About Cindy Hia Clinic For Children And Paediatric Cardiology

Cindy Hia Clinic For Children And Paediatric Cardiology is a paediatric and paediatric cardiology practice located at 38 Irrawaddy Road, #08-34, Singapore 329563, serving families islandwide. KakiList has confirmed operating details and contact channels. Based on 10 Google reviews, the clinic holds a rating of 2.7 out of 5 — this is a very small sample and should be treated as directional only; prospective patients are encouraged to seek additional references before booking. No regulatory licences are currently listed in this directory entry, and no ACRA registration has been confirmed; parents are advised to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council registration independently before attending.

Parents typically access a paediatric cardiology specialist either through a direct private appointment or via a polyclinic or GP referral letter to reduce waiting times or qualify for subsidised rates at a public hospital outpatient clinic. For a private specialist first consultation, expect fees of approximately S$120–250, with investigations such as an echocardiogram, ECG, chest X-ray, or blood panel billed separately. If your child's condition falls under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule or involves developmental milestones, these can be reviewed alongside any cardiac concerns at the consultation. For planned procedures or follow-up care, request a written financial counselling estimate that clearly sets out what your Integrated Shield Plan, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions will cover — MediSave withdrawal limits of S$500 per year apply for general outpatient use, with additional allowances under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for eligible conditions.

To take the next step, contact the clinic directly by phone or via the enquiry form to confirm appointment availability, the consulting doctor's name and SMC registration, and the clinic's current MOH Healthcare Services Licence status before booking.

Dr Hia has been my boy’s paediatrician since he was a baby. He’s turning five now, and we only make appointments when truly necessary. Dr Hia is an incredibly patient and knowledgeable doctor. My mum is a nurse and has worked with Dr Hia and many other doctors for more than 2 decades before retiring. She personally recommended Dr Hia, and all her grandchildren are under her care as well. There are some qualities and truths behind the scenes that only time and nurses would get to see. We’re very grateful to know Dr Hia and to have her as our boy’s paediatrician.

Dr Cindy is very patience, punctual and responsible. However during bay discharge, Dr Cindy mentioned 3 things. Firstly diaper rash, secondly right clicky hips and might have long short leg and needed treatment to check in a month time. Lastly her heart apex unable to hear. Don’t know heart is left or right or Center. Need to do heart scan and Dr Cindy said she is also a cardiologist. During anatomy scan the heart was ok and normal. The legs and hip seemed ok for me. The things she mentioned made my husband a bit worried and overthink. I brought baby to other PD to check. But other PD told me heart and hip was ok and normal. Heart on left and no clicky hips. Also discharge day, nurse said there is no diaper rash. Just wondering if she misdiagnosed or got the ✘ baby? I’ve feedback to my gynae too.

We consulted Dr. Cindy Hia and found her to be patient in her approach. However, her diagnosis differed from three other specialists whom we subsequently sought for further evaluation. Each consultation and scan took close to two hours, yet the findings remained inconclusive. Dr. Hia did consult her colleague and suggested that we seek her mentor’s opinion, which demonstrated her willingness to seek additional input. Nevertheless, it was only upon the advice of another doctor to obtain a second opinion from a different specialist that we understood the seriousness of the condition. Timely intervention from that second opinion was crucial, and without it, the outcome for our child could have been very different. This experience underscores the importance of always considering a second opinion when there is any uncertainty in diagnosis.

My 3.5yo daughter has been with Dr Cindy since birth. She has a congenital heart disease. Dr Cindy has been so, so patient, kind, generous and gentle with us. Whether it was bad news or good news, she would patiently talk us through it to give us as much information as possible to make informed decisions. Due to her expertise and all the advice she has given us, our daughter who almost required surgery when she was just a few months old is now no longer even on her medication. She's a healthy and happy child, and we really have Dr Cindy to thank for that. She takes time even out of her official work time to respond to us, and doesn't ask us to see her unnecessarily. We can't recommend Dr Cindy enough, especially for a more medically complex child.

I came to see her from overseas. After my 21weeks anatomy scan my OB wanted me to get seen by a specialist for possible hear defect. I came in early, explained my situation and waited until the time i was supposed to be seen. I explained that i came from overseas and have a flight to catch. She didn’t try to see me on time because there were other patients to see. So on top of all the worries and anxiety about the baby’s heart she just failed to see me. I had to leave the clinic to catch my flight back. Worst doctor’s experience who had absolutely no sympathy for her patients.

Private specialist first consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Paediatric cardiology investigations are billed on top of the consultation fee — an ECG is typically S$50–100, an echocardiogram S$300–600, chest X-ray S$80–150, and a blood panel S$60–200. GST applies on private medical services. For planned procedures or inpatient stays, a written financial counselling estimate is standard practice and should itemise what your Integrated Shield Plan (layered on MediShield Life), MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions each cover. Contact the clinic directly to confirm current fee schedules, as pricing is not published in this listing. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Cindy Hia Clinic For Children And Paediatric Cardiology MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate private specialist clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — this is verifiable on the MOH licensee public directory. Every practising doctor in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC); you can search by name at smc.gov.sg to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine or Paediatric Cardiology, and any disciplinary history. No MOH licence or SMC registration is currently listed in this directory entry for Cindy Hia Clinic For Children And Paediatric Cardiology. Parents are strongly encouraged to verify both the clinic premises licence and the named doctor's SMC entry directly before booking — neither alone is sufficient, and both checks take under five minutes online. For a surgical or interventional cardiology procedure, also confirm whether the specialist holds a relevant fellowship such as FRCS or FAMS. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Cindy Hia Clinic For Children And Paediatric Cardiology?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For any planned procedure or admission, contact your insurer in advance to request pre-authorisation and a Letter of Guarantee — this avoids claim disputes after treatment is complete. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items up to S$500 per year under the general outpatient withdrawal limit, or S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for eligible chronic conditions including certain cardiac and paediatric diagnoses. Separate MediSave limits apply for outpatient cancer treatment and kidney dialysis. For a child's cardiac procedure, day-surgery MediSave limits and IP inpatient benefits typically apply — ask the clinic for a written financial counselling estimate before proceeding. Skipping the pre-authorisation step and the written estimate is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill after a specialist visit or procedure.
