Working with Karen and Jamie was honestly a great experience. What stood out most was their ability to understand what we wanted even when our instructions were, at best, abstract. Phrases like “simple but not too plain” somehow made complete sense to them, and they turned that into design choices that matched my wife's vision perfectly. Karen’s experience really showed throughout the renovation. She was extremely detailed and took the time to explain everything clearly, right down to practical considerations like how carpentry doors would open. Jamie and Karen also patiently sat with my wife through hours of laminate selection comparing shades that looked identical to me but somehow still managed to narrow everything down calmly and decisively. These were things I definitely wouldn’t have thought about until it was too late, so her guidance helped us avoid many potential “why didn’t we think of this earlier” moments. Both Karen and Jamie were very hands-on, responsive, and proactive in resolving issues whenever they came up, which made the entire process much less stressful. Even after the renovation was completed, they continued to check in and make sure everything was in good condition, which we really appreciated. Shoutout to their vendors as well we met them during site visits and found them friendly, professional, and clearly proud of the quality of their work. Overall, the entire journey felt well managed from start to finish. I’d highly recommend Karen and Jamie to anyone looking for designers who listen carefully, interpret brilliantly, and take full ownership of the project.

We found this company by chance on Google, and after screening other IDs, we felt we resonated most with Shalini. She thoughtfully refines ideas and advises what will actually work in a real home. As first-time homeowners, we truly appreciated her honesty and guidance throughout the process. My brief was simple, but the execution exceeded expectations, especially the curved carpentry work. She also designed a tall kitchen cabinet to hide appliances, which has received compliments, she truly brought our vision to life. Even with a few hiccups along the way, Shalini handled everything calmly and professionally, making the whole process stress-free. We recently completed a renovation for our condo (living room and 3 bedrooms) and had the pleasure of working with Connie from Underrated Studio, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From the very beginning, Connie went above and beyond. With two young kids, practicality was key for us, and she helped us visualise every detail of our space in a way that was not only stylish and timeless but also truly functional for our day-to-day life. She brought fresh ideas and thoughtful suggestions, always keeping our lifestyle in mind. Everything she designed felt tailor-made - elegant, purposeful, and genuinely reflective of our needs. One of the best parts of the journey was visiting their beautiful showroom—we went twice for detailed discussions, and being able to see and feel the materials (the textures, wood finishes, laminates) helped us make confident decisions. It was amazing to see how what we envisioned during those visits was brought to life in our actual home. The 3D renderings they provided were incredibly realistic—what we saw was almost 95% identical to the finished result! In Singapore, cost is always a big concern, and I have to say Underrated Studio was the most cost-effective option out of the three companies we compared. They were fully transparent from the beginning—no hidden costs, no surprises—and delivered incredible value for what we paid. Connie herself is truly one of a kind. She is super dedicated, checking on each stage of the renovation to ensure everything went smoothly. Even the painting job across the entire unit was top-notch. We were initially introduced to Underrated through a close friend’s recommendation, and now we’re happily passing that recommendation on. They also occasionally run festive promotions, which offer great value and some generous rebates.
