A first consultation at a private paediatric orthopaedic specialist typically runs S$120–250. Parents can attend either through a direct self-pay walk-in or with a referral letter from a polyclinic or GP, which may support an Integrated Shield Plan claim. At the initial appointment, Dr Lee will review the child's presenting concern — which may include limb deformity, gait abnormality, scoliosis, fractures, sports injuries, or developmental bone and joint conditions — before determining whether investigations such as X-rays, blood panels, or an MRI are needed. A management plan is then discussed with the family, with follow-up scheduled according to the condition's complexity. Parents should bring any prior imaging, reports from developmental assessments, and their child's vaccination records for reference.
To book an appointment, contact BJIOS Orthopaedics Paediatric Dr Peter Lee directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form, and ask for a written financial counselling estimate — including any investigations and the out-of-pocket portion after insurance and MediSave — before the visit.

We will forever be grateful to Dr Winston Chew for his exceptional skill, compassion, and patience during my son’s treatment and recovery. My 20-year-old son was injured on his 3rd day of BMT, developed sudden bilateral tremors, numbness in all fingers, and constant tingling in both upper limbs. He was assessed by the camp MO and referred to 2 public restructured hospitals. Long story short, consulted 2 specialists in public restructured hospital. The Neurologist suggested could be just anxiety issue due to BMT, and scheduled for NCS/EMG test about 2 months later. The Orthopedic Surgeon saw my son’s condition, and just said to wait for Nerve test. 😒😑 His condition worsens daily, we decided to seek private specialist consult under our INCOME insurance panel, which led us to Dr Winston Chew Yoon Chong. From the first consult, Dr Chew examined my son with exceptional care and concern. His early clinical assessment was incredible, suspected it was more than carpal tunnel, and even simple manoeuvres (including elbow positioning) revealed signs suggesting ulnar nerve issues, and more importantly, possible brachial plexus involvement. He immediately arranged for MRN and NCS/EMG, which were completed within a week. Below diagnosis matched what he suspected: 1. Bilateral thoracic outlet syndrome 2. Bilateral ulnar neuropathy with anterior subluxation of the ulnar nerve at the elbow 3. Bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome Dr Chew, together with Dr Andrew Yam, has since completed my son’s surgeries on both sides. He is now starting the long, gradual physiotherapy and recovery journey, with close follow-up by Dr Chew and our physiotherapist, Ms Derserri Yan, another priceless gem. Words cannot adequately express how grateful we are to Dr Chew, and to Dr Yam for assisting with both surgeries.🙏🙏 Lastly, my sincere thanks to the BJIOS team — Lee Chiang, Sandy, Vivian, and Zhang Yan. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to patients and families are truly exemplary. Any clinic or company should send their service staff to learn from them what the benchmark for excellent service looks like.
Dr Khong is amazing! Gentle, knowledgeable and patient. He performed my surgery for De Quervain's tenosynovitis and I could not be happier with the results. Grateful for the nurses as well who take such good care of their patients.
Dr Chong is friendly, very knowledgeable and experienced. He made sure that my questions pertaining to my ankle condition and surgery were well explained and understood. I'm thankful to the professional and caring team, especially Dr Chong, Physiotherapist Wen Jie who goes extra mile to ensure each physio session are done well and Christina who is friendly and resolves the administrative issues you may have. Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend BJIOS to others!
Today marks 12 weeks post op for a compound heel fracture which repair necessitated the implants of multiple screws as well as the use of bone chips. The best outcome I had sought has been delivered as evidenced by my ability to take "baby steps" now. Primarily, the credit goes to DR CHONG KEEN WAI, the able surgeon - vouched by our rehab contacts who have personally seen the quality of his finished works over the years. Also praiseworthy and noteworthy is, this orthopedic clinic offers a heightened level of services. It is fitted out with the essential facilities such as the diagnostic x-ray and physiotherapy units - which wholly eliminate the usual inconveniences for their patients. I appreciate the thoughtful and seamless flow of related services they have created. It exceeds my expectations.
no money no talk for Bjios. spent nearly 2k here to consult w Dr Chong. saw him for less than 20 mins and he left the clinic even before my MRI was finished. he did not even bother to follow up personally but instructed his staff to follow up with me instead through a phone call and then via email. initially claimed that he could write a referral for me but after that, instructed his staff to email me to go to a polyclinic to get the referral instead. never bothered to ask or follow up with me. basically took my money and ran. after spending that much money, i am still left with no treatment and no doctor. polyclinic doctor even said dr chong had no courtesy to write a note of my condition so she could write my referral. all in all a very bad experience with this clinic and doctor. 2k may mean nothing to some ppl but for a single mom like me, it means alot especially spending it on myself. this clinic only for the well off and for ppl with insurance or company paying for them. otherwise, look elsewhere.

For a private paediatric orthopaedic specialist, a first consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up reviews at S$80–180. If you attend via a polyclinic or GP referral to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic, fees for Singapore Citizens are S$30–80 after subsidy, though non-urgent waiting times of 4–12 weeks are common. Investigations are billed separately: X-rays S$80–150, blood panels S$60–200, ultrasound S$150–400, and MRI S$400–1,800 depending on the region scanned. Any planned procedure or day surgery should be quoted with a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before you commit. GST applies on private medical services. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Orthopaedic Surgery or Paediatric Orthopaedics, and any disciplinary history. No licence details are currently listed on this KakiList profile, so parents should search for Dr Peter Lee by name on the SMC register and check the MOH licensee directory for the clinic at Farrer Park Medical Centre before booking. For surgical work, a Royal College or Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FRCS or FAMS) is the meaningful additional credential beyond basic SMC registration — ask the clinic directly whether the consulting surgeon holds this. Verify both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before booking — neither alone is sufficient.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and obtain a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit, or up to S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions. Separate limits apply for outpatient cancer treatment and selected scans. For any planned orthopaedic procedure — such as fracture fixation, spinal surgery, or corrective limb surgery — request a financial counselling session at the clinic. Most private facilities will issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions in writing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill.
