About The Cheery Child Clinic

About The Cheery Child Clinic

The Cheery Child Clinic is a paediatric clinic located at The Midtown, Upper Serangoon Road, serving families across Singapore. It holds a 4/5 rating across 85 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. No regulatory licences have been confirmed in the listing data, and the clinic is not currently ACRA-verified on KakiList; parents are advised to confirm MOH and SMC registration directly before booking.

When consulting at a paediatric clinic, the first visit typically covers a presenting concern (fever, rash, respiratory illness, developmental query) alongside a review of the child's vaccination history against the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP) schedule. The attending doctor will take a history, conduct a physical examination, and determine whether investigations — blood panel, urine dipstick, throat swab, or chest X-ray — are needed. For developmental concerns, the paediatrician will assess milestones and refer for further evaluation by a developmental paediatrician or allied-health specialist if indicated. Private specialist consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first visit, with investigations billed on top; a polyclinic or GP referral to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic can reduce the subsidised cost to S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though non-urgent waits run four to twelve weeks. Integrated Shield Plans layered on MediShield Life may cover consultations and procedures subject to deductible and co-insurance rules — confirm pre-authorisation with your insurer for any planned procedure.

Contact The Cheery Child Clinic directly by phone to confirm the consulting paediatrician's name, clinic hours, and current consultation fee before making the trip to Upper Serangoon Road.

We’ve been seeing Dr Zainal since 2022, and he’s been consistently patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. He takes the time to do detailed checks whenever my son is unwell, and we always feel well cared for. My 3-year-old is completely at ease with him—even during injections and swab tests—and now enjoys chatting with Dr Zainal about his sickness! 😄 Kudos to Dr Zainal and the friendly nursing team too! Be expected to wait a lil (which is completely normal) since it's a PD specialist clinic.

As a mother of five, I’ve had many experiences bringing my children to different doctors, but my three youngest have been seeing Dr Zainal since the time he was practicing at another clinic. Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, especially in diagnosing and treating flu and cough in young children. His ability to identify the root cause quickly and provide effective treatment has given me great confidence in his care. Because of this, he has become our family’s trusted doctor, and I truly appreciate the reassurance and expertise he brings whenever my children fall ill.

Doctor Zainal is very patience and passionate. Clinic is spacious ! However do make an appointment before coming down. (You still have to wait despite appointment ..) Every child that visit the clinic has a purpose and is urgent. So, I think we just have to be patience to wait for our turn to come.

Is The Cheery Child Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been confirmed in the current KakiList listing data for The Cheery Child Clinic. This does not mean the clinic is unlicensed, but parents should verify both the MOH clinic licence and the consulting paediatrician's SMC entry independently before booking — neither alone is sufficient, and both checks are free and take under two minutes online. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at The Cheery Child Clinic?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and, for any planned procedure, obtain a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before the appointment to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500 general outpatient withdrawal limit per year, or up to S$700 per year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for listed conditions. For childhood vaccinations, some NIP doses are MediSave-claimable up to specific per-dose limits — check the MOH MediSave vaccination list for the current schedule. For any planned procedure or investigation, request a financial counselling session at the clinic. A written pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket cost in clear figures is standard practice at reputable private clinics and is the most effective way to avoid bill shock.
