About Psychiatric Care Clinic

About Psychiatric Care Clinic

Psychiatric Care Clinic is located at Gleneagles Medical Centre on Napier Road and lists paediatric psychiatry among its focus areas. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channels, though no regulatory licences — including an MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration — have been confirmed in this listing. With only 6 Google reviews at 4.3 out of 5, the rating should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. No pricing information is publicly available for this provider.

Patients or parents seeking an appointment would typically contact the clinic by phone or through the online enquiry form to confirm the consulting psychiatrist's SMC registration and specialist accreditation in psychiatry, the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, and whether a polyclinic or GP referral letter is held (which can support a subsidised SOC pathway, though this is a private clinic setting). For paediatric psychiatric presentations — including attention difficulties, mood disorders, anxiety, or neurodevelopmental concerns — the first consultation at a private specialist typically runs S$120–250, with investigations, psychological testing, and follow-up billed separately. Integrated Shield Plan pre-authorisation and MediSave eligibility under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for qualifying mental health conditions are worth confirming before the appointment.

Contact Psychiatric Care Clinic directly by phone or through their enquiry form to confirm the consulting doctor's name, SMC registration status, and the clinic's MOH licence before booking — both are verifiable on public government registers.

Dr Chan is a kind, empathetic and knowledgeable doctor. He always take the time to explain things to help me to understand the treatment process and the options available. He has played an essential role in my recovery.

I have been a patient of Dr Christopher Chan since 2017. I have a treatment-resistant mood disorder that is very complex. It took many years of continuous effort from Dr Chan and I (as well as other doctors who played a role in my care) to successfully stabilise and treat my condition. Throughout this journey, Dr Chan has consistently been patient and encouraging regardless of whether I may have been difficult to deal with during my episodes or if the nature of the situation demands a lot from him. He has taught me the value and importance of a good patient-doctor relationship. The rapport and trust we have built up allows me to comfortably share issues with him even if the topic is heavily stigmatised. In his private practice, I like his willingness to take charge of my care or to take a backseat and act as a second opinion. I value his transparency and his willingness to divulge what he is thinking to me, which I find is rare among doctors. I appreciate that he empowers me to make decisions for my own care by using his expertise to guide my decisions. He presents what options are available to me and what are the costs and benefits of each option. I also trust that if I were to become extremely unwell and needed him to make decisions for me, that he would always act in my best interests. Some feedback would be that sometimes clinic staff would need to speak to me about my medicine or the cost of it, but because the clinic is very small everyone can hear the conversation. I personally am not that bothered but I recognise others may take issue with it.

Really bad experience. Doctor Christopher Chan literally do not care about my feelings. Reception lady has awful attitude. 0/10. Highly NOT recommend. If you want to spend $300 for consultation fee, and have a doctor whose not care about your mental health, then go for it.

We can’t thank Dr. L.K. Tay and his team enough for the care and understanding they’ve shown my mum. My mother has struggled with depression, anxiety, and multiple health issues for years. We had tried many doctors, private and public clinics, public hospitals, and different medications, but nothing seemed to help. On my aunt’s recommendation, my mum saw Dr. Tay. From the very first visit, he listened carefully, offered practical guidance, and showed genuine compassion. After just one or two visits, we noticed a significant improvement in her mood, anxiety, and overall wellbeing. The clinic team were also wonderful – kind, supportive, and professional throughout. Since then, we’ve been sharing our positive experience with family and friends, and my first aunt has also consulted him. We feel truly blessed to have met Dr. Tay. Thank you, Buddha and God, for guiding us to him – your care and support have meant so much to us. Highly recommend! Best wishes, J & G

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Psychiatric Care Clinic charge?

No fee schedule is publicly available for Psychiatric Care Clinic. As a general guide, first specialist consultations at private psychiatric clinics in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Investigations billed on top may include psychological assessments or structured diagnostic tools, which can add S$300–800 or more depending on scope. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned course of treatment, ask for a written financial counselling estimate that separates insurance payout, MediSave deduction under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), and out-of-pocket portions. If you hold an Integrated Shield Plan, confirm pre-authorisation requirements before the first appointment. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is Psychiatric Care Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration has been confirmed in this listing, which is an important gap for a medical provider. Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation (in this case, in psychiatry or paediatric psychiatry), and any disciplinary history. Before booking, search the consulting doctor's name on the SMC register and look up the clinic address on the MOH licensee directory. Neither step takes more than a few minutes and both are essential, particularly for a mental health consultation involving a child.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Psychiatric Care Clinic?

Selected mental health conditions — including anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, and others — are covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which allows MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700 per year for outpatient treatment at approved CDMP providers. Confirm whether Psychiatric Care Clinic is a CDMP-enrolled provider before your first visit, as not all private psychiatric clinics participate. Integrated Shield Plans layered on MediShield Life may cover specialist consultations and day procedures subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For paediatric patients, confirm whether the child's plan covers outpatient psychiatric specialist fees. Request a written financial counselling estimate at the clinic before committing to any course of treatment so the insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions are clear in advance.
