About Dr Tan Kuanyang Thomson Paediatric Centre
Dr Tan Kuanyang Thomson Paediatric Centre is a paediatric clinic located at Thomson Medical Centre on Thomson Road, serving families islandwide. It holds a 4.3/5 rating across 168 Google reviews, which represents a robust sample and provides a reliable indication of patient experience. No regulatory licences are currently listed in this directory entry, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed, so families are advised to verify credentials directly before booking.
For a first visit, parents typically bring their child for a consultation covering acute illness, developmental milestone checks, or the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule. The NIP covers vaccinations from birth through adolescence — BCG, hepatitis B, DTaP-IPV-Hib, MMR, varicella, and others at specified ages — and a paediatric specialist can advise on catch-up doses, optional vaccinations not on the NIP, and any concerns about growth or development. For private specialist consultations, the standard fee range in Singapore is S$120–250 for a first visit; investigations such as blood panels, urine cultures, or X-rays are billed separately. Families with an Integrated Shield Plan (IP) should confirm pre-authorisation requirements with their insurer, particularly for day procedures. MediSave 500 outpatient withdrawal and the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) may apply to selected conditions.
Contact the clinic directly by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm the consulting doctor's availability, current consultation fees, and whether an appointment is required or walk-ins are accepted.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Not sure about the doctors but the nurses were not polite and helpful. No empathy to parents wanting to come see the doctor. Once they heard we went to the clinic at Level 3 once. They kept pushing us back to that clinic despite us telling them they have 20 kids infront of us. We were willing to pay and do first time registrations with them as they said they only have 3 kids Infront. However they insisted that if there are 20 walk-ins appointments after we are registered then we will be pushed back all the way unlimited times. All this while, their tone was proud and no empathy or compassion shown. Will not return to this clinic again.
Registered and gave receptionist my membership card but was told not needed because they have it in their system. Waited 40mins to see Dr Eugene Han despite making an appointment. He explains thoroughly and doesn’t rush through consultation. Paid and left the clinic only to realize no discount was given despite membership being noted. Tried to call the clinic as I forgot to ask Dr Han whether I should continue to give my baby Abrilar cough syrup because nothing about cough syrup was mentioned by him. But I called 21 times from 3:50 to 5pm (clinic closing time), and nobody picks up the phone. How is there 2 staff sitting at the reception and 1 nurse with an empty clinic but nobody bothers to answer the phone. Disappointing and now I don’t even know if I should feed my baby cough syrup today, have to wait for tomorrow and pray they bother to answer my call.
The idea of being a new parent to a newborn can be daunting and unfamiliar. But the entire team at Thomson from the Nurses to our Delivery Doctor Dr Claudine to our paediatrician Dr Tan made the entire experience - safe, easy and assuring. Can’t thank everyone enough for assisting us in this huge milestone!
Dr Tan has been great, very patient and takes time to explain everything clearly. The staffs are kind, helpful and make every visit easier. Great experience overall.
The team at thomson paediatric centre is amazing and awesome. They consist of Ms Gaya, Ms Yen, Ms G, Ms Poh Ling and Ms Kwee Hong. From start to finish, the team handled everything excellently and without any hiccups. Last but not least, Dr Eugene Han is super awesome! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For a private paediatric specialist, expect a first consultation fee of S$120–250 and follow-up visits at S$80–180. These figures are broadly consistent with private specialist rates in Singapore; confirm the exact fee with the clinic before your visit. Investigations ordered during the consultation — blood panels (S$60–200), urine cultures, X-rays (S$80–150), or allergy testing — are billed on top of the consultation fee. Vaccinations outside the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule (e.g. influenza, pneumococcal, rotavirus) carry their own cost, typically S$40–120 per dose. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure or day surgery, request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portion before proceeding. Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No licence is currently listed in this directory entry, so families should confirm the clinic's licence status directly or via the MOH directory before booking. Every practising doctor in Singapore is listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by the doctor's name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. For a paediatric specialist, look for fellowship credentials such as MRCPCH (UK) or FAMS (Paediatric Medicine) as additional indicators of specialist training beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before booking — neither alone is sufficient.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid claim disputes afterwards. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits (S$500/year general outpatient; S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme, which covers conditions including asthma and selected chronic paediatric conditions). Routine vaccinations on the NIP schedule may also be claimable under MediSave at approved clinics — confirm this with the clinic directly. For any planned procedure, request a financial counselling session so the clinic can provide an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions in writing.
