About Petite Smiles Children Dental Clinic
Petite Smiles Children Dental Clinic is a paediatric dental practice located at Novena Medical Center, serving families islandwide. It holds a 4.7/5 rating across 58 Google reviews, a moderate sample that suggests consistent patient satisfaction, though prospective patients should verify current operating details directly. No regulatory licences are listed in the public record for this listing, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed — parents are encouraged to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting dentist's Singapore Dental Council (SDC) registration before booking.
A first visit to a paediatric dental clinic typically begins with a full oral examination, X-rays where clinically indicated, and a discussion of the child's dental development and hygiene habits. Paediatric dentists are trained to manage dental anxiety in young children, using behaviour-guidance techniques such as tell-show-do, nitrous oxide sedation, or general anaesthesia for more complex treatment in appropriate cases. Common procedures include fissure sealants, fluoride varnish, fillings, extractions, and space maintainers. Parents should bring the child's medical history and any previous dental records to the first appointment. For planned procedures, request a written cost estimate itemising the procedure, investigations, and the out-of-pocket portions after any MediSave or insurance deductions.
To make an appointment, contact Petite Smiles Children Dental Clinic by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing, confirm the consulting dentist's name and SDC registration number, and ask for a written fee estimate before the visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Dental Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Highly recommend this dental clinic for children. Dr Melissa is super smooth yet thorough with the cleaning and explanation to my children, giving very good advice on their brushing and dental care. Helps that there are books at the waiting area and also a tv attached to the dental station which can be helpful for younger children during their session. We have been coming here for the last two years!
Highly recommended. Dr Melissa managed to do a filling for my 4yo at the first visit fuss-free! Amazing and she is super nice!
Dr. Melissa is an exceptional dentist, especially with children. She was incredibly gentle and patient with my daughter during the visit, taking the time to explain each step and ensure she felt safe and comfortable throughout. My daughter can be quite anxious about medical appointments, but Dr. Melissa’s calm and friendly approach helped her relax almost immediately. What really stood out was how Dr. Melissa spoke to my daughter directly, treating her with kindness and respect while also engaging her in a fun and reassuring way. She never rushed us, answered all of our questions clearly, and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. It’s such a relief to find a dentist who genuinely cares about children’s comfort and emotional well-being, not just their teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Melissa to any parent looking for a kind, professional, and truly wonderful dentist for their child!

Paediatric dental fees in Singapore vary by procedure. A first consultation typically runs S$80–150 at a private specialist clinic. Common add-ons include X-rays (S$30–80 per film or S$80–150 for a full-mouth series), fissure sealants (S$50–100 per tooth), fluoride varnish (S$30–60), fillings (S$80–250 per tooth depending on size and material), and extractions (S$80–200). Procedures under nitrous oxide sedation carry an additional S$80–200, and cases requiring general anaesthesia are substantially higher. GST applies on private dental services. For any planned procedure, request a written cost estimate from the clinic that separates the procedure fee, investigations, and your out-of-pocket amount after MediSave and insurance deductions. MediSave can be used for selected dental procedures under medically necessary criteria — confirm eligibility at the clinic. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate dental clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising dentist must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) — searchable by name on the SDC public register to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in paediatric dentistry, and any disciplinary history. No licences are listed in the public record for this listing. Parents should ask the clinic directly for the MOH clinic licence number and the consulting dentist's SDC registration number, then cross-check both before booking. Paediatric dentists with specialist accreditation will hold a Fellowship in Paediatric Dentistry from the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification — confirm this if your child has complex dental or medical needs.
Most routine dental consultations and preventive treatments are not MediSave-claimable in Singapore, as MediSave is generally restricted to medically necessary procedures. However, selected dental surgery — such as surgical extraction of impacted teeth or dental treatment under general anaesthesia for children — may qualify for MediSave withdrawal. Confirm the specific procedure's MediSave eligibility with the clinic before the appointment. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life may cover dental procedures performed under general anaesthesia during an inpatient or day-surgery admission, subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Check with your insurer and request a pre-authorisation or Letter of Guarantee before any planned procedure. For all planned procedures, request a written financial counselling estimate from the clinic itemising the procedure cost, MediSave deduction, insurance payout, and out-of-pocket amount before paying any deposit.
