About SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic

About SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic

SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic is a paediatric clinic located at Thomson Plaza, Upper Thomson Road, serving families across Singapore. It has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person confirmed the operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a 4.2/5 rating across 30 Google reviews — a moderate sample that gives a reasonable directional signal of patient experience. No regulatory licences appear in the listing data, and the clinic is not confirmed on the ACRA business registry; both points should be clarified directly with the clinic before booking.

For new patients, the typical pathway begins with a phone call or online enquiry to check appointment availability and confirm the scope of the consultation — whether the visit concerns developmental milestones, behavioural concerns, the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule, a chronic condition review, or a specific paediatric presenting complaint. Private specialist paediatric consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first visit, with follow-ups at S$80–180. Investigations such as blood panels, developmental screening tools, or referrals to allied health (speech therapy, occupational therapy) are usually billed separately. For planned assessments or procedures, ask the clinic for a written financial counselling estimate that splits any insurance payout, MediSave withdrawal, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding.

Contact SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic by phone or via the enquiry form to confirm current appointment slots, the consulting doctor's name and Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration, and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before attending.

We’re so thankful for Dr. Lian, who has been looking after my 10-year-old son since May 2024. She helped us find the right treatment, medication, and dosage — and the difference in his overall behaviour, focus and regulation has been amazing. Dr. Lian is an incredibly experienced developmental paediatrician yet down-to-earth, and she genuinely cares about her young patients. You can really feel her dedication and love for children in the way she listens, explains, and follows up. The clinic team is always warm and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make every visit smooth and comfortable. Their prompt responses to parents' administrative questions have been most helpful. Our gratitude also goes out to Ms. Cindy, the psychologist who conducted my son’s psychological assessments and CBT therapy sessions. She’s very patient, professional, and insightful, and her friendly approach has helped my son gain better self-awareness and emotional regulation skills. We’re truly grateful to have found SpecialKids Clinic, and we wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lian, Ms. Cindy, and the entire team to any parent looking for genuine care and meaningful progress for their child.

I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Lian, who helped my son receive the right treatment, medication, and dosage. We have seen a tremendous improvement in his focus and regulation. Dr. Lian is highly experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. Her genuine love for children and dedication to their well-being is evident. i’m premature & autistic mom from indonesia, first of all, I ever got recommendation from my first son’s pediatric doctor at 2014, but since my first son’s development was no issue then i never come to this clinic. But, when it comes to second son, i notice my son was a bit lacking of developmental so i going to visit this clinic to get diagnose from Dr. Lian at 2023. And yes right, my second son was diagnose for ASD. Without any knowledge of this world, my first impression about specialkids clinic and doctor Lian was a really my saviour, all the suggestion isnt template and doctor Lian is really good doctor, and the connection was there. i really thankful her that my 2 years journey back then til now are a good progress, all the team from OT (chester), SLP (nina), BI (jocelyn) and EIP team also really good. they put all heart to intervention my son. i will always never hesitate to recommend this clinic and all the team if you really seek some help in developmental. Hopefully what you get same as much as like me and family. hope for good futurw ahead for our typical/neurotypical kids. trust the expertist and everything will lead the way. goodluck parents 🫶🏻

My son has been going to the clinic since he was 12 years old. He has showed a lot of improvement in his studies and general behaviour since then. Dr. Lian is a very friendly, easy to chat with person. My son connected with her very well and so did we. I don't think we could have done this journey with my son until he left high school without the advice and guidance of Dr. Lian . In trying times, she always calmed us down and gave us a different perspective. We are still learning. We hope to live upto her expectations of us as parents. The office staff have always been very helpful and courteous and we commend them for that. We wish Dr. Lian and staff the very best always and may they soar to greater heights , bringing light and solace to the children and their parents/care givers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic charge?

Private paediatric first consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250, with follow-up visits at S$80–180. SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic is listed at a mid-range price point ($$), though exact fees are not published in this listing and should be confirmed directly before your visit. Investigations are billed on top of the consultation: blood panels typically S$60–200, X-rays S$80–150, and developmental or psychological screening tools vary by instrument. Vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) carry their own per-dose cost. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure or extended assessment, request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions in advance. Is SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No licence is currently listed for SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic in this listing, so you should ask the clinic directly for their licence number and confirm it on the MOH directory before booking. Every practising doctor must also be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg. Search by the consulting doctor's name to confirm their registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. For paediatric subspecialists (e.g. developmental paediatricians, paediatric neurologists), a Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) is the relevant advanced credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before your first appointment — neither alone is sufficient.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient stays subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For any planned procedure, confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer beforehand to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave outpatient withdrawals are limited to S$500 per year for general outpatient claims, or S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers listed chronic conditions including asthma and selected developmental conditions. Routine consultations and vaccinations under the NIP schedule have specific MediSave claim rules — ask the clinic to confirm which items are claimable. For any planned assessment or procedure, request a written financial counselling session at the clinic so you receive an itemised estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket cost before paying. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill.
