Dr Lam is very patient and highly knowledgeable in his area of specialty. He always takes the time to thoroughly explain my son’s condition to us and my parents in Mandarin, which we really appreciate. The clinic assistants are also very welcoming and friendly. The only slight inconvenience is that I have to remind the clinic assistants before each appointment with Dr Lam to send the referral form to Mount A’s radiology department before my son can undergo his ultrasound or X-ray. Aside from this, our overall experience at the clinic has always b
I dislocated my knee recently and it was quite scary but I’m glad I went to Bone Island. Dr Lam was very patient and took time to explain everything clearly, like the recovery process, surgery risks (as my condition was quite serious) and how to take care of my leg after it heals. He’s very kind and honest and made me feel comfortable every visit. The clinic staff were also very nice and friendly. I had a very good experience and I’m very grateful for their help. I would definitely recommend this clinic. :)
Very attentive and patient staff and doctors at Bone island.... They showed professionalism and are very detailed with their assessment. My daughter was complaining of knee pain for months, saw a few specialist... After seeing Dr Lam and his team, and with the recommendations of physio sessions,U daughter's knee condition is definitely improving. Thank you Dr Lam.
Dr Lam needs no introduction or review in the field of pediatric orthopedic medicine. As a doctor I had only heard good things about him, and personally when I needed help for my child- he definitely outshone my expectations. Besides being academically brilliant, he is extremely good with kids (mine was a toddler who didn’t cry at all throughout his examination), excellent in bedside manners, and follows a good balance at being neither too conservative or too aggressive. Would highly recommend him.
Dr. Lam is kind, warm, and puts kids at ease. He explains every step clearly and specifies do/donts, leaving you with a clear understanding of how to support your child. The gentlemen who put on the cast/remove are fun, warm, and do things quickly so that there is no room for the kids’ anxiety to grow. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Lam and his clinic.

As a private paediatric specialist clinic, the first consultation is typically S$120–250, with follow-up visits in the S$80–180 range. These figures are before any investigations — a blood panel runs S$60–200, a urine test S$20–60, and an X-ray S$80–150 if indicated. Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme are typically S$30–80 per dose depending on the antigen. GST applies on private medical services. For planned procedures or day surgery, request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before committing. MediSave can be used under the S$500 general outpatient limit or the S$700 CDMP limit for eligible chronic conditions. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
No regulatory licences were submitted to KakiList for this listing. Parents should independently verify two things before booking. First, confirm the clinic holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — this is searchable on the MOH licensee directory. Second, confirm Dr Lam Kai Yet's registration and specialist accreditation on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, which also discloses any disciplinary history. For a paediatric specialist, SMC accreditation in Paediatric Medicine is the relevant credential beyond basic registration. A Royal College or Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FRCS or FAMS) is the meaningful additional signal for sub-specialist practice. Neither the clinic licence nor the SMC entry alone is sufficient — confirm both.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations under the S$500 annual withdrawal limit, or up to S$700 under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions including asthma, diabetes, and selected others. Outpatient cancer treatment, kidney dialysis, and certain scans carry separate MediSave limits. For any planned procedure, ask the clinic for a written financial counselling estimate that clearly splits insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and cash out-of-pocket before paying any deposit.
