About Dr Chong Kids Medical Eczema Clinic Royal Square
Dr Chong Kids Medical Eczema Clinic Royal Square is a paediatric-focused medical clinic situated at Royal Square Medical Centre on Irrawaddy Road, serving families across Singapore. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channels. The clinic holds a 4.9-star rating across 58 Google reviews, a moderate sample that lends reasonable confidence to the score. No ACRA registration or regulatory licence details were provided at the time of listing, so families are encouraged to confirm the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council registration directly before booking.
Families typically access a paediatric specialist clinic such as this either by walking in directly as a private patient — where a first consultation with a private specialist typically runs S$120–250 — or via a polyclinic or GP referral letter to access subsidised rates at a public institution. At a private specialist setting, the doctor will take a detailed history of the child's presenting condition, conduct an examination, and may order investigations such as allergy skin-prick tests, blood panels, or patch testing before discussing a treatment and management plan. For eczema and dermatological presentations in children, follow-up cadence can be frequent in the early stages, so families should factor in both the consultation fee and any topical prescriptions or consumables into the expected ongoing cost. Confirm whether the clinic is on your Integrated Shield Plan's panel and whether pre-authorisation is needed before attending.
To make an initial appointment, contact the clinic by phone or through the enquiry form listed on this page, and bring along any previous allergy or dermatology reports, current medications, and your child's health booklet to support the first consultation.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
My son had umbilical granuloma and we can tell he was feeling very uncomfortable and kept cryingb We went to visit a few clinics and the doctors were unable to perform the procedure. Luckily we came across Doctor Chong's clinic and visited him regarding my son’s umbilical granuloma. Doctor Chong was kind, professional and most importantly very gentle to my son. He made a detailed assessment of my son’s medical history and reviewed the infection. Throughout the procedure, he was very calm and tried to help my son calm down despite the pain. Bonus: His clinic also had a small slide and a big lama toy. Our elder child has a great time playing with the slide. His staff was also very kind to entertain my elder child so that we could fully focus on my son during the procedure. We highly recommend Doctor Chong and his team! Thank you for helping my son recover from his pain! Post procedure : My son was able to sleep better after the procedure and the wound was able to heal properly after a few days.
For almost two years, Dr. Chong has been more than just our daughter's pediatrician. Our daughter has eczema when she was few months old and with his guidance her eczema was treated properly. He has been our go-to doctor. He has a wonderful, gentle manner with her, and as a parent, you can truly see and feel his genuine concern and care. This means the world, particularly when your child is sick. We also have to praise his incredible nurses, who are so approachable and caring. A special shoutout to Nurse PJ for always knowing how to cheer up our daughter when she's crying. She’s amazing! 🙂
Reasonable pricing, very proactive nurses in calming kids down, starts early, no queue, fast and patient doctor who explains things well. I came from another PD who charges a lot more but in a neighbourhood. I wish this doc is located closer then I will definitely go every time
We have been seeing Dr Chong for my daughter's eczema since she was a few months old. Overall, we will recommend Dr Chong for acute short term skin infections but not for long term eczema management as his primary treatment consists of rather strong steroid creams. When we requested for a non-steroid option, he recommended a cream of higher dosage (meant for older kids) which caused very bad burning sensation on my daughter's skin and her eczema did not get better. We have been to several other doctors and they all recommended similar treatments. It was only through our own food elimination tests did we manage to get her eczema under control and free of steroids.
Dr Chong is patient, friendly and professional and very knowledgeable about Eczema treatment. He is able to address our queries and insightful sharing. He is bilingual and speaks fluent Mandarin and English. We visited him and Eczema healed very fast with his medication cream (within 2-3 days) and recommended moisturisers! He also let you pick the range that your child is most comfortable with. We were very amazed by the good results. Dr Chong is a gem! Service is very good and clinic is colourful and fun. His clinic has many testimonials from patients. Service staff is very friendly. Super grateful! First consultation fee is $180. Clinic also accepts CDA/baby bonus card payment. His webinar is informative and a good watch before visiting him so that save time and ask questions during the consultation: https://youtu.be/eHeOIxl7DK8?si=x8Vd8sRlWfizO0qu

At a private specialist clinic, a first paediatric consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up reviews at S$80–180. On top of the consultation fee, investigations are billed separately: allergy skin-prick or patch testing S$80–200, blood panels S$60–200, and any prescribed topicals or oral medications. GST applies on private medical services. Families with a polyclinic or GP referral letter can access subsidised specialist outpatient clinic (SOC) rates at public hospitals, typically S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens after subsidy, though non-urgent waits of 4–12 weeks are common. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate that splits insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. Every legitimate private clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation (in this case, Paediatric Medicine), and any disciplinary history. No licence details were provided in this listing. Families should confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC registration before booking. For a paediatric dermatology or eczema-focused specialist, also check whether the doctor holds a fellowship in Paediatric Medicine or Dermatology (FAMS or FRCS) beyond basic SMC registration, as this signals advanced specialist training. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient stays subject to each plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms — confirm whether this clinic is on your insurer's panel and whether pre-authorisation is required before attending, particularly for allergy testing or any planned procedure. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits (S$500 per year for general outpatient, S$700 per year for conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme, which includes selected chronic skin and allergic conditions). Eczema management for children may qualify depending on the CDMP classification — confirm this with the clinic at the first visit. For any planned procedure, request a financial counselling session so the clinic can issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket cost in writing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill.
