About Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology

About Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology

Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology is a dermatology practice located at Royal Square Medical Centre, Novena, offering paediatric dermatology services on an islandwide basis. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a 4.6 out of 5 rating across 29 Google reviews — a moderate sample size that provides a reasonable directional signal. No regulatory licences have been provided to KakiList at the time of listing; parents and patients are encouraged to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration independently before booking.

Patients typically begin with a first specialist consultation at a private clinic, which in Singapore runs S$120–250 for a first visit and S$80–180 for follow-ups, without a polyclinic or GP referral letter. For paediatric dermatology specifically, common presentations include eczema (atopic dermatitis), molluscum contagiosum, viral warts, psoriasis, pigmentation disorders, and acne in older children and adolescents. The consulting doctor will take a full history, examine the affected skin, advise on topical or systemic treatment where indicated, and set a follow-up schedule appropriate to the condition. Investigations such as patch testing or skin scrapings may be added at the same visit. Confirm in advance which Integrated Shield Plan (IP) the clinic accepts, whether pre-authorisation is needed, and what out-of-pocket costs to expect after MediShield Life and the IP are applied.

To arrange an appointment, contact Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology by WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form, and bring along the child's medical history, any previous treatment records, and your insurance policy details.

My experience at Epi Dermatology & Laser Specialist Clinic was excellent. The clinic staff were professional and welcoming, making me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The dermatologist was very knowledgeable, taking the time to thoroughly explain my treatment options and answer all my questions. I was impressed with their expertise and the advanced technology they used. I felt that I was in very capable hands throughout my consultation and would highly recommend their services.

Excellent experience with Dr Lee and the clinic staff. I am based overseas but was looking to remove or lighten my sunspots on a visit. It was easy and flexible to book an appointment that fit my schedule and Dr Lee was able to remove a significant number of sunspots in just one visit and gave valuable post-treatment advice. My skin hasn't been this smooth and blemish free in years and I'm delighted with the results.

Highly recommended! I have been seeing Dr Lee for almost a year for my adult atopic ezcema + cystic acne combo (too dry yet too oily is a horrible combi I know) She has honestly been the best derm I’ve seen. Very honest, understanding and takes time to understand your condition. As with every clinic, a big part of your experience will be interacting with the clinic assistant, Jeannie. Jeannie is a full timer, and the only clinic assistant for Epi Derm. She is the BEST. Replies super fast for scheduling and there was once I had the worst ezcema flare on earth and even though the clinic wasn’t open she was there to pass me my medicine to control the flare up.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology charge?

Private specialist consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first visit and S$80–180 for a follow-up review. On top of the consultation fee, expect to pay separately for any investigations — a basic skin scraping or swab S$40–100, patch testing S$200–500, blood panel S$60–200 — plus prescriptions and topical treatments. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure (for example, removal of warts or molluscum, or a skin biopsy), ask the clinic for a written financial counselling estimate that splits the insurance payout, any MediSave deduction, and your out-of-pocket portion before proceeding. This is especially important if you are claiming under an Integrated Shield Plan. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No regulatory licences have been submitted to KakiList for this listing. Before booking, verify two things independently. First, confirm that the clinic premises hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — searchable on the MOH licensee directory online. Second, confirm that the consulting doctor is on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, including their specialist accreditation in Dermatology and any disciplinary notes. For a paediatric dermatology specialism, a fellowship with the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) or an equivalent Royal College credential is the meaningful additional indicator of specialist training beyond general SMC registration. Verify the doctor's name and credentials directly with the clinic if not publicly listed. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Dr Lee Hwee Chyen Epi Dermatology?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient stays, subject to each plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm with your insurer whether pre-authorisation is needed and request a Letter of Guarantee before any planned skin procedure to avoid disputes after the fact. MediSave outpatient withdrawal is capped at S$500 per year for general outpatient use, rising to S$700 per year for conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — certain chronic skin conditions, such as severe psoriasis, may qualify. For any planned procedure, ask the clinic for a financial counselling session and a written itemised estimate before proceeding. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill at private specialist clinics.
