About Dr Chong Kids Medical & Eczema Clinic
Dr Chong Kids Medical & Eczema Clinic is a paediatric practice located at Royal Square Medical Centre in Novena, serving families islandwide. The clinic holds a 4.9-star rating across 58 Google reviews, a moderate sample that lends reasonable confidence to the score. No regulatory licences have been confirmed in the listing data, and the clinic is not ACRA-registered in KakiList's records — parents are advised to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration directly before booking.
For a first visit, parents typically book a paediatric consultation for a presenting concern — whether a skin condition such as eczema or atopic dermatitis, a developmental milestone query, a childhood illness, or a routine vaccination under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule. The clinic's eczema specialisation suggests capacity for skin-focused diagnostic work alongside general paediatric care; parents dealing with chronic or recurrent eczema in young children may find a dedicated paediatric eczema practice more focused than a general GP. First private specialist consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with investigations such as allergy panels or patch testing billed separately. For parents with Integrated Shield Plans, confirm pre-authorisation terms with your insurer; MediSave 500 or the Chronic Disease Management Programme may apply to qualifying outpatient consultations depending on diagnosis.
To get started, call the clinic or submit an enquiry via the contact form to check appointment availability and confirm the consulting doctor's name, SMC registration, and specialist accreditation before your visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
My son had umbilical granuloma and we can tell he was feeling very uncomfortable and kept cryingb We went to visit a few clinics and the doctors were unable to perform the procedure. Luckily we came across Doctor Chong's clinic and visited him regarding my son’s umbilical granuloma. Doctor Chong was kind, professional and most importantly very gentle to my son. He made a detailed assessment of my son’s medical history and reviewed the infection. Throughout the procedure, he was very calm and tried to help my son calm down despite the pain. Bonus: His clinic also had a small slide and a big lama toy. Our elder child has a great time playing with the slide. His staff was also very kind to entertain my elder child so that we could fully focus on my son during the procedure. We highly recommend Doctor Chong and his team! Thank you for helping my son recover from his pain! Post procedure : My son was able to sleep better after the procedure and the wound was able to heal properly after a few days.
For almost two years, Dr. Chong has been more than just our daughter's pediatrician. Our daughter has eczema when she was few months old and with his guidance her eczema was treated properly. He has been our go-to doctor. He has a wonderful, gentle manner with her, and as a parent, you can truly see and feel his genuine concern and care. This means the world, particularly when your child is sick. We also have to praise his incredible nurses, who are so approachable and caring. A special shoutout to Nurse PJ for always knowing how to cheer up our daughter when she's crying. She’s amazing! 🙂
Reasonable pricing, very proactive nurses in calming kids down, starts early, no queue, fast and patient doctor who explains things well. I came from another PD who charges a lot more but in a neighbourhood. I wish this doc is located closer then I will definitely go every time
We have been seeing Dr Chong for my daughter's eczema since she was a few months old. Overall, we will recommend Dr Chong for acute short term skin infections but not for long term eczema management as his primary treatment consists of rather strong steroid creams. When we requested for a non-steroid option, he recommended a cream of higher dosage (meant for older kids) which caused very bad burning sensation on my daughter's skin and her eczema did not get better. We have been to several other doctors and they all recommended similar treatments. It was only through our own food elimination tests did we manage to get her eczema under control and free of steroids.
Dr Chong is patient, friendly and professional and very knowledgeable about Eczema treatment. He is able to address our queries and insightful sharing. He is bilingual and speaks fluent Mandarin and English. We visited him and Eczema healed very fast with his medication cream (within 2-3 days) and recommended moisturisers! He also let you pick the range that your child is most comfortable with. We were very amazed by the good results. Dr Chong is a gem! Service is very good and clinic is colourful and fun. His clinic has many testimonials from patients. Service staff is very friendly. Super grateful! First consultation fee is $180. Clinic also accepts CDA/baby bonus card payment. His webinar is informative and a good watch before visiting him so that save time and ask questions during the consultation: https://youtu.be/eHeOIxl7DK8?si=x8Vd8sRlWfizO0qu

Private paediatric specialist consultations in Singapore typically start at S$120–250 for a first appointment and S$80–180 for follow-ups. Investigations billed on top may include allergy or IgE panels (S$80–200+), skin-prick tests, patch testing, and prescriptions. Eczema management may involve ongoing follow-up reviews, which accumulate over time, so it is worth confirming the follow-up fee at the first visit. For planned investigations or procedures, request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before committing. MediSave 500 applies to selected outpatient consultations; the Chronic Disease Management Programme may cover eligible chronic skin conditions. Confirm with your insurer and the clinic before assuming coverage. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg; search by the consulting doctor's name to confirm active registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been confirmed in this listing's data, which means parents must complete this verification independently before booking. The clinic's name and address (101 Irrawaddy Road, #15-12 Royal Square Medical Centre) are the starting points for your MOH and SMC searches. Both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry are mandatory — neither alone is sufficient. Confirm both before your first appointment, particularly if you intend to make insurance or MediSave claims.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient admissions, subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider structure. For any planned procedure or investigation, ask the clinic for a pre-authorisation request and, where appropriate, a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before treatment — this prevents billing disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations under the S$500 annual withdrawal limit, or under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (S$700 limit) if the child's condition — such as eczema or asthma — is a listed CDMP diagnosis. Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule may also attract MediSave coverage. For any planned investigation or procedure, request a written financial counselling session at the clinic to receive an itemised estimate splitting insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket costs clearly. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill.
