About "Family Play"
Family Play is a playgroup provider operating islandwide from its centre at City Gate Mall on Beach Road. It is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. The service carries a Google rating of 4.1 out of 5 across 84 reviews, which represents a moderate sample and can be treated with reasonable confidence. Fees are priced at the mid-range tier ($$) on a monthly recurring basis.
Families interested in enrolling should begin by enquiring about slot availability for their intended start month, as playgroup places can fill quickly. When you make contact — by phone or via the enquiry form — ask about the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the structure of a typical daily session, and the settling-in approach for younger children. It is worth asking whether the centre follows an ECDA-aligned curriculum and confirming which age bands are catered for. Singapore citizen children may be eligible for ECDA subsidies depending on household income and the mother's working status; ask the centre to walk you through what applies to your family's circumstances.
The most direct next step is to call or submit the enquiry form to ask about current vacancies for your child's age group and to arrange a centre visit so you can meet the staff and see the environment before committing.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

Ill rate activities 4.5/5 Very engaging for children. Recommended age 3 and above. Corn grinding Kids love it! Learn how popcorn is made. Longkang fish Most fun part tbh. Had alot of toy fish and real longkang fishes. Well maintain area no algae spotted. Lemongrass workshop Easy for children to grind and have fun as the more grind the more aroma it gets. It also finish the session with a lucky draw woth min 50 buck spend.
Very nice and comfy place fory 5yr old. Have fun till didn't want to leave. Catching the fish was super fun. Furthermore the staff are super nice, and extremely nice to children. This is what a playground for kids should be. Never had such warm experiences, and seeing how they treat other kids too was nice to see. Will come back
We are so grateful for the wonderful birthday experience we had here! A special thank you to the owner for thoughtfully leaving some party balloon décor for us even though we didn’t pay for it – such a kind and generous gesture that made the kids really happy. Our children also have quite a few allergies, and the team was extremely patient and accommodating with every request, which really put us at ease. The whole place was kept spotless, and we really appreciated how each station was well-staffed. The staff were not only attentive but also very proactive in engaging and helping with the kids, which made everything run so smoothly. It’s rare to find a place that combines such a high level of cleanliness, organization, and genuine care for families. We had such a positive experience that we’re already looking forward to coming back again. This is definitely a place we’d recommend to friends and family, and one we know our kids will be excited to revisit.
Concept is great but they have a lot to work on. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was expectedly crowded. You should buffer about 15min for payment and registration as there was a line. I don’t find this place safe or suitable for children under 4yo as there were a lot of rowdy older children with no regard for their surroundings. Also I got a cut on my shin from something sharp near the water play area, and my friend stubbed her toe a few times on the uneven surface in the ball pit. Shocked that they used to have live fish for the kids to play, that’s so cruel! Glad it is now plastic toys, but the nets were broken and unusable. Kids deserve better at this price. Nice touch to have popcorn and soy milk at the end, but the process was slow, and the milk given is so little and super diluted. Will still visit again with a child who really loves corn, but hope it’s safer and more efficient next time!
New indoor playground attraction with minor perks like free popcorn, but overall, it's quite disappointing. The play area is quite small—roughly the size of two shop units. To manage the crowd, only one accompanying adult is allowed per child, with no option for additional adults, even at a fee. While it claims to be environmentally friendly by replacing real fishes with fake artefacts, this wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront. Even the soil farming of potatoes has been replaced with a table activity of basic pebbles sand-sieving activity. Felt misled and cheated, especially considering the price of SGD 29.80 per child + one adult for an hour. The experience feels inauthentic and disappointing.

Family Play operates on a monthly recurring fee structure, listed at the mid-range ($$) price tier. Beyond the monthly fee itself, you should confirm at the point of enquiry whether there is a one-off registration fee, a refundable deposit (typically equivalent to one to two months' fees), and any costs for uniforms or personal accident insurance for your child. Childcare and playgroup fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the figure quoted to you should be the figure you pay. Singapore citizen children enrolled in licensed childcare or playgroup centres may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care and S$300 per month for childcare and playgroup places. Working mothers employed for 56 hours or more per month may qualify for the additional Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy on top of this. Families with a gross monthly household income below a certain threshold may also access the Additional Subsidy, which can bring the combined subsidy to as much as S$710 per month depending on income band. Permanent Resident children are eligible for partial subsidies at lower quantum. Subsidy amounts are reviewed periodically, so check directly with ECDA at www.ecda.gov.sg for current figures and to confirm whether Family Play's programme qualifies. The centre's admin team can also guide you through the application process.
Demand for playgroup and infant care places in Singapore means popular centres can fill several months ahead of the intended start date. For infant care in particular, families are commonly advised to enquire six to twelve months before the child's expected start. For playgroup programmes, three to six months' lead time is a reasonable starting point, with January being a peak intake month for many centres. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and a deposit, which confirms the booking. Contact Family Play directly by phone or via the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and intended start month, as waitlist status changes frequently.
