Special thanks to Ms Stella Aw Yong and Dr Vanessa Lim for providing the best patience experience we have ever encountered in Singapore public healthcare. My kid has been seeing Dr Lim for teenage acne issue. Went to clinic 6a for my appointment for my skin issues. The nurses at the counter were polite and one kept her cool when dealing with a challenging patient. The doctor I saw was professional, polite and effecient. Had to do an injection right after which the male nurse who attended to me was nice. Whole process was fast and smooth. I went into clinic 6a at 3:20 and collected my prescription at 4:30. I was initially frightened by the reviews but going there changed my mind.

Worst Services. Appointment time at 8:30A. Arrived NSC at 8:23A. Time check now at 9:48A, still not being called. Clinic 5A. Check with counter staff. Was told my queue number keep pushing down. 6 patients ahead of being called while I am still waiting. Until now still waiting!! This is ridiculous!!!! Wasting my time!! I am so frustrated.!!!!

Over the last 6 years of seeking treatment here, it appears not much has changed. Many remark a new and modern building, but the same impatient, and passive-agressive staff. I myself have been in situations where I feel cornered by the counter staff, asked not to raise my voice when it is 3 of them against me. I am not even allowed to speak. In email to my feedback, all they can say is " Both XX and YY acknowledge that they could have explained ZZ more clearly and apologise if their advice had come across as unprofessional and rude. We have since reminded them on the need to be more sensitive and mindful in their communication with patients and to always uphold our service standards.". This was 1 year ago, yet many reviews since then still send the same message. I can confidently say that if you are going to one of the clinics at level 7, good luck. It appears the issues described in the reviews are systemic and deeply rooted. On balance, some of the doctors I met here were the most understanding and brightest people I ever met. I only feel a sense of regret that it seems that that is not the impression National Skin Centre leaves to the majority of visitors. If possible, and if your insurance allows, avoid and seek private treatment. Doctors can review follow up for within XX dates, but you will not be given an appointment. Quote from an email from them "we are currently experiencing heavy bookings with very limited slots for the next 8 months. In view of limited slots, we have our doctors’ concurrence that in the current situation, appointments for closer dates are necessarily prioritized according to clinical criteria, for example, patients on potent high alert medications which require very close monitoring. As your case is not within such criteria, we regret that we are presently unable to offer you any earlier date" I have since discontinued my treatment with them as I have changed insurance plans which makes seeking treatment elsewhere a viable alternative, with much less stress involved.

A very horrible management and queue system that wastes patient's time. Appointment was scheduled for 410pm yet upon arrival had to wait for more than an hour. The management really needs to look into the appointment system. It is ridiculous to have a scheduled appointment and yet wait for hours beyond the scheduled time. All the clinic doctors are like practicing doctors or what?! All relying and depending on just one "expert" doctor rushing through all the 8 rooms.
