About Viriya Community Services
Viriya Community Services is a counselling provider based at 72 Shrewsbury Rd, Singapore 307837, serving clients islandwide. The listing has been verified by KakiList, confirming operating details and contact channels. With 7 Google reviews and a rating of 3.4 out of 5, the sample is too small to draw firm conclusions, and prospective clients should treat this signal as directional only.
For those considering counselling at Viriya Community Services, the typical first step is an initial consultation to discuss your presenting concern — whether that is stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, or another area — so the counsellor can assess fit and recommend a suitable approach. It is worth asking whether sessions are individual, couples, or family-based, and confirming whether the practice offers short-term solution-focused work or longer-term therapeutic engagement. Clarify the session format (in-person at Shrewsbury Rd or remote), frequency, cancellation and rescheduling policy, and whether packages are available versus single-session billing.
To take the next step, reach out to Viriya Community Services via phone or the enquiry form to ask about availability, session fees, and which counsellor would be assigned to your case before committing to an appointment.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.

People there are not Helpful. I ran out cash for food. I called whether I can do a walk in, all they can say is to wait for my social worker but he is on leave. Back only on Monday! Am I suppose to go and Beg. What kind of system this?! They just don't care. Previously, they helpful but it's getting worst when they changed my social worker. They are not in need, they take it easy. Can any social worker in there help me with financial help? ,, Previously they help with $200 about 4 to 5 years. Now just don't care. One staff told me she get the social worker to contact me, no response at all. Is this wha you represent, just don't care.

Viriya Community Services has not published a specific session rate in the available listing data — the pricing is indicated at a mid-range level. As a community services provider, fees may be means-tested or offered on a sliding scale depending on household income, so it is worth asking directly when you make an enquiry. For context, counselling in Singapore typically runs S$80–200 per session at private practices, with community-based providers often charging less. Confirm whether a first-consultation fee applies, whether packages are available at a reduced per-session rate, and what the cancellation or no-show policy is before booking. Many community counselling providers accept self-referrals — you can contact Viriya Community Services directly via phone or their enquiry form without a GP letter. That said, arriving with a brief written summary of your concerns can help the intake process and ensure you are matched with a counsellor whose experience aligns with your needs. If you are managing a clinical condition such as depression, an anxiety disorder, or trauma, a GP referral can be useful: it may support a claim under Integrated Shield Plans that cover psychiatric or psychological outpatient treatment, and it gives the counsellor useful background. For complex presentations, an initial psychiatric assessment from a restructured hospital or polyclinic may be recommended before or alongside counselling. Confirm contraindications and the intake process directly with the provider.
No regulatory licences are listed for Viriya Community Services in the current data. Counselling in Singapore does not yet have mandatory statutory licensing equivalent to physiotherapy or TCM, but credentialled counsellors typically hold membership with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or are registered with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) if they practise as psychologists. Before booking, ask for the name and qualifications of the counsellor assigned to you, their SAC or SPS registration number if applicable, and whether they carry professional indemnity insurance. If the work involves children, youth, or vulnerable adults, also ask about safeguarding training and supervision arrangements. Confirm the practitioner's licence or professional registration on the relevant body's public register before committing to treatment.
