About Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia

About Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia

Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia is a paediatric clinic located within the Mount Alvernia Hospital complex at 820 Thomson Road, Singapore 574623. It holds a 3.2/5 rating across 42 Google reviews — a moderate sample, though the score sits below the typical range for well-regarded private paediatric practices and warrants consideration before booking. No regulatory licences are currently listed in its public profile, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed, so prospective families should verify credentials directly before attending.

Families seeking paediatric care typically begin with a first consultation covering the child's presenting condition — fever, rash, respiratory illness, developmental concern, or routine vaccination under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule. The clinic's location inside Mount Alvernia Hospital means access to on-site diagnostics such as blood panels, urinalysis, and X-ray where indicated, with referral pathways to paediatric subspecialists if the condition warrants further review. Parents attending a private paediatric clinic as self-paying patients should note that consultation fees and investigations are subject to GST, and that Integrated Shield Plans layered on MediShield Life may cover inpatient admissions but generally do not cover outpatient GP-equivalent visits without a rider. MediSave can be used within the S$500 or S$700 outpatient withdrawal limits for selected chronic conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme.

To make an appointment, contact Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia by phone or through the enquiry form, confirm the consulting doctor's name and availability, and ask for a fee estimate — including consultation, any planned vaccinations, and likely investigations — before attending.

We had such a wonderful experience with Jenny and Karen at the Kids Clinic in Mount Avenia. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming, warm, and incredibly patient with both the kids and us. They took the time to listen to our concerns, explained everything clearly, and handled every situation with professionalism and genuine care. What impressed us most was their patience and the way they engaged with the children, making them feel comfortable and at ease throughout the visit. It’s rare to find staff who are not only skilled but also truly compassionate, and Jenny and Karen are a perfect example of this. We deeply appreciate their dedication and the thoughtful attention they provided. Their support made the visit smooth and stress-free, and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Anyone visiting the Kids Clinic at Mount Avenia would be in excellent hands with Jenny and Karen.

Dr. Simon accurately diagnosed my eldest child’s Kawasaki disease and saved her from potential heart damage. Before seeing him, we had visited a child specialist in the Upper Bukit Timah area three times over eight days because of a persistent high fever that would not subside. We are deeply grateful that Dr. Simon was so astute in his diagnosis and quick to act. He became our trusted family doctor for all three of our children for many years, and we truly appreciate his care and expertise.

Dr Simon was the duty PD who was assigned when each of my daughters was admitted on separate occasions. He quickly and accurately diagnosed my daughter as having Kawasaki’s despite not all the symptoms having presented and this allowed her to get the proper treatment before the inflammation got worse. While he might not have the best bedside manner, he is patient to explain should you ask

Very unlucky to have Dr Simon as the duty paediatrician on the morning our baby was delivered. For each of the 4 days that we were in the hospital, he came in for 1 minute each day. Each of the 4 times, he token-stated "Your child's blood group is B+, what is mother's blood group?" Then he would go off, presumably to repeat the same 1 minute routine for the other parents. It is hard to imagine that he can keep a business running on such standard of service.

Dr Simon Ng was my daughter's PD when she was admitted. Did not like his sloppy attitude and how he handled my child's case. I had to be the one nudging him and probing him to do more tests. He was not willing to listen to what was happening to my child and just want to quickly conclude and diagnose. My child did not get better but he asked for her to be discharged. He was also not caring towards my child. Very disappointed and would never recommend this doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia charge?

Private paediatric consultation fees in Singapore typically run S$80–150 for a first visit, with follow-ups at S$60–120. Investigations billed on top include blood panels (S$60–200), urine tests (S$20–50), and X-rays (S$80–150). NIP vaccinations are priced individually and vary by vaccine — ask for a fee schedule at the time of booking. Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia sits within a private hospital campus, so fees generally reflect private-sector pricing. GST applies on all consultations and procedures. If you hold an Integrated Shield Plan, check your policy's outpatient benefit before attending, as many plans cover inpatient stays but not standard outpatient paediatric visits. For any planned procedure, request a written cost estimate that separates insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate private clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must be on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences are currently listed in Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia's public KakiList profile. This does not necessarily mean they are absent, but it does mean you should ask the clinic to confirm the MOH clinic licence number and the consulting paediatrician's SMC registration number before booking. For paediatric subspecialty work, a fellowship with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) or the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS in Paediatric Medicine) is the relevant additional credential. Verify both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before attending — neither alone is sufficient.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Kids Clinic Mount Alvernia?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life typically cover paediatric inpatient admissions and day procedures, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms. Standard outpatient paediatric consultations are generally not covered without a specific outpatient rider — confirm with your insurer before attending. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500 annual limit, or up to S$700 under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for qualifying chronic conditions. Childhood vaccinations under the NIP can be claimed through MediSave at approved clinics — confirm with the clinic whether they are an approved CDMP or NIP MediSave provider. For any planned procedure or admission, request a financial counselling session and a written estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs before committing. Pre-authorisation or a Letter of Guarantee from your IP insurer is advisable for any planned inpatient episode.
