For a first paediatric consultation, parents typically call ahead to check appointment availability and bring the child's health booklet, vaccination record, and any previous medical reports. The consulting doctor will review presenting symptoms, developmental milestones, and the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule where relevant. Depending on the presentation, investigations such as a blood panel, urine test, or throat swab may be ordered at the same visit. The doctor will outline a treatment plan, issue any prescriptions, and advise on a follow-up cadence. For Integrated Shield Plan (IP) holders, confirm with your insurer whether the consultation and any outpatient investigations fall within your policy's outpatient rider before the visit, as coverage varies significantly by plan.

Dr. Keoy is such a gem! Every time I take my son to see him, I leave feeling so grateful—we’re so lucky to have him! I moved to Singapore just two months before my due date, and even before arriving, I had asked a colleague, whose mom has been working at TMC for more than 20 years, to recommend an obstetrician and a pediatrician. My colleague recommended two pediatricians: one was a female doctor, who was described as being very kind and motherly, and the other was Dr. Keoy. When I asked which doctor was more skilled, my colleague said Dr. Keoy was better. So, even though I hadn’t met him yet, I decided to go with Dr. Keoy. I still remember the first time I met Dr. Keoy—it was in a ward at Thomson Medical Centre. He was wearing a polo shirt, which caught my attention because my husband is a huge polo shirt fan too! Fast forward to now—my son is in Primary 1. Over the years, I’ve tried a few other pediatric clinics, mostly because Dr. Keoy’s clinic doesn’t work with any insurance plans. For example, we went to Dr. Christina at Mount Elizabeth for a while. Her clinic is definitely fancy, with a big TV in the waiting area and all. But the wait times were crazy long, and they kept asking for blood tests and prescribing lots of meds (even though insurance covered it, it wasn’t easy on my kid). What really annoyed me was finding out yesterday that they NEVER UPLOADED RECORDS for two vaccines my son got there! Meanwhile, every single vaccine record for my son has been properly uploaded by Dr. Keoy’s clinic. One time, my son accidentally punctured his ear while playing with a cotton swab. Dr. Keoy not only checked it for free but also recommended a fantastic ENT specialist. Back in the day, if my son got sick on a holiday, I’d rush to KK’s emergency department. But now, I’d rather wait through the night for Dr. Keoy’s clinic to open because I feel so much more at ease knowing my son is in his hands. What I really want to say is this: Dr. Keoy’s clinic might not have all the fancy decor, big TVs, or snacks in the waiting room, but his professionalism and care are truly unbeatable. You can trust him 100%. He’s not super chatty or the kind to engage in small talk, but he always takes the time to patiently answer your questions. His diagnoses are spot on, and he only prescribes what’s necessary—no unnecessary tests or over-treatment. He genuinely cares about his patients and not about making extra money. On top of that, his prices are reasonable and sometimes even cheaper (at least compared to what I’ve paid for vaccines and probiotics elsewhere). The trust we have in Dr. Keoy is built on years of care and experience. I honestly hope his clinic keeps going strong for many, many years. Thank you so much, Dr. Keoy—YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Dr Keoy was my baby son's paediatrician at Thomson Medical Centre. He is clear and concise when conveying information to the parents. We went to his clinic for one follow-up and he was detailed in examining and answering our queries. The waiting time was short even on Saturday. Most importantly, he was very considerate and referred us to a polyclinic for jaundice follow-up voluntarily, without pressurising us to go back to his clinic. The staff at the clinic was friendly as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Dr Agnes Wong Novena Children Clinic charge?

For a private paediatric clinic in Singapore, a first consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Items billed on top of the consultation commonly include vaccinations (S$30–80 per dose depending on the vaccine), throat swabs or rapid antigen tests (S$30–80), blood panels (S$60–200), urine or stool investigations, and any prescribed medications. GST applies on private medical services. For planned investigations or procedures, request a written financial counselling estimate that separates the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before agreeing to proceed. Parents visiting without a referral letter pay the full private rate; a polyclinic or GP referral letter to a public hospital specialist clinic attracts a subsidised rate of S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though waits of 4–12 weeks are typical for non-urgent cases. Is Dr Agnes Wong Novena Children Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg; searching by the doctor's name will confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences are currently recorded in this KakiList listing, which means the above details could not be independently confirmed at the time of publication. Before booking, search the SMC register for the named doctor and cross-reference the clinic address against the MOH licensee directory. Neither check alone is sufficient — both the clinic licence and the doctor's SMC registration should be verified. For paediatric specialists, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) or a Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) in Paediatric Medicine is the meaningful additional credential beyond basic SMC registration.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Dr Agnes Wong Novena Children Clinic?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations and day procedures, subject to each plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm with your insurer whether an outpatient rider is active on your child's policy before the visit, as paediatric outpatient consultations are not covered under the base MediShield Life plan without an outpatient rider. MediSave can be used for outpatient paediatric visits under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits — S$500 per year for general outpatient use, or S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for eligible listed chronic conditions including asthma. Childhood vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme may also qualify for MediSave withdrawal under the approved vaccine list. For any planned procedure, request a pre-treatment financial counselling session so the clinic can issue an itemised estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and cash outlay. This step prevents billing surprises after the appointment.
