About SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Bukit Panjang
SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Bukit Panjang is a paediatric clinic located at Bukit Panjang Plaza, offering consultations for infants, children, and adolescents. It holds a 4/5 rating across 167 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides a reasonable signal of patient experience. The clinic operates on a mid-range fee structure ($$), consistent with private specialist paediatric pricing in Singapore.
Families typically begin with a first consultation, either as a walk-in or by appointment via phone or the online enquiry form. Paediatric visits commonly cover acute illnesses (fever, respiratory infections, skin conditions), the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule, developmental milestone assessments, and chronic condition management such as asthma or eczema. Investigations such as blood panels, urine tests, or referral for imaging may be arranged depending on the presenting concern. Parents should bring the child's vaccination record and, for repeat visits, any referral letters or discharge summaries from hospital. Those with Integrated Shield Plans should confirm with their insurer whether specialist outpatient consultations are covered under their rider terms, and whether pre-authorisation is required.
To book an appointment, contact SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Bukit Panjang directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their website, and bring the child's health booklet and NIP records to the first visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
FYI- Dr Tan will be away 13-18 Feb 2026. I would like to request a system for notifying parents of off days eg. updating google map opening hours, so we can avoid unnecessary trips, particularly when a child is unwell.
Dr Tan is a very experienced, patient and caring doctor. He has been seeing both my child since young and I’m very confident of his diagnosis. Highly recommended.
The staff says the waiting time for baby consultation takes about 1 hour. Instead it takes almost 2 hours before my turn giving many excuses (I.e. policy) as though it is their policy to make parent wait for long hours. There is no communication to parent that the queue will be long. If can, better choose other PD clinic.
My first visit to this clinic and like everyone commented, the wait can be quite long. I do appreciate Dr Tan's proactive effort to explain in layman terms as if I had zero medical background, but I had just two short questions and I was charged for extended consultation. *26/02 Reply* Everyone knows what extended consultation meant. If I have to be blunt, what I am really saying is.. the unsolicited medical lecture is costing me money!
Dr Tan took his time to explain of my daughter’s condition. The staff were friendly and helpful which allow for a smooth visit to the doctor despite the cries.

SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Bukit Panjang is priced at the mid-range ($$) tier for private paediatric care. In Singapore, a private paediatric specialist first consultation typically runs S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. Investigations are billed on top: blood panels S$60–200, urine tests S$20–60, and referrals for X-ray or ultrasound S$80–400. NIP vaccinations administered at the clinic are charged per dose, typically S$30–80 per vaccine depending on type. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure or referral, request a written financial counselling estimate that breaks down insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit or the S$700/year Chronic Disease Management Programme limit for listed chronic conditions. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration appears in the listing data for SBCC Baby & Child Clinic Bukit Panjang. Before booking, verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence on the MOH licensee directory, and confirm the consulting paediatrician's SMC registration at smc.gov.sg — search by the doctor's name to check registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. For paediatric specialists, an MMED (Paediatrics) or fellowship with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) or Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) is the meaningful credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before booking — neither alone is sufficient.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations and day procedures subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For outpatient specialist visits, coverage depends on whether your rider includes the outpatient specialist benefit — check with your insurer before the appointment, as not all IP riders extend to outpatient paediatric consultations. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient treatments under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit, or S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed chronic conditions including asthma. NIP vaccinations at approved clinics may also be partially claimable under MediSave. For any planned procedure, request a financial counselling session — the clinic should provide a written itemised estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave, and out-of-pocket amounts. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill.
