A first visit to a paediatric dental clinic typically begins with a new-patient consultation covering dental and medical history, a clinical examination of teeth, gums, bite, and jaw development, and a behaviour-assessment to determine how the child responds to treatment. For younger children, the dentist will assess teething progress and fluoride needs alongside the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule context. Investigations such as dental X-rays are taken as clinically indicated, and the dentist will outline a treatment plan with a written financial estimate that splits out-of-pocket costs, Integrated Shield Plan coverage where applicable, and MediSave usage. Planned procedures such as fillings, extractions, pulp therapy, or stainless-steel crowns are quoted in advance. For anxious or very young children, sedation or general anaesthesia options may be discussed, each with separate cost and consent processes.
To book, call the clinic directly or submit an enquiry through the contact form, and request a written financial estimate for any planned procedure before proceeding.
Verify the dentist's name on the Singapore Dental Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
When we first looked for a Paediatric Dentist for my son, we were very careful and ensured it must be the right dentist. Someone who would care so that visiting a dentist will be a fun time and nothing dramatic nor traumatic. A dentist who would offer advice to address concerns for first-time parents. We were quite disappointed. The Kids Dentist did not give us a chance to compare. Dr Rashid delivered everything we asked for right from the first visit, and had continued doing that for the last 15 years. Aidan looked forward to every visit to the dentist without complaints, and Dr Rashid offered clear advice for every issues that we faced. Be it the bacteria attacked teeth since young, or the open bite concerns when Aidan grew up. Each of them were resolved with the professional care and advice that Dr Rashid offered. In a glimpse of an eye, Aidan has outgrown the dentist chair, made his last visit after 15 years and 'graduated' with a hug. Thank you Dr Rashid for taking care of Aidan all these years, and to the friendly and kind team at TKD! You all made visiting a dentist not daunting nor scary. Stay cool and chill Dr Rashid, Aidan hope to bring his children to you next time.
My son has been visiting Dr Rashid for years, and the level of care has been consistently outstanding. From our very first appointment, the dentist and staff have shown incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism. They always take the time to explain everything clearly and make my son feel completely at ease. It’s rare to find a dental office that builds such trust and comfort with children, and I’m truly grateful for the positive experiences we’ve had throughout the years. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a dependable and caring dentist for their child.
My son was seen urgently by Dr Rashid with a suspected root fracture. Dr Rashid and the whole team were amazing from beginning of the referral to the end. Dr Rashid in particular was a consummate professional and guided us through the entire process of ruling out the likelihood of root fracture with consideration and confidence. He was fantastic with my son and helped put him at ease while investigations were carried out. He then repaired the chip in my son’s adult tooth and the repair is so great I genuinely cannot tell where the chip was! The experience has been so fantastic that I have swapped all dental care for both my children to Dr Rashid and his team. Zero reservations in recommending The Kids Dentist.
Nicely decorated with games for kids to relax before seeing the intimidating dentist chair! Super nice touch to send comfort after the process, with a treasure chest of small cute toys to choose & bring home. Keep up the great job, Dr Rashid & Team!
The clinic operates with an emphasis on efficiency. The appointment moved quickly, but the speed came at the expense of essential communication. When I asked for direct, clinically relevant explanations to guide decisions for my child, the answers remained vague. Key information—on medical effectiveness, risks, psychological impact, and basic comfort measures—was not provided in a clear or actionable way. The dentist expressed an unwavering view that pain for children is a routine, unremarkable part of dental treatment. This was presented as a default rather than a factor to be minimised. The approach sits in noticeable tension with the principles commonly referenced in Singapore’s professional guidelines, which emphasise informed consent, patient comfort, transparent risk explanation, and child-centred care as core duties of practice. Communication was one-directional and highly authoritative. Questions were acknowledged but not addressed. The interaction reflected an older clinical style—decisive, efficient, and uninterested in shared understanding—despite Singapore Dental Council guidance highlighting the importance of clear communication, patient engagement, and respect for parental involvement in treatment decisions. The visit was undeniably efficient. What it lacked was alignment with the professional expectation that dentists provide families with clear information, meaningful reassurance, and a coherent plan to safeguard a child’s physical and psychological well-being.

Paediatric dental consultation fees at private specialist clinics in Singapore typically run S$120–200 for a first visit, with follow-up reviews at S$80–150. Common add-ons include dental X-rays (S$30–80 per film or S$150–250 for a full OPG/bitewing set), professional cleaning and scaling (S$80–200), fissure sealants (S$60–120 per tooth), fillings (S$150–400 per tooth depending on material), pulp therapy (S$300–600), stainless-steel crowns (S$400–700 each), and extractions (S$100–350). Sedation and general anaesthesia carry substantially higher separate fees. GST applies to private dental services. MediSave cannot generally be used for routine outpatient dental, but selected procedures under general anaesthesia at a licensed facility may qualify — confirm with the clinic. Integrated Shield Plans rarely cover outpatient dental; check your specific plan terms. Request a written financial counselling estimate itemising each component before any planned treatment. Every legitimate dental clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Dentists are registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) — you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in paediatric dentistry, and any disciplinary history on the SDC public register. Paediatric dentists with a Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) or a Royal College of Surgeons fellowship in paediatric dentistry hold recognised specialist credentials beyond basic registration. No regulatory licences have been submitted to this KakiList listing. Parents should ask the clinic for its MOH licence number and the consulting dentist's SDC registration number, and verify both independently before booking — neither alone is sufficient. This step is especially important when sedation or general anaesthesia is being considered for a child.
Routine outpatient dental consultations and standard procedures (fillings, extractions, cleanings) are generally not claimable from MediSave or covered under Integrated Shield Plans (IPs). Selected dental procedures performed under general anaesthesia at a licensed facility — such as comprehensive dental rehabilitation for very young or anxious children — may qualify for limited MediSave use; confirm eligibility with the clinic's billing team before proceeding. For any planned procedure requiring sedation or general anaesthesia, request a written financial counselling estimate from the clinic that breaks out the surgeon's fee, anaesthetist's fee, facility fee, and materials separately. If your child holds a medical condition that requires dental treatment as part of broader care, check with your IP insurer whether a Letter of Guarantee is available. Skipping this step is the most common reason families are surprised by the final bill.
