Families considering Candy Tree Language Centre would typically start by enquiring about the level and syllabus fit for their child — whether that is the local MOE curriculum, PSLE preparation, or secondary-level work. It is worth asking whether the centre offers group classes, small-group formats, or one-to-one sessions, as each suits different learner profiles. Most language centres offer a trial class before a term commitment is made, so do ask whether that option is available here. It is also sensible to confirm the term structure, any advance payment required, and whether online learning is offered alongside in-person attendance at the Bukit Panjang centre.
To take the next step, contact Candy Tree Language Centre via phone or their enquiry form to ask about current availability, the class schedule that matches your child's level, and whether a trial session can be arranged before signing up for a full term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Both Liu Lao Shi and Li Lao Shi are experienced, responsible, and dedicated teachers. They are current/former MOE teachers who continue to teach in MOE school, ensuring they stay updated with the latest curriculum and exam formats. Initially, I was concerned about how my daughter would benefit from a class with students of varying levels, but they assured me with their effective use of differentiated teaching. If you are looking for a tuition centre that tailors its teaching pace to your child's need, Candy Tree is the perfect choice. Their teaching materials are highly effective, reinforcing vocabulary and idioms from previous lessons. They also encourage students to memorise the points from oral exercises, which not only enhances oral exam performance but also improves composition writing. Additionally, Liu Lao Shi and Li Lao Shi consistently provide sincere and timely feedback about my children 's progress. They also work closely with parents to ensure continuous improvement. This stand in stark contrast to my previous experiences with other Chinese tuition centers, which rarely provided feedback or offered only generic, unhelpful comments. I would like my express my appreciation to Candy Tree Language Centre!
My son joined Candy Tree Learning Centre in Primary 4. Before enrolling, his academic performance was consistently average. He often lost marks due to incomplete answers, struggled with exam techniques, and found it difficult to achieve high scores, especially in comprehension and composition. His results remained stagnant, and he couldn't grasp the correct way to approach questions. After joining Candy Tree, a significant change occurred. Under the meticulous and expert guidance of Liu Laoshi, my son gradually mastered key answering techniques. He methodically followed Liu Laoshi's approach, learning how to provide comprehensive and accurate responses. His academic performance saw remarkable improvement as a result in few months. Composition was another major challenge. His essays often lacked substance, and frequent careless spelling mistakes led to substantial mark deductions, resulting in consistently low scores. Liu Laoshi demonstrated exceptional skill in personalized teaching. She accurately identified my son's issues and specifically to help him overcome his habitual spelling errors. We were delighted to see that, with the teacher's persistent guidance, his spelling problems significantly improved. From initially average results, he went on to achieve outstanding results in the PSLE: AL1 for Chinese and Distinction for Higher Chinese. This remarkable transformation has been truly gratifying. We are deeply grateful to Liu Laoshi and Li Laoshi for their dedicated efforts and exceptional teaching. Their professional guidance helped my son discover effective learning methods, and achieve tremendous progress leading to excellent results. We highly recommend Candy Tree Learning Centre!
Ms Liu has been my Chinese and Higher Chinese teacher from Secondary 3 to 4. She has helped me in my O level Chinese and higher Chinese examinations. Her method in teaching is clear and she is also quick to catch on my mistakes to help me improve. She also provides a vast amount of resources and exercises for us to practice with. I went from failing my compositions and scraping a bare pass in comprehension to ultimately attaining an A1 for Chinese and A2 for HCL respectively. She also teaches with a lot of sincerity, by providing additional lessons to help during that crucial period and also having extra consultations with her. Candy Tree has definitely helped improve me Chinese!
We decided to sign up with Candy Tree due to the proximity in location initially but very glad that we made the right choice a year ago! My child used to be very weak in Chinese as we were quite late in introducing tuition/enrichment programs to him. I recall my comments to 刘老师 back then about him were that he disliked conversing in Mandarin, and had difficulty in word recognition. A year on, I noticed that he can read more words and has less resistance to learning Chinese in general. We were pleasantly surprised with his recent Year End results too, given that he used to fail/borderline pass his P2 papers. Communicating with the teachers here (刘老师,李老师) had been a breeze and I can truly feel their patience and sincerity in wanting my boy to be better, progressing at his own pace. It is very thoughtful of them to organise Children's Day/Graduation party with many activities for their students to have fun and even extended invites to their siblings! Appreciate that Candy Tree offers trial class and referral program this year so parents can enjoy savings while signing up fellow siblings. We learned it is better to instill habits and build up the child's confidence in learning Chinese early on.
My son has been with this tuition center for four years and his Chinese has improved drastically since then. Classes are also small in size so that the teachers can cater to all students (usually 3-6 students per class; or less). For those who require extra resources, this tuition centre provides a lot upon the request of their students such as extra worksheets, 词语单, 成语单, answering techniques etc. Teachers here are also very warm and friendly, would definitely recommend parents/students to sign up for their lessons if they are trying to catch up with school curriculum.

Candy Tree Language Centre lists its pricing at the mid-range tier ($$), but specific per-session or monthly fees are not publicly displayed. Tuition centres in Singapore typically charge on a per-session basis, as part of a monthly package, or across a fixed term. Rates vary depending on whether the class is group-based or one-to-one, the subject level, and the duration of each session. There may also be a separate materials or registration fee at the point of enrolment, and sibling discounts are worth asking about if you are enrolling more than one child. Many language tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class — either at a reduced rate or at the standard session fee — before asking families to commit to a term or monthly package. A trial gives you and your child a chance to assess whether the teaching pace is appropriate, whether the class size feels comfortable, and whether the tutor's style suits your child's learning needs. When attending a trial, pay attention to how the tutor explains concepts, whether your child feels engaged, and whether the level of the class matches the curriculum your child is following. It is reasonable to ask after the trial what the full term commitment and cancellation terms look like before signing up.
Credential details for the tutors at Candy Tree Language Centre are not publicly listed. When enquiring, it is worth asking directly about each tutor's educational background, whether they hold a degree in the relevant language or a related field, and whether any tutors have NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience. Syllabus alignment is equally important — confirm that the tutors are familiar with the current MOE language curriculum, examination formats, and any specific requirements for the level your child is in. If the centre teaches additional curricula such as IB or IGCSE, ask whether tutors have direct experience with those syllabuses. Do not hesitate to request this information before committing to a term.
