About Steven Tuition Centre

About Steven Tuition Centre

Steven Tuition Centre is a tuition provider listed under Education on KakiList, operating islandwide and based at 175 Bencoolen St, #08-02, Singapore 189649. The centre is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. It holds a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating on Google, though this is drawn from only 7 reviews, so it should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Families considering Steven Tuition Centre should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the centre covers MOE primary, secondary, or junior college syllabuses, or international curricula such as IB or IGCSE. It is worth asking whether classes are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both learning pace and cost. Prospective students or their parents should also clarify whether a trial class is available before committing to a full term, what the term length and payment schedule look like, and whether sessions are held in-centre at Bencoolen or online.

The most direct next step is to contact Steven Tuition Centre via WhatsApp or phone to confirm current subject offerings, available time slots, and whether a trial class can be arranged before any term commitment is made. Listing data is incomplete — contact Steven Tuition Centre directly to confirm details.

The lessons have been very useful in helping me identify my weak areas to work on. Alwyn is always thorough in his explanations of the various concepts and makes it more manageable to grasp the material as a whole. At the same time, he makes sure that lessons are also enjoyable and never fails to clarify any of my doubts. It's thanks to his guidance and encouragement that I was able to improve in my Physics:)

Lessons are fun and informative. Alwyn and KS are both really amazing. They have made lessons very easy to comprehend and are both very patient with me, whenever I have questions or doubts about any concepts. They know the concepts like the back of their hands. Lessons are not just academic lessons, but life lessons as well. Thank you both so much. I really appreciate all the help and I'm glad that I am still in touch with the both of you!

The jc physics syllabus is very hectic and it is hard to cram so much information in a span of 1.5 years. On top of that, the nature of physics as a subject relies on contextual understanding and applications of mathematics and concepts learnt, rather than pure knowledge of the concepts itself. Such complications, piled with the immense depth of knowledge we are expected to have for the physics jc syllabus, makes physics a rather hard subject to score. Through j1 and the first half of j2, i struggled to score for physics, not because i didnt know what i was supposed to know, but because i didnt know what the examiners expected from me. I knew the concepts individually, but was unable to piece them together. Even when i knew the answer to certain questions, i was unable to put them into words and phrases in which the examiners were looking out for. I met Mr Alwyn after my Mid Years in j2, and i would like to express my gratitude towards him for being the most patient and versatile tutor i've ever met. Mr Alwyn does not really have a fixed "teaching style", but rather adapts himself to how a student learns best. He's also a very patient tutor, one that can answer the same question over and over when you throw them back at him each time you forget the same concept (generally, tutors would get pretty annoyed). Last but not least, Mr Alwyn extends the bonds formed with him beyond the classroom. Even till today, as i am serving my National Service, i am still in contact with Mr Alwyn. The close ties formed with him made me dare to approach him with "stupid" questions more without the fear of being lashed out on, which eventually strengthened my physics abilities much more than i had expected. As such, i was able to improve my physics from an E during Mid Years to an A for A levels under his guidance in a span of a few months. Thanks Mr Alwyn!

Mr Chan’s lessons were very useful as they were focused on content mastery and understanding. I used to be really weak in Chemistry as I did not have a firm foundation, but Mr Chan patiently guided me through useful summaries and lots of practice questions, and this enabled me to grasp a firm understanding of the difficult concepts. This enabled me to improve from a 4 to a 7 points (80%) in my final IB examination for Chemistry. Thank you very much!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Steven Tuition Centre charge per session?

Steven Tuition Centre's specific per-session rate was not published at the time of this listing. In Singapore, tuition centre fees typically range from S$30 to S$100 or more per session depending on the subject, academic level, and whether the format is group or one-to-one. Some centres charge a monthly package or term fee rather than per-session, and a separate materials fee may apply. Sibling discounts or multi-subject package discounts are worth asking about when you enquire. A trial class, if offered, may be charged at the standard session rate or a reduced introductory rate. Confirm all fees in writing before committing to a term. See the full Tuition Centres cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class so that students and parents can assess whether the teaching style and pace are a good fit before signing up for a full term. It is advisable to ask Steven Tuition Centre directly whether a trial session is available and whether it is charged at the standard rate or a reduced introductory fee. During the trial, pay attention to how the tutor explains concepts, whether the level of difficulty is appropriate for the student, and how engaged the student is throughout. These are stronger indicators of long-term suitability than a centre's location or marketing. Contact Steven Tuition Centre via WhatsApp or phone to arrange a trial before any term commitment.

What are the tutor's credentials at Steven Tuition Centre?

Tutor credentials were not specified in the available listing data for Steven Tuition Centre. When enquiring, it is worth asking whether tutors hold a degree in their subject area, whether any have a National Institute of Education (NIE) background or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching the relevant syllabus. You should also confirm which syllabuses the tutors are familiar with — MOE PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, IGCSE, or AP — as alignment between the tutor's expertise and your child's school curriculum is essential for effective preparation. Ask these questions directly when you contact the centre.
