About The Dental Opera Children
The Dental Opera Children is a paediatric dental practice located at 360 Orchard Road, International Building, offering specialist-focused dental care for children across Singapore. It holds a 5/5 rating across 91 Google reviews — a robust sample that suggests consistent patient and parent satisfaction. No regulatory licences are listed in the available data, and the practice is not confirmed as ACRA-registered, so parents are advised to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the treating dentist's Singapore Dental Council (SDC) registration directly before booking.
A first visit typically begins with a child-friendly consultation in which the dentist reviews the child's dental development, assesses oral hygiene habits, and identifies any concerns such as early decay, spacing issues, bite irregularities, or dental anxiety. Parents should bring any prior dental records or X-rays. Treatment options — from preventive fluoride applications and fissure sealants to restorations and extractions — are discussed with the parent before proceeding, and a written financial estimate covering consultation, any investigations, and proposed treatment should be requested at this stage. For children covered under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) or the Primary School Dental Programme, eligibility and claim limits should be confirmed with the practice beforehand, as private specialist dental clinics operate on a different subsidy pathway from government and polyclinic dental services. MediSave is generally not applicable to routine dental procedures.
Contact The Dental Opera Children via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to check appointment availability and confirm the consultation fee before your visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Dental Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
I had my receding gum treated by Dr Hu and I’m extremely grateful for the experience. He is very patient and took the time to answer all my questions, which really put me at ease. Dr Hu is clearly very experienced and skillful — I felt no pain at all, even from day one after the surgery. His cheerful and friendly personality, together with his warm and supportive team, made the entire procedure relaxed and stress-free. Highly recommended!
I saw Dr Hu for gum recession after my Invisalign treatment. He did up a fixed retainer, frenectomy, and gum grafting surgery. I just had my review today and feel so relieved, there’s now much more thickness and coverage in the previously receded area, and there's more stability than before. The whole team has been professional, warm, and caring throughout the journey. The surgery itself was nerve wrecking, but Dr Hu and his team’s calm and grounded presence helped to ease my nerves tremendously. I felt significant difference pre and post surgery. Great appreciations to Dr Hu and entire team for the excellent work.
I have consulted Dr Hu for years now. I have always thought him very professional and supportive. I had to undergo a couple of rather heavy procedures and he was always very gentle and careful. Pain was minimal and the results great. The staff is also great and very friendly.
I brought my son in for his first dental visit, and Dr. Kayla was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly gentle and kind, taking the time to explain each step to help him feel comfortable and prepared. After the visit, my son mentioned that he only wants Dr. Kayla to clean his teeth from now on. We’ll definitely be back to see Dr. Kayla again!
I had to do periodontal root cleaning and Dr. Hu Cidong did a great job, extremely competent and meticulous patient care. He also made me feel really comfortable during the whole process. Both the dentist and the office staff were incredible. It's tough to find professionals with kindness and compassion. This place is definitely an exception in that case. Extremely grateful for their services and happy . Highly recommended.

Paediatric dental consultation fees at private specialist clinics in Singapore typically run S$80–150 for a first visit, with follow-up reviews at S$60–120. Common procedures carry additional costs: X-rays S$30–100 per set, fluoride application S$30–60, fissure sealants S$60–120 per tooth, tooth-coloured fillings S$150–400 per tooth, extractions S$80–300, and pulpotomy (nerve treatment for milk teeth) S$300–600. General anaesthesia sessions for anxious or young children are substantially higher — typically S$2,000–5,000+ depending on the number of procedures combined. GST applies on private dental services. Parents should request a written treatment plan and cost estimate before any procedure begins. CHAS subsidies (Blue/Orange/Green card holders) may apply at participating private dental clinics — confirm eligibility with the practice directly. MediSave is not applicable to routine dental treatment. See the full paediatric dental cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate dental clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. The treating dentist must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC), searchable by name on the SDC public register at sdc.gov.sg. For a paediatric specialist practice, look for the dentist's specialist accreditation in Paediatric Dentistry on the SDC register, as not all dentists practising on children hold this specialist credential. No regulatory licences are listed in the current data for The Dental Opera Children, and ACRA registration is not confirmed. Parents should verify the clinic's MOH licence and the dentist's SDC registration directly before booking. The clinic's 5/5 rating across 91 Google reviews is a meaningful positive signal, but it does not substitute for licence verification.
MediSave is generally not applicable to routine dental procedures including fillings, extractions, scaling, and fluoride treatments. It can be used for dental surgery involving the jawbone or medically necessary oral surgery performed under general anaesthesia at an approved facility — confirm with the clinic whether any planned procedure qualifies. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life may cover dental procedures performed under general anaesthesia if they meet the insurer's definition of a medically necessary surgical procedure — check your plan's schedule of benefits and seek pre-authorisation before booking any GA session to avoid claim disputes after the fact. For families with CHAS cards, confirm the subsidy quantum applicable to each procedure at the time of booking, as CHAS dental caps are procedure-specific and change periodically. Request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the full expected bill, subsidy deductions, and out-of-pocket portions before agreeing to any treatment plan.
