When exploring care options here, begin by arranging a care assessment to establish the elder's mobility, medical, and daily living needs. Clarify whether you require visit-based home nursing — such as wound care, medication management, or post-hospitalisation support — or a more comprehensive arrangement including personal care and companionship. Families should also identify all decision-makers early, as eldercare arrangements often involve multiple family members. Discuss the number of hours required per week, the nursing staff's qualifications, and whether a trial period is available to assess compatibility before committing to a longer arrangement.
Contact Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing to describe the elder's condition and care requirements, and request a written care plan and fee schedule before signing any agreement.
Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
I’ve been donating for the past few years. Recently, I thought of giving more time & resources for this organisation. After interacting with them and understanding from my research, I realised I’ve to give my reservation, My reservation: 1. The organisation is under partnership of 2 brothers. Actual running is being administered by the elder grandson at Silat. They tried to denied grandson is running the place, not sure why. 2. There’s no annual submission to ACRA, so their books are opaque although they have an accountant. That’s the reason why donations are not tax exempt. Don’t get me wrong, they contribute to our society by taking care of the elderly. As a public institution, the books must be audited and transparent. Do not hide here and there giving us public a trust issue.
17 Jun 2024: I drove past many times, the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home in Silat Road, opened in April 2017. The terrace houses look pretty and clean, nested amongst the high rises and the NNI and SGH buildings in Singapore General Hospital. This hot afternoon day around 12.15pm, I managed to shoot a a better photo from inside the car. I used shutter priority (TV) as I had no time to change settings. Aperture priority can also be used. The manual mode will need more time to adjust. Hence, it is best to use the TV Mode. I share my photo which is better than a thousand words.
A beautiful home for the elderly with a welcoming environment. They provide good pallative care. The space is clean, hygienic and provides nutritious meals. The staff is warm and friendly. Feels like a good community.
People here are nice and friendly. The place is big for elderly people to live and interact
Super nice people who always are kind and respectful. I wish them all the best!

Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home is listed under home nursing, which typically indicates visit-based care rather than a live-in arrangement — however, the scope of services is not detailed on this listing, so families should confirm directly what is available. Visit-based home nursing generally covers scheduled visits for clinical tasks such as wound care, catheter management, medication administration, and post-discharge monitoring, with hours agreed in advance. If a greater number of hours or overnight support is required, clarify whether the provider can accommodate this or whether a referral to a live-in arrangement would be more appropriate. A trial period of one to two weeks is worth requesting to assess whether the caregiver's approach suits the elder's routine and temperament before committing to a longer schedule.
No regulatory licences — such as AIC registration or MOH-accredited home care provider status — are recorded for Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home on this listing. For clinical home nursing, families should ask specifically whether the assigned nurses hold valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration, which is verifiable on the SNB public register. For non-clinical personal care roles, ask about relevant certifications such as the WSQ Home Personal Care or Dementia Care training. Confirm whether the provider carries insurance covering caregiver injury and any incidents involving the client during a session. If dementia or complex neurological conditions are involved, ask specifically about relevant training before the first visit.
