About Villa Halia Singapore Botanic

About Villa Halia Singapore Botanic

Villa Halia Singapore Botanic is a venue rental and events space situated within the Ginger Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site at 1 Cluny Road. Listed on KakiList as verified, the venue holds a 4.3 out of 5 rating across 2,575 Google reviews — a robust sample that reflects consistent guest experience. Pricing is positioned in the mid-to-upper range, indicated by the $$ tier, and is structured around event packages rather than a straight hourly room rate.

Enquiries typically begin with a site visit to assess the garden setting, natural lighting, and indoor-outdoor layout before confirming a booking. The venue suits a range of event formats — standing cocktail receptions, seated banquet dinners, wedding solemnisations, corporate gatherings, and private dining — with capacity varying meaningfully by layout. Prospective clients should confirm in-house F&B arrangements and whether an external caterer is permitted (and any applicable corkage), the A/V provision included in the package, aircon hours for the enclosed spaces, noise curfew (the Botanic Gardens setting may have specific restrictions), setup and teardown access windows outside the rented slot, parking at the Botanic Gardens car parks, and accessibility for guests with mobility needs. For wedding solemnisations, clarify whether the venue is a registered ROM location or whether a Justice of the Peace must be arranged independently.

To proceed, contact Villa Halia Singapore Botanic directly to check date availability, request a floor plan with capacity figures for your preferred event format, and arrange a site recce before paying any deposit.

Finally tried this restaurant although it has been around for more than 20 years. For appetizers we had the burrata which was very good. Tried the barramundi (salmon sold out). Surprisingly it was very good. I didn't quite care for the couscous salad. I didn't enjoy the chili crab pasta which was on the sweet side. The lacto chicken breast was soft and silky but for me the sauce lacked a punch. I feel the chicken was neutral tasting hence needed something stronger than the vinaigrette like sauce. The dish came with a few slivers of octopus which was good. The star of the night was the artichoke and mushroom salad which was divine. We finished off with two desserts - the chocolate and the peanut butter one (forgot the exact name). Both were good but the chocolate one was decadent and had mango puree and a sour cherry filled chocolate ball. Yumz.

Ambience especially at night is really great. Not that ideal though if celebrating anniversary or romantic as the place is rather small. But service top notch, anniversary cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary Food wise definitely halibut is good (similar to Chinese wedding fish dish) and lamb rack is soft tender. The vegetable serving was a bit weird (half an empty plate). The mint drink was definitely refreshing

Randomly popped by The Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens and went for the set dinner for two. The dishes recommended to us were spot on in flavour, presentation and portion, and made the whole meal feel like a well-curated experience. Special shout-out to Ms Zuhaidah, who was very friendly and took the time to walk us through the set menu, explaining and recommending each dish with real pride. Her warm, attentive service elevated the evening and made us feel very well taken care of. We were sad to learn that The Halia will be closing in March, which makes this visit even more special. Thank you to the team and to Ms Zuhaidah for the wonderful experience and exemplary service — a memorable meal in a beautiful garden setting.

Ordered a 3-course set meal dinner for $60 before GST and service charge. Starter: Burrata served with chilli was a weird combination. Scrapped away the chilli. Brocollini had a few grains of popcorn and ikan bilis that felt out of place. It was supposed to come with parmesan and chicken but only a few thin strands of chicken was served. Main: Salmon fillet skin was crispy but too salty. Gado-gado salad had too much coconut milk and was too salty. Served with fish roe which was a weird combination as well. Inconsistency in food presentation of the salmon for both mains. Dessert: not bad, the only saving grace of the set meal. But popping candy with the chocolate dessert felt very extra and unnecessary. Tea: tasted like lipton tea. Served with UHT milk. Would expect higher quality tea and milk for this kind of price. Overall disappointing experience with subpar food quality for a $72 3-course meal (after gst and service charge). Will not reccomend.

Fantastic dining experience at Halia restaurant. Celebrated my hubby's birthday and our anniversary here. Ambience is very apt for the occasion. Good for talking and catching up. And food and service are great too! Forgot to take the picture of the paperbag halibut. Love it! ❤️ and the waiter after knowing it's our special occasion, served us a cake which was lovely and delicious. Fantastic service 👏

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Villa Halia Singapore Botanic charge?

Villa Halia Singapore Botanic prices events as packages rather than a straight hourly rate, which is common for garden and heritage venue settings. For comparable boutique venue spaces in Singapore, event packages typically run S$1,500–8,000+ for smaller gatherings and S$8,000–30,000+ for larger full-day or evening events, though the exact figure depends on the day of the week, headcount, duration, and F&B selections. Itemise what the package covers before signing: aircon hours for enclosed spaces, basic A/V (PA system, microphone, projector or screen), on-site staff, and cleanup. Add-ons to confirm separately include extended-hours surcharges, photography or videography permits, and whether in-house F&B has a minimum spend per pax or whether an external caterer attracts a corkage charge. Parking at the Botanic Gardens car parks is a pass-through for guests. See the full venue rental cost guide for Singapore →

What capacity and F&B policy does Villa Halia Singapore Botanic have?

The venue spans indoor and outdoor areas within the Ginger Garden, so capacity differs considerably by configuration — standing cocktail receptions typically accommodate 1.5–2× the equivalent banquet seated number. Confirm the exact figures for your preferred layout (seated dinner, cocktail, theatre, or solemnisation ceremony) directly with the events team, as the garden-heritage setting may limit certain configurations. F&B at Villa Halia is operated in-house, which is standard for restaurant-venue hybrids. This usually means a minimum F&B spend per pax in lieu of a separate hall-rental fee, and it simplifies logistics since the kitchen and service team are on-site. Confirm whether a BYO wine or spirits arrangement is available (and the corkage rate per bottle), and ask about the menu tasting process for seated dinners. For wedding solemnisations, ask whether the venue holds ROM registration or whether you need to arrange a JP independently.

What's the booking and cancellation policy at Villa Halia Singapore Botanic?

Popular Saturday evenings at an iconic Botanic Gardens setting book out well in advance — 6–12 months ahead is realistic for wedding-season dates (March–April and October–November). A deposit, typically 30–50% of the package value, secures the date, with the balance due 1–2 weeks before the event. Confirm in writing: what the deposit covers, what is refundable versus transferable if circumstances change, and the rescheduling policy in the event of a force-majeure situation such as a public-health restriction or extreme weather. Also clarify the noise curfew (garden venues in residential-adjacent or heritage-zone settings often have earlier curfews, typically 10–11pm), setup and teardown access windows outside the booked slot, and car park arrangements for guests. A site recce before paying the deposit is strongly recommended.
