About Nya Tuition
Nya Tuition is a tuition centre based at 175 Bencoolen St, #08-02, Singapore 189649, serving families islandwide. It is KakiList verified and registered with ACRA. The centre holds a perfect 5/5 rating on Google, though this is based on 7 reviews — a small sample that should be treated as directional rather than conclusive.
Families looking to enrol should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the tuition covers MOE primary, secondary, or junior college syllabuses, or international curricula such as IB or IGCSE. It is worth clarifying whether sessions are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both pacing and price. Ask about trial class availability, term commitment expectations, and whether lessons are held in-centre at Bencoolen or delivered online. Given the central location near Rochor and Bugis MRT stations, the centre is reasonably accessible from most parts of Singapore.
To take the next step, reach out to Nya Tuition via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, confirm the subjects and levels offered, and arrange a trial class before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
The lessons have been very useful in helping me identify my weak areas to work on. Alwyn is always thorough in his explanations of the various concepts and makes it more manageable to grasp the material as a whole. At the same time, he makes sure that lessons are also enjoyable and never fails to clarify any of my doubts. It's thanks to his guidance and encouragement that I was able to improve in my Physics:)
Lessons are fun and informative. Alwyn and KS are both really amazing. They have made lessons very easy to comprehend and are both very patient with me, whenever I have questions or doubts about any concepts. They know the concepts like the back of their hands. Lessons are not just academic lessons, but life lessons as well. Thank you both so much. I really appreciate all the help and I'm glad that I am still in touch with the both of you!
The jc physics syllabus is very hectic and it is hard to cram so much information in a span of 1.5 years. On top of that, the nature of physics as a subject relies on contextual understanding and applications of mathematics and concepts learnt, rather than pure knowledge of the concepts itself. Such complications, piled with the immense depth of knowledge we are expected to have for the physics jc syllabus, makes physics a rather hard subject to score. Through j1 and the first half of j2, i struggled to score for physics, not because i didnt know what i was supposed to know, but because i didnt know what the examiners expected from me. I knew the concepts individually, but was unable to piece them together. Even when i knew the answer to certain questions, i was unable to put them into words and phrases in which the examiners were looking out for. I met Mr Alwyn after my Mid Years in j2, and i would like to express my gratitude towards him for being the most patient and versatile tutor i've ever met. Mr Alwyn does not really have a fixed "teaching style", but rather adapts himself to how a student learns best. He's also a very patient tutor, one that can answer the same question over and over when you throw them back at him each time you forget the same concept (generally, tutors would get pretty annoyed). Last but not least, Mr Alwyn extends the bonds formed with him beyond the classroom. Even till today, as i am serving my National Service, i am still in contact with Mr Alwyn. The close ties formed with him made me dare to approach him with "stupid" questions more without the fear of being lashed out on, which eventually strengthened my physics abilities much more than i had expected. As such, i was able to improve my physics from an E during Mid Years to an A for A levels under his guidance in a span of a few months. Thanks Mr Alwyn!
Mr Chan’s lessons were very useful as they were focused on content mastery and understanding. I used to be really weak in Chemistry as I did not have a firm foundation, but Mr Chan patiently guided me through useful summaries and lots of practice questions, and this enabled me to grasp a firm understanding of the difficult concepts. This enabled me to improve from a 4 to a 7 points (80%) in my final IB examination for Chemistry. Thank you very much!
Alwyn is a really dedicated Physics teacher who makes difficult Physics concepts easy to understand. 10/10 would recommend!

Pricing details for Nya Tuition are not publicly listed, so it is best to contact them directly for a current fee schedule. As a general guide, tuition centres in Singapore typically charge on a per-session or monthly package basis, with rates varying by subject, level, and format — group sessions tend to be more affordable than one-to-one arrangements. Ask whether a trial class is available and whether it is priced separately from the regular term rate. Also confirm whether there are any additional costs such as registration fees, materials or workbooks, or sibling discounts for families enrolling more than one child. Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class before requiring a term commitment, and it is worth asking Nya Tuition whether this option is available and whether a fee applies. A trial session gives your child the opportunity to experience the teaching style and pace, and allows you to assess whether the level of instruction is appropriately matched to their current ability. During or after the trial, observe whether your child was engaged and whether the tutor addressed gaps in understanding rather than simply covering content. Ask for feedback on where your child stands relative to the syllabus — this is a useful indicator of the tutor's diagnostic capability before you commit to a full term.
Credential details for Nya Tuition's tutors are not publicly available in the current listing. When enquiring, it is worth asking directly about each tutor's academic background, whether they hold a degree in the relevant subject, and whether they have prior MOE teaching experience or NIE training. Syllabus alignment is equally important — confirm that the tutor is familiar with the specific examination board or curriculum your child is following, whether that is MOE PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE. Years of teaching experience and familiarity with common exam question formats are also practical indicators of quality. Do not hesitate to request this information before enrolling, as it directly affects how well the tuition will complement your child's school curriculum.
