About Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson

About Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson

Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson is a paediatric healthcare provider located at Thomson Plaza, serving families across Singapore. The practice is KakiList-verified, confirming that operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a 4.2 out of 5 rating across 30 Google reviews, a moderate sample that offers a reasonable directional signal. No regulatory licences are currently listed in the provider's record, and prospective patients are strongly encouraged to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration before booking.

For a first paediatric appointment, parents typically decide between a direct walk-in to a private specialist (first consultation typically S$120–250, self-pay) or a polyclinic or GP referral to a public hospital specialist outpatient clinic at a subsidised rate of S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though non-urgent public waits run four to twelve weeks. At a private paediatric clinic, the consultation covers the child's developmental milestones, immunisation status under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP), presenting symptoms, and any indicated investigations such as blood work, X-rays, or referrals to allied health. Parents should bring the child's health booklet and any prior specialist letters. For planned procedures or day surgery, the clinic should provide a written financial counselling estimate that clearly separates insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions before any deposit is paid.

To make an appointment, contact Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson by phone or through the enquiry form and ask to confirm the consulting doctor's SMC registration, the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence, and whether your Integrated Shield Plan is accepted prior to your visit.

We’re so thankful for Dr. Lian, who has been looking after my 10-year-old son since May 2024. She helped us find the right treatment, medication, and dosage — and the difference in his overall behaviour, focus and regulation has been amazing. Dr. Lian is an incredibly experienced developmental paediatrician yet down-to-earth, and she genuinely cares about her young patients. You can really feel her dedication and love for children in the way she listens, explains, and follows up. The clinic team is always warm and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make every visit smooth and comfortable. Their prompt responses to parents' administrative questions have been most helpful. Our gratitude also goes out to Ms. Cindy, the psychologist who conducted my son’s psychological assessments and CBT therapy sessions. She’s very patient, professional, and insightful, and her friendly approach has helped my son gain better self-awareness and emotional regulation skills. We’re truly grateful to have found SpecialKids Clinic, and we wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lian, Ms. Cindy, and the entire team to any parent looking for genuine care and meaningful progress for their child.

i’m premature & autistic mom from indonesia, first of all, I ever got recommendation from my first son’s pediatric doctor at 2014, but since my first son’s development was no issue then i never come to this clinic. But, when it comes to second son, i notice my son was a bit lacking of developmental so i going to visit this clinic to get diagnose from Dr. Lian at 2023. And yes right, my second son was diagnose for ASD. Without any knowledge of this world, my first impression about specialkids clinic and doctor Lian was a really my saviour, all the suggestion isnt template and doctor Lian is really good doctor, and the connection was there. i really thankful her that my 2 years journey back then til now are a good progress, all the team from OT (chester), SLP (nina), BI (jocelyn) and EIP team also really good. they put all heart to intervention my son. i will always never hesitate to recommend this clinic and all the team if you really seek some help in developmental. Hopefully what you get same as much as like me and family. hope for good futurw ahead for our typical/neurotypical kids. trust the expertist and everything will lead the way. goodluck parents 🫶🏻

My son has been going to the clinic since he was 12 years old. He has showed a lot of improvement in his studies and general behaviour since then. Dr. Lian is a very friendly, easy to chat with person. My son connected with her very well and so did we. I don't think we could have done this journey with my son until he left high school without the advice and guidance of Dr. Lian . In trying times, she always calmed us down and gave us a different perspective. We are still learning. We hope to live upto her expectations of us as parents. The office staff have always been very helpful and courteous and we commend them for that. We wish Dr. Lian and staff the very best always and may they soar to greater heights , bringing light and solace to the children and their parents/care givers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson charge?

For a private paediatric specialist, a first consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Investigations billed on top of the consultation may include blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), and ultrasounds (S$150–400). Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) are priced per dose, typically S$30–80 each at private clinics. GST applies on private medical services. For planned procedures, request a written financial counselling estimate before paying any deposit — this should split the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions clearly. If cost is a concern, a polyclinic or GP referral to a public hospital specialist outpatient clinic (SOC) runs S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens after subsidy, though non-urgent waits are typically four to twelve weeks. Is Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must be listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences are currently recorded in Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson's listing, so parents should request both the clinic licence number and the named doctor's SMC registration number directly before booking. For paediatric surgical procedures, a Royal College or Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FRCS or FAMS) is the additional specialist credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic licence and the individual doctor's SMC entry — neither alone is sufficient.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Kids Intervention Specialists Upper Thomson?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500 or S$700 annual withdrawal limits — the higher S$700 limit applies to chronic conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which includes conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and others. For any planned paediatric procedure, request a financial counselling session at the clinic so you receive an itemised estimate in writing before committing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill.
