About Smileworks Dental Services For Kids
Smileworks Dental Services For Kids is a paediatric dental practice located at Paragon Medical Centre on Orchard Road, serving families islandwide. The practice holds a 4.8-star rating across 123 Google reviews, a robust sample that points to consistent patient experience. No regulatory licences are recorded in the current listing, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed, so parents should verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting dentist's Singapore Dental Council (SDC) registration directly before booking.
A first visit typically begins with a consultation covering the child's dental history, growth stage, and any presenting concerns — decay, misalignment, teething, or dental anxiety. Paediatric dental practices use child-friendly behaviour management techniques to ease apprehension, and the clinical team will walk parents through findings, a proposed treatment plan, and the cost breakdown before any procedure begins. For planned treatments such as fillings, extractions, or fluoride applications, request a written financial estimate that separates MediSave-claimable portions, Integrated Shield Plan (IP) cover, and out-of-pocket costs. Note that the national school dental service covers basic care for primary and secondary students in government schools, but specialist paediatric dental procedures in private settings are generally self-funded or claimed through an IP rider.
To book an appointment at Smileworks Dental Services For Kids, call the clinic directly or submit an enquiry via the online form, and bring your child's most recent dental records or referral letter if transferring from another provider.
Verify the dentist's name on the Singapore Dental Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
I had called on 22 Jan morning to make the appointment and the call was answered by Nithya (I think). She was really helpful, efficient and communicates well. Like most people nowadays, although I prefer to DIY via web/app rather than have to speak to a human being, she made the appointment making process a pleasant experience I appreciate Dr Cao JY for being candid, patient and professional when checking my tooth and for asking the dental assistant not to spray the cold air above my hair ❤️ Regardless, I think both of them displayed good teamwork 👍 Thank you also to Kitty and Min Jia for assisting with my enquiries 😊
Dr Ada is an incredibly professional, detailed-oriented and knowledgeable orthodontist. She has been very patient with me over the past two years, and every session she took the time to reassure me and explain my progress and areas to improve. I truly appreciate her dedication and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking orthodontic treatment.
Dr Ho is skilful during the first stage of implant procedure but there are multiple administrative lapses from the clinic that are unacceptable. 1. The clinic staff requested to change my visit dates at least 4 times (e.g. 1 Aug 2025, 5 Sep 2025, 1 Dec 2025, 20 Feb 2026). 2. After my first stage of implant, there was a scan done on the 2nd/3rd follow-up visit so that a crown could be fabricated. A few weeks following the scan, I dropped by the clinic for the crown placement but it couldn’t fit. I understand that there may be times where fabrication is not perfect. One new scan was done to send the crown to the lab for adjustment. 3. A few days later, I received a call from the clinic that the lab did not receive the new scan meant for crown adjustment. I had to drop by the clinic one more time (on the same day of notice) to redo the scan. I was told that this will help ensure that I receive the crown before CNY. While I had to take urgent leave from work for this error, I agreed in light of being able to complete the second stage of implant procedure before CNY. 4. On the night before the scheduled appointment for new crown placement, I was informed that there was a delay in the crown delivery. Hence, the appointment had to be rescheduled to after CNY public holiday. While there can be service & administrative lapses at times, it is hard to accept so many lapses in the course of my implant procedure. I hope that the clinic can review and improve.
It had been a one and a half year journey for me, during which I was treated to a revolutionary treatment utitlising a miracle material to rebuild my eroded jaw bone. Dr Henry Ho, apart from his humble and extremely friendly demeanour is a true professional. He is committed and passionate about his work and devotion to his patient’s care and satisfaction, clearly explaining his diagnosis and outlining his strategy on treatment. Throughout this journey, he has been reassuring and encouraging. His not only skillful but exemplary in his overall approach. He is indeed a credit to his industry. Well done, Dr Ho.
Been seeing Dr Berenice Chan for some years, after a colleague recommended her. Love her warm, friendly manner and gentle approach. Makes patients feel less nervous about dental procedures. Clinic staff are also polite and friendly.

Paediatric dental fees in private specialist settings vary by procedure. A first consultation typically runs S$80–150. Common procedures carry additional charges: dental X-rays S$30–80, fluoride treatment S$50–100, fissure sealants S$60–120 per tooth, fillings S$100–300 per tooth depending on size and material, and extractions S$150–400. Procedures requiring sedation or general anaesthesia (for very young or highly anxious children) are significantly higher and usually performed in a day-surgery setting. GST applies on private dental services. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions before work begins. Check your Integrated Shield Plan rider for dental surgical cover — routine restorative work is generally excluded, but surgical extractions and GA-related costs may be partially claimable. Every legitimate dental clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising dentist is registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC); paediatric specialists additionally hold a specialist accreditation in Paediatric Dentistry, which is searchable on the SDC public register at sdc.gov.sg. No licences are currently recorded in this listing, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed. Parents should verify both the clinic's MOH licence and the named dentist's SDC registration directly before booking. Neither alone is sufficient — a licensed premises must have a registered dentist, and a registered dentist must practise from a licensed clinic. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Dental Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Routine dental consultations and restorative work (fillings, scaling, fluoride) in private specialist clinics are generally self-funded and not claimable through MediSave or MediShield Life. However, dental surgical procedures — such as surgical extractions, jaw surgery, or procedures performed under general anaesthesia in a day-surgery setting — may be claimable via an Integrated Shield Plan (IP) rider subject to the plan's deductible and co-insurance terms. Pre-authorise with your insurer and obtain a Letter of Guarantee before any planned surgical procedure. MediSave cannot be used for outpatient dental consultations under standard MOM withdrawal rules, but it can be applied to approved surgical day procedures if the procedure code is on the MediSave-claimable list. Confirm this at the financial counselling stage. For any planned treatment, request an itemised written estimate from the clinic that separates insurance payout, MediSave withdrawal, and out-of-pocket costs — this is the single most important step to avoid bill shock after the procedure.
