About HCSA Community Services

About HCSA Community Services

HCSA Community Services is a home nursing provider serving families islandwide from its base in Geylang. The listing is KakiList-verified, and the service carries a 4.5/5 rating across 103 Google reviews — a robust sample that suggests consistent client satisfaction. Pricing follows an hourly model at a mid-range ($$) tier; exact rates should be confirmed directly, as home nursing costs vary by care complexity and visit frequency.

Families typically begin by conducting a care assessment to establish the elder's mobility, medical, and personal care requirements. From there, the decision turns on whether visit-based nursing — where a professional attends at scheduled intervals — meets the care load, or whether more intensive arrangements are needed. Key questions to raise include the scope of clinical tasks the nurses can perform (wound care, medication management, catheter care, post-hospitalisation rehabilitation), the minimum hours per visit, any public holiday surcharges, and the process for adjusting the care plan as needs change. It is also worth clarifying how the service handles caregiver continuity — consistent assignment to the same nurse matters greatly for elders with dementia or anxiety — and what insurance coverage applies in the event of a care-related incident.

To take the first step, contact HCSA Community Services by phone or through their enquiry form to arrange a care assessment. Bring a summary of the elder's medical history, any hospital discharge notes, and a list of current medications to help the team propose an appropriate care plan promptly.

They are doing a great job and helping migrants and Singaporeans to an extend in curbing the numbers of infected cases 8n Singapore....kudos to the tireless staff and brave volunteers...need more awareness for what they have done and continue to do. Really need all the help they can get so the actual staff can @ least rest for a mere 4-5hr when they get back hm....

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does HCSA Community Services charge?

HCSA Community Services prices home nursing on an hourly basis at a mid-range ($$) tier. Exact rates depend on the level of clinical care required — basic personal care and companionship visits are typically priced lower than skilled nursing tasks such as wound management, catheter care, or post-surgical monitoring. Beyond the hourly rate, confirm in writing: any minimum visit duration, public holiday and weekend surcharges, transport or mileage costs, and whether consumables such as dressings or medication dispensers are included or billed separately. GST treatment should also be clarified, as some registered charity or social service agency providers may have different billing arrangements. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does HCSA Community Services offer?

HCSA Community Services operates on a visit-based home nursing model, with nurses attending the elder's home for scheduled sessions rather than residing on-site. This suits families whose elder is largely independent between visits but requires regular clinical attention — such as wound redressing, vital signs monitoring, or medication supervision. For families weighing visit-based nursing against more intensive live-in arrangements, the key variables are the elder's medical complexity, the availability of a family caregiver between visits, and budget. Visit-based nursing allows greater flexibility in hours and is generally more cost-effective for lower-acuity needs. Enquire about the minimum frequency of visits, the trial period available to assess fit, and the process for scaling care up or down as the elder's condition changes.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

For home nursing providers, the clinical staff should hold recognised nursing qualifications — typically registered nurse (RN) or enrolled nurse (EN) status accredited by the Singapore Nursing Board under the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) framework. For elders with dementia, ask specifically whether staff have completed dementia care training such as the Dementia Singapore or Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) accredited programmes. HCSA Community Services does not currently list regulatory licences on this directory entry. Prospective clients should ask directly whether the service is AIC-registered or MOH-listed for home nursing, and request confirmation of professional indemnity or public liability insurance covering both nurse injury and client incidents. Verifying these credentials before the first visit is strongly recommended. Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
