About Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home

About Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home

Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home is an eldercare provider offering home nursing services across Singapore, based at 19 Toh Drive. The listing has been verified by KakiList and the business is registered with ACRA. It holds a 4/5 rating across 10 Google reviews, though this is a small sample and should be treated as directional only. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range level on an hourly basis.

Families typically begin by requesting a care assessment to establish the elder's mobility, medical, and daily living needs. This informs decisions about the number of hours required per week, the clinical scope of care (such as wound dressing, medication administration, or post-hospitalisation monitoring), and whether visit-based nursing is sufficient or whether a more intensive arrangement is needed. It is worth involving all key family decision-makers early, as home nursing schedules often need to align with household routines. A trial period is advisable to confirm that the caregiver's approach suits the elder's temperament and the family's expectations.

To take the next step, contact Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home by phone to discuss your loved one's care needs and arrange an initial assessment.

Patrick, Rafiah and their team of caregivers serve the residents with a heart. At all times, they ensure that they are well-fed and comfortable. Patrick, the boss, is often seen hand-feeding the residents. Rafiah, a very experienced head nurse, ensures that the residents are well-taken care of. My mum was there for more than a year, and we are very appreciative of the team's care for her.

To all potential nursing home seekers don't bother with this home. A nursing home that does not entertain any questions when asked, being evasive and almost to a point of being rude and finally abruptly ended the call. For clarification, only standard questions like how many staff, beds, costs, consumables cost....etc were asked but..when it came to costs, (Patrick Tan - owner?) did not like being asked and ended the call abruptly. On top of this he also said he does not accept anyone that is mobile. Nowhere on the website does it state this fact and the pictures shows quite a number of elderly exercising and they are mobile!. Ask yourself this; after such a call, will you send your loved one there when you are seeking potential future admission and get treated in this manner by the owner? Attitude and manners conveyed in the phone conversation spoke volumes. I have rung over 10 homes and none of them 'behaved' and 'acted' in such poor manner. You are struck off the list. (Have to give one star unfortunately to post this)

Services could definitely be improved, but the staff are trying their best with the resources they have available. Overall, not a bad option if you are looking for elderly care in the area.

Quiet environment. They need to keep up with the queries and feedbacks they receive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home charge?

Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home operates on an hourly pricing model, which is typical for home nursing services in Singapore. Market rates for home nursing generally range from S$25 to S$60 or more per hour depending on the level of clinical skill required, the duration of each visit, and whether the visit falls on a public holiday, which often attracts a surcharge. For families budgeting across a month, it is worth confirming in advance whether the rate quoted covers the nurse's time only or also includes consumables such as dressings and medication delivery devices. Some providers also charge a separate agency or coordination fee on top of the hourly rate. Contact the home directly by phone to obtain a written quote tailored to your loved one's care plan. Live-in or visit-based — which does Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home offer?

Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home is listed under home nursing, which typically means scheduled visit-based care rather than live-in arrangements. A visiting nurse attends at agreed times to carry out clinical tasks — such as wound care, catheter management, blood pressure monitoring, or post-operative support — and does not remain on the premises between visits. The number of visits per week and the duration of each session should be matched to the care plan drawn up during the initial assessment. If round-the-clock supervision is required, families may need to supplement home nursing visits with a separate live-in caregiver or foreign domestic worker arrangement. A trial period of two to four weeks is advisable to confirm that the visit schedule meets the elder's actual needs before committing to a longer arrangement. Contact the provider directly to confirm current service scope and scheduling flexibility.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Home nurses providing clinical care in Singapore are expected to hold nursing qualifications, and registered nurses should hold a valid practising certificate with the Singapore Nursing Board under the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) framework. Enrolled nurses operate under a separate registration tier. Families should ask the provider to confirm the clinical grade of the nurse assigned, as the scope of procedures they can perform differs between registered and enrolled nurses. Note that Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home does not currently list AIC or MOH registration in its publicly held licences on KakiList, which is a requirement for home care providers offering clinical services — this should be verified directly with the provider before commencing care. Also confirm whether the organisation holds insurance covering both caregiver injury and any incidents involving the client during a home visit. Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
