About Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital

About Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital

Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital is a private specialist hospital located at 38 Irrawaddy Rd, Singapore 329563, serving patients islandwide across paediatric and other specialist disciplines. KakiList has verified its operating details and contact channels. It holds a 3.6 out of 5 rating across 520 Google reviews, which represents a robust sample size. No regulatory licence details have been supplied to KakiList at the time of listing — patients should confirm the hospital's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the SMC registration of their consulting paediatrician directly before booking.

For paediatric consultations, families typically access Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital either by walking in directly to a private paediatric specialist (first consultation typically S$120–250, self-pay) or via a polyclinic or GP referral letter for a subsidised outpatient route at a public hospital, though the latter is a separate pathway. At a private hospital setting, the paediatrician will review the child's developmental history, vaccination status against the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule, and presenting condition before ordering any necessary investigations — blood work, X-ray, or ultrasound — and forming a management plan. For planned procedures or day surgery, a financial counselling session should be requested in advance so that the written estimate clearly splits MediShield Life and Integrated Shield Plan coverage, MediSave deductions, and the out-of-pocket portion.

To arrange a paediatric consultation at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, contact the hospital directly by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm the relevant specialist's availability, the consultation fee, and your insurer's pre-authorisation requirements before your appointment date.

Here’s a clearer and more concise version: > I was warded here for 3.5 days and did not regret my choice. The room was spacious and clean, fully stocked with toiletries, and housekeeping was done daily (including changing the bedsheets). The nurses were very polite, proactive, and helpful — I did not encounter anyone who was unfriendly or unapproachable. In fact, they consistently reminded me to call if I needed anything or assistance getting out of bed. The food variety was excellent, and some dishes were really delicious. My only feedback is a small point: I hope the drinking cup can be changed daily when new flasks of water are provided. Highly recommended!

Countless times i went to this hospital, but felt like you’re in a hotel. Great facilities & since its Christmas season they well decorated the lobby, I believed its uplifting to patients & families to always see a bright side of any situation despite its a hospital. - Kopi & Tarts at Level 1 is always my fav place to have breakfast Also have Starbucks, Guardian, 7-11, etc… Nearest MRT is Novena only 200m away

I came to the prenatal radiology lab for normal pelvis scan. It was early morning 8.30am scan. Both of the staff seem really cold however the staff wearing specs mid age lady was extremely cold and not friendly. Giving an attitude problem so early in the morning?! She asked for IC and then later said something like ‘don’t go yet got a lot of forms to fill’. She could use better phasing and act like a professional. I have an appointment at the private Gynae Aster Clinic later on so I had to do the scan at the hospital radiology first. I wasn’t sure about the process or how the scan images/information would be sent to the gynae Doctor later. I had thought it would be sent to them electronically through the system. However, after my scan at the lab, that desk staff gave me a big envelope. Not explaining what it is inside or what to do about it. So I asked her politely ‘what do I do about this?. Do I give this to the doctor or keep?’ and she replied rudely ‘I suppose so?!’. I was taken aback. I mean she could replied politely or at least in a normal friendly manner. If you have such a bad attitude so early morning or hate your job, better not work at front desk facing or talking to patients/customers. This is such a bad experience considering this is a private hospital and also at the scan lab. Do look into the attitude and service of this staff. I’ve already written to the website feedback site and didn’t get any reply whatsoever.

I had a wonderful experience with the hospital’s car valet service. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. They greeted me right away, explained the process clearly, and made everything feel effortless during what could have been a stressful visit. The valet team handled my car with care, and it was ready for me the moment I returned—no waiting, no hassle. The convenience made a huge difference, especially in a hospital setting where every minute and every bit of comfort counts. The service was organized, efficient, and very well-run. I appreciated the courteous attitude of the staff and the peace of mind knowing my car was in good hands. Highly recommend this valet service to anyone visiting the hospital. It truly adds ease and comfort at a time when it’s needed most!

This hospital is world class but my second encounter with Celeste on the day honestly blew me away. She clearly goes above and beyond and made me feel like I was coming home as opposed to coming for a day surgery!! She needs a promotion, her interpersonal skills are top 0.01%

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital charge?

At a private hospital such as Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, a first paediatric specialist consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Investigations billed on top of the consultation commonly include a full blood count or metabolic panel (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), ultrasound (S$150–400), and CT or MRI scans (S$400–1,800). Prescription fees and follow-up reviews are charged separately. For any planned procedure or day surgery — common paediatric examples include adenotonsillectomy, myringotomy, or hernia repair — costs typically range from S$3,000 to S$15,000+ depending on complexity and ward class. Always request a written financial counselling estimate from the hospital before proceeding; this should itemise the expected insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and your out-of-pocket portion. GST applies on private medical services. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate private hospital in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. No licence details have been submitted to KakiList for this listing, so patients should confirm the hospital's current licence status directly on the MOH website before booking. Every practising paediatrician is individually registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) — search by name at smc.gov.sg to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. For paediatric subspecialists (paediatric cardiology, neonatology, paediatric surgery), an FAMS or relevant Royal College fellowship is the meaningful additional credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the hospital's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before attending.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital?

Integrated Shield Plans layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms. Contact your insurer to confirm pre-authorisation requirements and, for any planned procedure, request a Letter of Guarantee before the admission date to avoid claim disputes after treatment. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500 general outpatient withdrawal limit, or up to S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions. Paediatric vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme are not MediSave-claimable at private facilities. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling session at the hospital — the estimate should clearly split the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portion before you pay any deposit.
