at ahpc.edu.sg before or after your appointment. No regulatory licence details are currently listed for TTSH Physiotherapy on KakiList. As this is a department within Tan Tock Seng Hospital — a public healthcare institution — clinical staff are expected to meet MOH and AHPC requirements, but you should confirm the registered status of the specific physiotherapist you will be seeing. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the AHPC public register before treatment.
