About Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo

About Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo

Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo is an ophthalmology practice based at Mount Alvernia Hospital, St Anne Mother & Child Centre on Thomson Road, serving patients islandwide. The clinic has been listed and verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licences have been confirmed in the data provided. It holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 69 reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier; specific consultation fees were not supplied, so prospective patients should contact the clinic directly for current rates.

As a paediatric-focused eye clinic situated within a mother-and-child hospital setting, the practice is positioned to assess and manage conditions common in children and adults alike — including myopia progression, amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (squint), and general eye health. Parents bringing a child for the first time would typically book a first consultation by phone or the online enquiry form, attend with any prior optical prescriptions or referral letters, and expect the doctor to conduct a full eye examination including visual acuity, refraction, and where indicated, cycloplegic drops to obtain an accurate reading in younger patients. A treatment or monitoring plan would follow, with return appointments scheduled according to clinical need — myopia management in school-age children, for example, often involves three- to six-monthly reviews.

To make an appointment, contact the clinic directly via phone or the enquiry form on their listing, and ask for the current consultation fee, the lead time for first appointments, and whether a GP or polyclinic referral letter is required for any Integrated Shield Plan or MediSave claim.

Dr. Cheryl Ngo is an incredible doctor. We started going to her clinic a year ago for my daughter's eye treatment. The whole experience has been very pleasant, and she has handled my daughter well. She is very gentle, approachable, and patiently listens to all of our concerns. We recently got the surgery done after trying other methods. We are glad that the surgery went well under her care. The post-surgery care experience was also great, she was always helpful and was replying to our concerns even on holidays. All the staff is also very helpful and responsive. Thanks once again, Dr. Cheryl and team.

I am truly blessed to be recommended by a skin specialist who is seeing my daughter for her extensive ezcema. My daughter had cataract on both eyes due to long steroid use in her previous treatment and only God knows how anxious we are when she suddenly complains of blurred vision and cloudiness in her eyesight. Dr Cheryl Ngo addressed our concerns & anxiety with high level of professionalism and care. She is truly empathetic and caring and arranged for urgent surgery for my daughter. Dr Cheryl Ngo is God sent. To my daughter she is an angel. Dr Cheryl is one of the kindest & most patient doctor we have ever known. Thank you Dr Cheryl ❤️We are also thankful to Valerie, for her awesome support, she is so gentle and so assuring and knowledgeable when carrying out eye tests. She is truly an asset to the clinic. I would strongly recommend Ace Clinic to my friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo charge?

Specific consultation fees were not provided in the available listing data, so you should contact the clinic directly for current pricing. As a guide, private specialist ophthalmology first consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Common add-ons include cycloplegic refraction, visual field testing, fundus photography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans, each billed separately. Spectacle prescriptions and contact lens fittings carry their own fees. For any planned procedures — such as myopia control treatment, eye injections, or minor eyelid surgery — request a written financial counselling estimate upfront that clearly separates the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions. GST applies on private medical services. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration has been confirmed in the data provided for this listing, which limits the ability to independently verify the clinic and doctor from this source alone. Every legitimate private eye clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence (verifiable on the MOH licensee directory), and the consulting ophthalmologist must appear on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg — search by the doctor's name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Ophthalmology, and any disciplinary history. Prospective patients are strongly encouraged to verify both the clinic licence and Dr Cheryl Ngo's SMC entry directly before booking. For surgical procedures, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Ophthalmology or a Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) is the meaningful additional credential to look for beyond basic SMC registration.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Adult and Child Eye Clinic Dr Cheryl Ngo?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations and planned procedures subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For any planned eye procedure — such as vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery, or eyelid procedures — confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before the procedure to avoid claim disputes afterwards. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient ophthalmology treatments under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits. Paediatric eye consultations that are purely diagnostic (refraction, spectacle prescription) are generally not MediSave-claimable. For children, check whether the consultation qualifies under the Chronic Disease Management Programme if a chronic eye condition is being managed. Request a financial counselling session at the clinic before any procedure to obtain an itemised written estimate — this is the single most effective step to avoid an unexpected bill.
