About Katong Catering

About Katong Catering

Katong Catering is an islandwide event catering provider based in Opera Estate, Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, and the service carries a 4.5/5 rating across 62 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides reasonable confidence in service quality. Pricing is displayed at the mid-range ($$) on a per-pax model, in line with standard buffet and mini-buffet catering in Singapore.

When enquiring, share your event date, venue, expected headcount, and dietary mix — particularly whether halal-certified food is required, as this determines which menu tracks are available. Confirm the minimum order threshold (typically 30–50 pax for full buffets, 8–15 pax for mini-buffets), whether delivery and setup are included in the per-pax rate or billed separately, and whether chafing dishes, warmers, and serving equipment are provided. Ask about buffet attendants if you need on-site service staff, and clarify the teardown window and food-safety hold time — hot dishes should be served within roughly 2–3 hours of cooking. A menu tasting before signing is worth requesting for larger events.

To move forward, reach out to Katong Catering via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form with your event date, guest count, dietary requirements, and venue address to receive a per-pax quote and confirm slot availability.

Service is good! Buffet arrive before stipulated time (also not too early). Food is good too for the pricing. Love the prawn cos it’s deshelled and easy to eat. I think the satay they also gave extra. Portion was also v generous!

Was searching on google for an affordable mini buffet catering with good reviews. By faith and chance, I decided to give it a try for the very 1st time. I say, I found a good mini buffet which I will definitely order again. Katong catering had great service as well. Aisyah confirmed my order through a call, Iman (beautiful lady) was waiting by the door for me to arrive to pick up my order. Food was hot when picked up. Food was great as well. Everyone was going, "The food not bad wor. The prawns was great, the otah was packed with fish meat, the hosin salmon was not overcooked. It was tender with no fishy taste." I personally love the garlic prawns but can go a little less salty, same goes for the salmon. I would definitely order again when I host again.

The food was nice, especially the yuzu sesame mousse cake. I ordered the 5-pax mini party set, and the portions were generous. It is more than enough for five people. The customer service was great as well.

Wayne and Aisyah were helpful in my ordering. Delivery man, Kent was friendly, reliable and they arrived punctually. The Kicap Manis Prawn and Shimmering Sand Chicken were delicious. Size portion of food was just nice for the number of guest. Satay was quite popular. However, the Dry Laksa goreng and Chinese Sausage and Mushroom Rice were a disappointment as they were not as tasty as I had expected. The Marinara Mushroom Meatballs were a bit tough to eat. Also, I wish to add that the Baked Halibut in Chillie Crab Sauce were not so appropriate. Also, the Peach Muscat drink were just average and not so popular and significantly insufficient for the number of guest. Luckily, I bought many drinks in my house a few days earlier so i was able to resolved this problem on my own. Otherwise, it is so embarrasing. Am wondering if caterer had made mistake in allocating the quantity of drinks for the number of guest. Wish we had chosen the other option ie fruit punch with pineapple instead. Also, the buffet set up is rather simple. Caterer acceded to my request not to use yellow or black table cloth as they do not look pleasant. So only red table cloth was used for this occasion.

Title: Finally found a caterer that gets western vegetarian right! I recently engaged Katong Catering for an event and this was my repeated order but first time in vegetarian food. I was looking for something very specific—quality vegetarian food with a strong Western tilt—and I struggled to find a caterer that could deliver that without it being overly expensive. Katong Catering was a absolute lifesaver. He personally helped curate a menu that fit my needs perfectly. The vegetarian lasagna and fusilli pasta were delicious, but the standout was the mock fried chicken—it tasted incredibly real! I also loved the focus on natural ingredients, like the perfectly roasted vegetables. As someone who is vegetarian but eats eggs and alliums, I was also so impressed by the scrambled eggs, which were cooked to perfection. If you need a caterer that is flexible, affordable, and high-quality, ask for Katong Catering. Amazing job!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Katong Catering charge per pax?

Per-pax pricing varies by menu format and headcount. Singapore market norms: standard buffet S$15–25/pax with a minimum of roughly 30 pax, premium buffet S$25–40/pax, mini-buffet for smaller groups S$18–30/pax with a minimum of 8–15 pax, and bento delivery S$8–18/pax. Live-station formats typically run S$30–60/pax. Beyond the base per-pax rate, confirm what is included versus billed separately: delivery and setup fee (which may increase for non-central or restricted-access venues), equipment rental (chafing dishes and warmers are sometimes included, sometimes charged extra), on-site buffet attendants (typically S$80–150 per attendant), waste collection, and GST. What dietary options and halal certification does Katong Catering offer?

Contact Katong Catering directly to confirm which dietary tracks are available — halal certification, vegetarian, no-beef, gluten-free, and nut-free options vary by provider. If halal is required, ask specifically whether the kitchen holds a MUIS certificate: a MUIS-issued halal certificate with a valid licence number is not the same as a 'no pork no lard' claim, and guests who require strict halal food should not accept the latter as a substitute. For mixed-faith guest lists, ask about cross-contamination protocols — whether halal and non-halal dishes are prepared and served separately. Vegetarian options should be confirmed as lacto-ovo or vegan depending on your guests' requirements. Most reputable caterers offer a menu tasting for orders above a minimum value; request one before committing to a deposit.

Is Katong Catering licensed and how is food safety handled?

Katong Catering is verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed operating details and the contact channel. The service holds a 4.5/5 rating across 62 Google reviews, a moderate sample that lends reasonable weight to consistent service. However, no regulatory licences are currently listed on this profile — ask Katong Catering directly to confirm their SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence and hygiene grade (A is highest, then B, C, D), and a MUIS halal certificate if halal menus are required. For food safety, cooked dishes should be delivered and served within a 2–3 hour window, with hot food held above 60°C and cold dishes below 5°C per SFA guidelines. Confirm setup arrival time, replenishment protocol for longer events, and the policy for safe handling of leftovers. Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
