About CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery
CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery is a paediatric surgical practice based at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre (#12-04), serving patients islandwide. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channels. With only 4 Google reviews at a rating of 2.8/5, the review sample is too small to draw any reliable conclusions about patient experience, and prospective patients should weigh this accordingly. No regulatory licences are currently listed in this directory entry, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed.
For a paediatric surgical consultation, the typical pathway begins with a referral letter from a GP or polyclinic — this can shorten wait times and, for Singapore Citizens, may support insurance pre-authorisation. At the first consultation, the surgeon will review the child's clinical history, order any necessary investigations (blood panel, ultrasound, or X-ray as indicated), and outline a treatment plan. For planned procedures, parents should request a written financial counselling estimate itemising the surgeon's fee, anaesthesia, hospitalisation, and the split between Integrated Shield Plan (IP) payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs before agreeing to proceed. Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre is a private facility; fees are at private rates with GST applicable.
To arrange a consultation, contact CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery directly by phone or through the enquiry form. Prepare your child's referral letter, past medical records, and insurance or MediSave details, and ask for a written financial estimate at the time of booking. Listing data is incomplete — contact CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery directly to confirm details.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Dr Sim is a very experienced Dr who is technically strong. He is one of the two most senior surgeons in Urology Paediatric Surgery (the other one is Dr Cheah). My kid had a prior operation with KK which was a failure, so I went to Dr Sim for repair. The suture was neatly done and he kept the use of medication to the bare minimum (only antibiotics was used) but everything worked out fine. I appreciate the good judgements he made along the recovery phase, for that I consider him a very good doctor.
In my opinion this Doctor is not very skilled. He carried out operation for undescended testicle on my baby however even after operation I could see only one testicle downside. Upon asking him he said this is what he can do with it. He is not open to talk. Although charged thousands of dollars for operation we had to seek another surgeon for second opinion. I will never recommend this kind of doctor hence forth.
This doctor is not recommended. We went in for a consultation to remove our baby's skin tag. Not much was explained and she was dragged across the table by him during examination. Poor bedside manners from the doctor. Please refer to previous reviews before making a decision to see this doctor. Disappointing visit.

As a paediatric surgical practice at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, fees are at private rates with GST applicable. Investigations billed on top of the consultation may include blood panels (S$60–200), ultrasound (S$150–400), or X-ray (S$80–150). For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate that clearly splits the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portion before committing. No regulatory licences are currently listed in this directory entry for CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery. Every legitimate private clinic should hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Surgery, and any disciplinary history. For surgical specialisms, a Royal College fellowship (such as FRCS) or a Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) in Paediatric Surgery is the meaningful credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the named surgeon's SMC entry before booking — neither alone is sufficient. Because no licences are confirmed in this listing, we recommend verifying directly with the clinic before proceeding.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient procedures, subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms. Confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned surgical procedure to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient services under the S$500/700 withdrawal limits via the Chronic Disease Management Programme, and separately for inpatient and day-surgery procedures. For outpatient cancer treatment, dialysis, and selected scans, separate MediSave limits (S$200/600) apply. For any planned procedure at CK Sim General Paediatric Surgery, request a financial counselling session — a written pre-treatment estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and cash out-of-pocket is standard practice at private facilities and should be provided before you pay any deposit. Skipping this step is the most common cause of bill shock at private hospitals. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
