About SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio

About SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio

SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio is a paediatric clinic located at 721 Ang Mo Kio Ave 8, serving families across Singapore. It holds a KakiList verification and carries a rating of 4.1 out of 5 from 122 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides reasonable confidence in the score. No regulatory licences have been confirmed in the listing data, so parents are advised to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting paediatrician's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration directly before booking.

A first visit to a private paediatric specialist typically costs S$120–250 for an initial consultation, with follow-ups at S$80–180. SBCC clinics commonly see children for the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule, developmental milestone reviews, acute illness (fever, respiratory infection, rashes), and chronic conditions such as asthma and eczema. Before attending, it is worth confirming which paediatrician will be consulting, their SMC specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and whether your Integrated Shield Plan (IP) covers private specialist outpatient visits — most IPs require a referral letter or impose a co-insurance and deductible on specialist claims. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) or the S$500/S$700 withdrawal limits for qualifying conditions.

To book an appointment, contact the clinic by phone or through the enquiry form, and bring your child's health booklet, vaccination records, and any referral letter from your GP or polyclinic if one has been issued.

We have consulted Dr Stephanie on multiple occasions and have always appreciated her patience, professionalism, and willingness to take time to answer our questions thoroughly. This has been the main reason we continue returning to her clinic for our child’s care. However, our most recent visit left us disappointed due to an unpleasant experience with a front counter staff member(Vivian). We brought our son in after he suffered a fall. Unfortunately, my husband arrived late and missed the initial consultation with the doctor. He arrived just as the staff were about to begin dressing our son’s wound. When he asked several clinical questions, the nurse attending to us was unable to answer them and advised that we speak to the doctor again after the dressing was completed. When we approached the counter to request a second consultation, the staff member attending to us informed us that an additional consultation fee would be required and mentioned that our insurance only covered a consultation duration of ten minutes. When I tried to explain that my husband had missed the initial consultation and simply wanted clarification, the response felt curt and unempathetic, and we were told to speak to the clinic manager instead. As parents of an injured child, we had expected a more caring and understanding approach, especially in a paediatric clinic. The interaction made us feel that the focus was on payment rather than patient care. To clarify, our concern was never about paying, as our dependants are covered by company insurance — it was the manner and lack of empathy that was upsetting. While we continue to value Dr Stephanie’s care and professionalism, we hope the clinic management will review this incident and provide further staff training to ensure a more patient-centred and compassionate experience for families in the future.

I have visited this clinic multiple times. Dr Stephanie was a superb doctor. She was caring and one of the best PD doctors I have ever seen. However, if your attending doctor is Dr Chia Foong Lin, please avoid at all cost. She didn’t show any empathy and reassurance towards our concerns. Being first time parents, empathy is very important as we do not have the right knowledge and we trust the doctor will be able to advise better, but Dr Chia’s advice was very templated and she got annoyed when we asked questions. It just seemed like she wanted to get it over and done with the session. Please do make an appointment with Dr Stephanie if you are going to visit. Highly recommended.

We recently visited SBCC Ang Mo Kio for my kids’ consultation and saw Dr. Stephanie. She was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the session. She listened carefully as I explained my children’s symptoms and gave thoughtful, practical advice. What impressed me most was how she made my child feel comfortable with the stethoscope — she encouraged him to “play doctor” and let him join in as if he were the doctor himself. Thanks to her gentle approach, he wasn’t scared at all during the check-up. Her advice on the medication and symptoms really gave me peace of mind. I’ll definitely continue bringing my children to her for future visits. The nurses at SBCC Ang Mo Kio are always warm and friendly as well — it’s comforting to see that the care and kindness here never change.

Been to SBCC outlet since my toddler has been an infant. As they have a round of different doctors, we recently met Dr Stephanie Hii and we really love her patience and her attitude toward my toddler. She show the upmost kindness and compassion whenever I am having anxiety due to my toddler being sick. She doesn’t judge any stupid questions that I ask and has nothing but empathy when I asked. Dr Hii is also super professional and able to answer any questions or concerns that I have. She make me feel at ease and often encourages me whenever I feel like I’m having anxiety. Grateful for her and glad that SBCC hire good grade doctors.

My kids have seen Dr Chan Kit Yee and Dr Stephanie Hii for multiple visits, both doctors are very gentle and good with children. They are professional and provide many helpful advices. Additionally, all the nurses are super helpful and professional as well. Very thorough explanation of the medications that I’ve to give my kids. Good experience with the clinic!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio charge?

A first paediatric consultation at a private clinic in Singapore typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. On top of the consultation fee, expect additional charges for investigations such as a blood panel (S$60–200), urine dipstick or culture, throat swab, or a chest X-ray (S$80–150) where clinically indicated. Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) are billed per dose — combination vaccines commonly run S$80–200 per jab at private clinics. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure or investigation, ask for a written fee estimate that separates the consultation, investigation, and medication components. This makes it easier to reconcile with your Integrated Shield Plan insurer or to apply MediSave where eligible. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →

Is SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory by clinic name or address. Every practising paediatrician must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg; search by name to confirm active registration, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been confirmed in the current listing data for SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio, so parents should verify both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry directly before booking — neither alone is sufficient. SBCC is a known paediatric clinic group in Singapore, but verification through official government registries remains the responsible step regardless of brand familiarity. Confirm both before your child's first appointment.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Ang Mo Kio?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider terms. For outpatient paediatric visits, most IPs do not cover routine specialist consultations without a referral letter — check your policy before attending to avoid an unexpected out-of-pocket bill. MediSave can be used under the S$500/S$700 Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) withdrawal limit for qualifying conditions including asthma, and for selected vaccinations on the childhood immunisation schedule. For any planned procedure or day surgery, request a financial counselling session at the clinic before the procedure date. The clinic should provide an itemised written estimate splitting the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill. Confirm pre-authorisation with your IP insurer in advance for procedures where a Letter of Guarantee may be required.
