About Mount Alvernia Hospital Dietitian

About Mount Alvernia Hospital Dietitian

Mount Alvernia Hospital Dietitian is a nutrition and lifestyle service operating from the Mount Alvernia Hospital Medical Centre on Thomson Road. The listing is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed. It holds a 5/5 rating across 32 Google reviews, a moderate sample that suggests consistent patient satisfaction, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licence details are currently on file for this listing.

Patients typically begin with an initial consultation to discuss their dietary goals, health conditions, or clinical referral — common reasons include weight management, diabetes, renal disease, cardiovascular risk, gastrointestinal conditions, or post-surgical nutritional support. As the service is based within a hospital medical centre, many patients arrive with a referral letter from their specialist or GP, which may also be relevant for insurance reimbursement. Single consultations and follow-up packages are both common formats; confirm session frequency, duration, and any dietary assessment tools used at the first visit.

To book, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form and mention your clinical background or referral status so the dietitian can prepare appropriately for your first appointment.

I first got to know Dr Ho in 2021 at a government hospital where unfortunately i had to terminate my pregnancy due to medical condition. Dr Ho was in charge of my case and had been very empathetic and kind towards my husband and I. A year later, when i found out i’m pregnant again, i never hesitated to return to Dr Ho as i had the confidence in her and that i’ll be safe hands under her care. She delivered my rainbow baby in 2022 but I still return for annual check with her ever since. Now that she has gone into private practice, it is much more convenient to arrange for appointment with Dr Ho now. She is still ever friendly, caring and professional; didnt change any bit over the past 5 years. She spends time listening to her patients’ concern unlike other specialist where we patients sometimes feel very rushed. The Ascensus team is also friendly and approachable. Thumbs up to Dr Ho and her team!

I’m very grateful to Dr Ho and team for their continued kindness and support throughout my pregnancy. Dr Ho and all the staff have been consistently accommodating, friendly, and genuinely caring! Dr Ho always explains things very clearly, is extremely thorough, and never dismissive. Each consultation has been reassuring, especially when I feel anxious (like all the time). The staff are equally wonderful, always patient, kind, and welcoming! I truly appreciate the care and support I’m receiving here and honestly don’t know what I would do without them!!

Got an appointment to see Dr Ho quite quickly. Appreciate that she was able to fit me in on short notice. She was very caring and listened to my concerns, she took her time at the appointment address all my questions and listen to my medical history. The nurses and receptionist were also very helpful, empathetic and lovely.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Mount Alvernia Hospital Dietitian charge per session?

Dietitian consultation fees in Singapore typically range from S$80 to S$180 per session in a private hospital or specialist clinic setting. As this service is located within Mount Alvernia Hospital's Medical Centre, fees may align with the hospital's outpatient billing structure, and GST will apply. Package rates for multiple follow-up sessions are sometimes available at a lower per-session cost than individual bookings. Confirm the exact fee, package options, and whether your Integrated Shield Plan or company medical benefits cover dietitian consultations before your first appointment. A referral letter from a specialist or GP may be required for insurance reimbursement. See the full Nutrition & Lifestyle cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Mount Alvernia Hospital Dietitian is based within a hospital medical centre, so many patients arrive via a specialist referral — for example, from an endocrinologist (diabetes), nephrologist (renal diet), cardiologist (cardiac diet), or gastroenterologist. A referral is not always mandatory for a self-funded consultation, but having one helps the dietitian access relevant clinical history and may be required if you intend to claim through insurance or MediSave. At the first visit, expect a detailed intake assessment covering medical history, current medications, dietary habits, and specific goals. Bring any recent blood results, a referral letter if you have one, and a rough food diary if possible. Contraindications and restrictions relevant to your condition will be discussed before any dietary plan is issued.

Is the practitioner licensed?

Dietitians in Singapore are allied health professionals regulated under the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). Registered dietitians hold an AHPC licence, which is verifiable on the AHPC public register at this address: https://www.healthprofessionals.gov.sg. Practising within a hospital setting such as Mount Alvernia further indicates that the dietitian meets the institution's credentialling standards. No regulatory licence details are currently listed on this KakiList profile, so it is advisable to confirm the consulting dietitian's full name and AHPC registration number directly before booking. This is particularly important if your consultation forms part of a clinical care plan or insurance claim. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
