About Dr Yeo Wee Song Paediatric Nephrologist
Dr Yeo Wee Song is a paediatric nephrologist based at Thomson Plaza, offering specialist care for children and adolescents with kidney and urinary tract conditions. The practice is reachable by phone and online enquiry form, serving patients islandwide from the Upper Thomson address. A Google rating of 4.4 from 40 reviews provides a moderate indication of patient experience, though prospective families should verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and Dr Yeo's SMC registration independently before booking.
Parents typically self-refer or arrive via a polyclinic or general practitioner referral letter. A GP referral is worth arranging where possible — it does not reduce the private specialist consultation fee, but it provides a clinical summary that helps the nephrologist assess the presenting condition more efficiently at the first appointment. Paediatric nephrology presentations range from recurrent urinary tract infections, proteinuria, and haematuria detected during school health screening, to more complex conditions such as nephrotic syndrome, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. At the first consultation, the doctor will review the child's history, order relevant investigations (urine dipstick and microscopy, 24-hour urine collection, blood panel for renal function, and where indicated ultrasound or further imaging), and outline a management plan. Parents should bring any previous investigation results, hospital discharge summaries, and the child's health booklet to the appointment.
To make an enquiry or request an appointment, call the clinic directly or submit the online contact form on the KakiList listing — the team will confirm availability and advise on what to prepare for the first visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Dr Yeo is very detailed in his examination and has a genuine care for the kids! My daughter was running a fever for more than a week and saw him twice during the entire episode. He was very supportive and responsive during the period and was concerned when she was not recovering with the initial medicine. Really appreciate a doctor who genuinely cares for the kids.
My daughter was admitted to the hospital after visiting ER. Dr. Yeo was always truly thoughtful and minimize traumatic medical treatments for my 2yo kid and introduced better options for us. He did proper examine and able to detect the cause after visiting many clinic for almost a month. Lucky to have such an amazing Dr. Thank you Dr. Yeo :)
Shout out to Dr Yeo for journeying with us through our child’s medical journey. Always patient with questions, and addressing them with empathy. Really appreciate that he can be reached without a need for a consultation to assuage concerns. Also want to call out the helpfulness of the nursing staff. They were able to obtain the requisite medication to save me the trouble of going around multiple locations - at no markup! Thank you!
Had a good experience with Dr Yeo. He's patient and detailed with my baby during the consultation. It was a last minute appointment, and the clinic staff were flexible enough to accommodate us. Waiting times were decent as well compared to other more popular clinics. Will definitely recommend!
Absolute joke when it comes to booking appointments. Please go elsewhere for clinic assistants that will actually care about your time Made an appointment for 10am only to be told the doctor will be in at 10:30am (for no good reason). When asked if we can come back in the afternoon instead due to their own poor scheduling, they have the cheek to say there are other appointments and it’s not a guarantee we can see you. Nice. But let’s make it worse. My husband goes to change our baby’s diaper at 10:30am and instead of just waiting 5 minutes for him - they let a walk-in go in to see the doctor. There are many many other clinics that will treat you and your child with care. Go there instead. Letting a 9 month old baby wait for fun and not even being apologetic shows you the level of care you can expect here

Private paediatric specialist consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first appointment and S$80–180 for follow-ups. Investigations ordered at or after the consultation are billed separately — a urine panel may cost S$30–80, a renal function blood panel S$80–150, and an ultrasound S$150–350. GST applies on all private medical services. For any planned procedure or planned hospital admission, the clinic should provide a written financial counselling estimate that splits the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions clearly. Confirm your Integrated Shield Plan's pre-authorisation requirements before the visit to avoid claim issues. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory by clinic name and address. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine or Nephrology, and any disciplinary history. No licences are currently listed in this KakiList entry. Families should verify Dr Yeo's SMC entry and the clinic's MOH licence directly before booking — both are public records and should take only a few minutes to confirm online. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient admissions subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms. Contact your insurer to confirm pre-authorisation requirements and whether a Letter of Guarantee is needed before any planned procedure. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit and the S$700/year Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) limit, which covers certain chronic paediatric kidney conditions. For children with nephrotic syndrome or chronic kidney disease requiring ongoing outpatient treatment, check with the clinic whether CDMP registration is applicable. Request a financial counselling session so the clinic can issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate — this is the most reliable way to avoid a surprise bill.
