About Singapore Women's & Children's Medical Group SWCMG

Singapore Women's & Children's Medical Group (SWCMG) is a paediatric practice located at Thomson Medical Centre on Thomson Road, serving families islandwide. KakiList has verified the provider's operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a 4.2/5 rating across 22 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, so treat this as directional rather than definitive. No regulatory licences appear in the current listing data, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed; parents are advised to verify these directly with the clinic before booking.

For a first paediatric consultation at SWCMG, parents can expect to discuss the child's presenting concern, developmental milestones, and vaccination history in line with Singapore's National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule. The clinic can be reached by phone or through the enquiry form on the listing. Private specialist paediatric consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first visit; alternatively, a polyclinic or GP referral letter routes to a subsidised specialist outpatient clinic (SOC) at a public hospital for S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though non-urgent waits of four to twelve weeks apply. Parents using Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) should confirm pre-authorisation requirements with their insurer before attending, and MediSave can be drawn under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for eligible paediatric chronic conditions such as asthma.

To take the next step, contact SWCMG directly by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm appointment availability, the consulting paediatrician's name, and the current consultation fee before attending.

I’ve been with Dr WK Tan since 2015 when I gave birth, and am still seeing her for regular check ups and some female related issues. Dr Tan is always very reassuring and took great care of both my daughter and I when we discovered some potential anomalies during the pregnancy. But when nothing is wrong, there really is nothing much to say after the usual examination and consultation because Dr Tan is indeed really busy and of course wouldn’t have time to go into a 20 min coffee chat with you. The nurses have grown into family after so many years especially Anna who is always so endearing and helpful. ❤️

Was already won over by the warm personality of staff at reception during first visit. Enquiries between appt and surgery were followed up promptly. Dr Serene Lim is experienced, cheerful, explores various options viable for treatment and patient in answering questions. Enjoyed the comfortable setting and decor and liked it that the clinic wasn’t crowded on weekday mornings probably due to enough time allotted to each patient.

The wife and I had an absolute lovely journey with SWC, the entire crew of nurses and assistants, and more important Dr TC Chang. Yes this is a Gyane clinic so don't get upset when you have to wait. You want a doctor who is always busy, well respected and in demand. Everyone wants his attention because he is a good doctor. If you find yourself in a clinic with no one inside you should think twice. Having said that, our appointments were usually kept very punctual. The nursing crew are very experienced and it shows in their speed and quality of care they provide. Dr Chang himself was brilliant IMHO. Every visit with him, he provided detailed and factual updates of our baby, backed with data and statistics. Nothing is left to guess work, you always knew the progress and process of the pregnancy, we felt at ease. Overall we would give this a 9.9/10 performance. In a world where nothing is perfect, the journey with SWC has been as flawless as it could have been. My wife, my newborn son and I, highly recommend this clinic, it's staff, and Dr Chang.

I saw Dr. Chang for a high-risk pregnancy, and he was incredibly patient, professional, and caring throughout the process. He was also confident in his diagnosis, which turned out to be spot-on. I truly appreciated the extra effort he took to consult with my cancer doctor, ensuring I received the best care and treatment amidst everything going on. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to him for my next pregnancy if any.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Singapore Women's & Children's Medical Group SWCMG charge?

Private paediatric specialist consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first appointment and S$80–180 for follow-ups at private clinics. On top of the consultation fee, expect additional charges for investigations such as blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), or urine cultures, as well as prescription costs and any procedure fees. GST applies on private medical services. For families with an Integrated Shield Plan (IP), most private specialist consultations are claimable subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules — confirm your coverage before attending. MediSave withdrawals under the CDMP (S$700/year) are available for paediatric chronic conditions including asthma. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate that separates insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit. Is Singapore Women's & Children's Medical Group SWCMG MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No regulatory licences are listed in SWCMG's current listing data, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed. Parents should independently verify two things before booking: first, that the clinic premises hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — searchable on the MOH licensee directory; second, that the consulting paediatrician is on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, with specialist accreditation confirmed in Paediatric Medicine. Neither the clinic licence nor the SMC entry alone is sufficient — both must be confirmed. For paediatric surgical sub-specialisms, a Royal College or Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FRCS or FAMS) is the additional meaningful credential beyond basic SMC registration. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Singapore Women's & Children's Medical Group SWCMG?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation with your insurer before any planned procedure, and request a Letter of Guarantee where applicable to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for outpatient paediatric care under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including asthma, up to S$700 per year. Selected investigations and vaccinations may also be MediSave-claimable. For any planned procedure, ask the clinic for a financial counselling session — most private clinics will issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions in writing. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by their final bill. For cost-sensitive families, a polyclinic or GP referral letter to a public hospital paediatric SOC (subsidised outpatient clinic) reduces the consultation to S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though non-urgent waiting times of four to twelve weeks are typical.
