My son has been coughing on and off since he started school. We’ve had countless GP visits, and we were often told it was normal and that he would eventually outgrow it. Dr. Mohana was the only one who gave us a treatment plan and took the time to explain everything in detail. She is kind and patient, and her staff are genuinely nice.
Repeat patient here. So happy for Dr Mohana to have moved to a new place just right opposite Katong i12. The whole clinic is clean and inviting. Dr Mohana herself is genuinely respectful to children. She is so gentle and patient with everyone she meets, and most importantly she listens carefully to concerns raised and is thoughtful about the drugs she administers. I don't live nearby but I'm happy to drive down to the east just to see her when the kids fall ill. Also very happy with the appointment system. It's easy to book a slot and see when the available timings are. Nurses are helpful. Special thanks to Usha for her gentle guidance on how to use an aerochamber. And the male nurse for being patient with my son ❤️
The consultation itself was fine, but I was concerned by repeated statements that the influenza vaccine is “compulsory” for young children in Singapore, which is not accurate. Clear distinction between medical recommendations and legal requirements is important for informed parental decisions. In response to the comment: There was no misunderstanding. It was explicitly stated on three occasions that it was “compulsory.” As such, misinformation was provided, which is a serious concern.
We’ve had several visits to Petite Practice, and each one has been a great experience. Dr. Mohana is a wonderful pediatrician: she listens carefully, explains everything clearly, and is always patient and reassuring. The nurses are consistently warm, friendly, and make us feel genuinely cared for every time. We truly appreciate the care and attention our family receives here 😊
Dr Mohana is a doctor whom I trust my children with, when we have complicated medical issues. She takes her time to investigate carefully. She asks not just about symptoms but also history and habits, and she gives detailed and assuring explainations. This is in stark contrast to many other quick and sterile doctor visits that we’ve had elsewhere. Attached is a photo of my daughter having her blood drawn. What we thought would be a terrifying experience for a 7 year old, turned out to be very pleasant. The nurse was very experienced and very gentle. They had everything from numbing cream to toys. Zero tears from my child throughout the procedure. Appointments are necessary. If you’re anxious about your children’s ailments that you haven’t been getting answers to, this is the place to go!

A first private paediatric specialist consultation in Singapore typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. On top of the consultation fee, investigations are billed separately: blood panels S$60–200, urine or throat cultures S$30–80, X-rays S$80–150. Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) are S$30–80 per dose at private clinics. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure, the clinic should provide a written financial counselling estimate that splits the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before you commit. Confirm current fees directly with the clinic, as pricing varies by complexity and the specific doctor seen. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must also be listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences are currently recorded in this listing. Parents should search for the clinic's MOH licence and Dr Mohana Rajakulendran's SMC entry directly before booking. Both checks take under two minutes and confirm that the practice is operating within the regulated framework. Neither the clinic licence nor the doctor's SMC registration alone is sufficient — confirm both. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For paediatric outpatient visits, check with your insurer whether the consultation is claimable under your specific plan tier and whether pre-authorisation is required. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits (S$500/year general outpatient, S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme, which covers selected chronic childhood conditions including asthma). Routine GP-level paediatric visits are not always MediSave-claimable at private specialist clinics, so confirm this at the point of booking. For any planned procedure, request a financial counselling session — the clinic should issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate in writing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill.
