About Healthway Medical Group

About Healthway Medical Group

Healthway Medical Group is a paediatric healthcare provider operating islandwide from its Sinaran Drive location in Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licences have been confirmed in the data available. The Google rating stands at 3.3 out of 5 across 104 reviews — a robust sample size that warrants careful consideration before booking.

For paediatric consultations, parents typically approach Healthway Medical Group either as a direct walk-in or private appointment (first specialist consult typically S$120–250 at private clinics) or via a polyclinic or GP referral letter for a subsidised specialist outpatient clinic visit (S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, with waiting times of four to twelve weeks for non-urgent cases). At the first appointment, the paediatrician will review the child's developmental history, vaccination record against the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule, and presenting concerns. Investigations such as blood panels, X-rays, or developmental assessments may be ordered at the same visit or follow-up. Parents should confirm in advance whether the clinic holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence and that the consulting paediatrician is listed on the Singapore Medical Council register under the Paediatric Medicine specialism.

To make an appointment, contact Healthway Medical Group directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form, and ask for a written financial counselling estimate — including consultation fee, likely investigations, and how MediSave and any Integrated Shield Plan will apply — before the visit.

Dr John Cheng is always kind, understanding and professional. He gives good counselling and manage each medical condition appropriately. Is a pleasure to visit this clinic with nice staff like Siti and her 2 other colleagues. The clinic can be crowded so some waiting time can be expected. Kindly appreciate their hard work !

I recently had an appointment and unfortunately, I left the visit feeling very disappointed and disheartened. The overall experience was less than professional. Instead of receiving helpful guidance or a supportive approach, I felt that the female doctor (around late 50s or early 60s?) was dismissive and unengaged. Her questioning came across as abrupt and even condescending at times, which made me feel uncomfortable and judged. What made the situation worse was her body language. She sighed multiple times during our conversation, which felt dismissive and made me feel like I was a burden rather than a patient in need of care. It seemed as though she was frustrated with me, which only added to my stress during an already difficult time. As a healthcare provider, I believe it’s important to approach patients with empathy and professionalism, especially when they’re facing challenges. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect these values. I left feeling more anxious and unsupported, rather than reassured or guided. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the care provided to future patients.

Had a great experience here. The clinic is clean and well-organised, the staffs are friendly and efficient. And Dr. John Cheng is very professional and caring. He takes time to listen, explain clearly, and makes me feel comfortable. Highly recommended GP clinic!”

Was a pleasure to meet Dr John Cheng. He was kind, respectful, listens to every patient properly, and straightforward during his consultation. Doesn’t rush you out of his clinic. Also great that this clinic accepts chas card and can refer to specialist in public hospital.

Dr John is amazing however for today, I was very disappointed . Called them around 12noon as I was near the clinic and they said we are fully booked till lunch. Please come back around 2pm. I came back after lunch and they told me the system is down since morning and there’s no doctor. I was really pissed. Why do you need to lie ? Or just working subconsciously without thinking? It’s horrible when you feel really sick.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Healthway Medical Group charge?

For private paediatric consultations, first-visit fees in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with follow-up reviews at S$80–180. If you hold a polyclinic or GP referral letter, a subsidised Specialist Outpatient Clinic visit costs S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens after subsidy, though non-urgent waiting times of four to twelve weeks are common in the public system. Common add-ons beyond the consultation include vaccinations (S$30–80 per dose depending on the vaccine), blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), and developmental assessments. GST applies to private medical services. For any planned procedure or investigation, request a written financial counselling estimate from the clinic that clearly splits the insurance payout, MediSave withdrawal, and out-of-pocket portions before committing. Is Healthway Medical Group MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration has been confirmed in the data available for this listing. Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore is required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg; for paediatricians, check that the specialist accreditation is listed under Paediatric Medicine. For surgical or subspecialty paediatric work, a Royal College fellowship (FRCS) or Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) in the relevant branch is the meaningful additional credential. Confirm both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before attending. Given that neither licence appears in this listing, parents are strongly encouraged to verify these details directly with Healthway Medical Group before booking. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Healthway Medical Group?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient paediatric items under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits — S$500 per year for general outpatient use, or S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions including asthma. The National Childhood Immunisation Programme vaccines are separately subsidised for eligible Singapore citizen children under the childhood immunisation schedule. For any planned procedure or investigation package, request a financial counselling session at the clinic. Most private providers will issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions in writing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill.
