About Kates Catering
Kates Catering is an event catering provider operating islandwide from its premises at 171 Kampong Ampat, KA Foodlink. It is KakiList-verified and holds a 4.5/5 rating across 83 Google reviews, a moderate and reasonably reliable sample. Pricing follows a per-pax model, displayed in the mid-range band — confirm the exact per-pax rate and minimum headcount directly when enquiring.
When planning your event, start by confirming the pax count and minimum order (typically 30–50 pax for buffets, 8–15 for mini-buffets), your preferred format (buffet, mini-buffet, bento, or live station), and the dietary mix across your guest list — halal, vegetarian, no-pork-no-lard, and no-beef requirements should all be declared upfront. Ask whether a menu tasting is available before you commit, and clarify what is included in the quoted price: delivery and setup, chafing dishes and warmers, buffet attendant on-site, and teardown. Confirm the delivery and setup window relative to your event start time, and check the food-safety hold time for hot dishes (the cooked-to-served window for hot food is typically 2–3 hours).
Reach out to Kates Catering via WhatsApp, phone, or their enquiry form with your event date, venue, pax count, and dietary requirements to receive a per-pax quote and check availability.
Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
Kate's Catering is our office's go to for meal gatherings. We ordered the laksa mini party set and topped up with a fried rice and satay. The food arrived piping hot, well packed and
Our company ordered the buffet for grand opening of SQ1 on 02 June 2025. The food had exceeded my expectations. The food was so delicious, and the service was really great. The lemon grass Thai fish cake was so yummy and I ate and wanted to refill again. Korean fried chicken was tender and went well with the sauce and vegetables station was good too. The taste was even better when the food was hot with self-heating buffet burners. I took a huge pile of dishes, even though it was quite heavy for one person. With compliment, the buffet was nice and with good standard service. All foods were consumed in a short time that proven it was very delicious.

Ordered food bento from them during the hectic CNY period and they kindly accepted my order request one week before the event. The event attendees complimented that the food portion is generous and it was delicious.
Our team had a department breakfast and lunch separately, and we ordered from them. I didn't take photo of the lunch but both bento boxes, breakfast and lunch, were enjoyed by the teams. My boss and colleagues liked the food quality, they even asked for the website to consider for their future personal gatherings. Delivery is on time. Always 30mins before eating time. Communication is fast both by email and WhatsApp. Everything was smooth.

Per-pax pricing depends on the format and menu selected. Singapore market norms are: standard buffet S$15–25/pax (minimum roughly 30 pax), premium buffet S$25–40/pax, mini-buffet for smaller groups S$18–30/pax (minimum 8–15 pax), bento delivery S$8–18/pax, and live-station setups S$30–60/pax. Contact Kates Catering directly for their specific per-pax rates. Beyond the headline per-pax figure, confirm what is included: delivery and setup fee for your venue, equipment rental (chafing dishes, warmers — sometimes included, sometimes billed separately), buffet attendant on-site (typically S$80–150 per attendant), waste collection, and GST. Non-central or landed venues may attract a delivery surcharge. See the full catering cost guide for Singapore →
Before booking, confirm whether Kates Catering holds a MUIS halal certificate — this should display a licence number and validity dates. 'Halal-friendly' or 'no pork no lard' without MUIS certification is not equivalent to certified halal and will not meet the standard for guests who require strict halal compliance. Ask about this distinction directly. Also confirm vegetarian (lacto-ovo, vegan, or Jain), no-beef options for Hindu guests, gluten-free, and nut-free alternatives. For mixed dietary events, ask about cross-contamination protocols in the kitchen and during setup. Most caterers offer a menu tasting before booking for orders above a minimum value — request this before paying any deposit.
Legitimate caterers hold an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence with a hygiene grade — A is highest, then B, C, and D. Kates Catering does not currently have regulatory licences listed on this profile; confirm the SFA licence number and hygiene grade directly before booking. If halal certification is required, ask to see the MUIS certificate as well. On food safety, hot dishes should be served within roughly 2–3 hours of cooking, held above 60°C, with cold dishes held below 5°C per SFA guidelines. Confirm the setup arrival time, buffet replenishment protocol, and the policy for safe handling of leftovers. Avoid caterers who cannot produce an SFA licence number on request, particularly for events above 20 pax where the food-safety risk and your exposure increase. Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence, book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
